I have a pair of Paradigm 9SE MkII that look almost identical to those except the port is rear loaded, down low. Bought them new in August of 1991. They still sound excellent today! 20 years old... Paradigm makes some excellent quality speakers.

These were my first pair of Paradigm that I ever owned. Great for the price new at just under $700 out the door in 94 when I bought them new. Just sold them this year. Currently own Studio 100's 80's and 60's. All V1. Great speakers but they need power to sound great. Mk3 sound great hooked to anything and the textile soft domes are fatigue free. Just awesome speakers period for the money. You can pick up clean pair's of 7Se-Mk3 as cheap as $200-300 if you keep an eye on craigslist. Monitor 7 V1 and V2 aren't bad either and around the same price and same dual 6.5" and 1" but a titanium hard dome tweeter in the monitor's instead of the textile soft dome.

@themo8370 Hi, I own a pair of these and they are awesome. I recently took them to a friends house who has a pair of 1400 watt Carver 1.5t amps and we hooked them up...OMG unbelievable!!! Sounded so much better than my pitiful Denon bi-wire job. Still sound great at my house but his amps took them to a higher level...thanks for the video.

I acquired a set of these today for nothing, I swapped them out with my Mission M73i's and I must say I wasn't very impressed at first.....
I enjoyed the clarity and the mid range of the missions for a long time so got very used to them. However, after a few hours with the Paradigms I'm smitten. I really like them. The mid is a bit flat but there's a lot of bass.
I've had them half a day and I've already started to modify them by placing blue LEDs behind the cones (they're semi-transparent. Looks great at night.
Would recommend these if you can find a pair. I can't find them anywhere in the UK websites.

I have these speakers, just got them out of storage after almost five years. I think I have the generation after this surrounds and then an even later generation centre channel. I still have not bought a sub, but I think it is about time as I'm upgrading my home theatre this year it seems.

I own a set and they can take a beating . I've played screaming metal to rap through them and they just won't die. I call them party rock speakers . I've owned several sets and out of everything I've owned they come second to the cerwin vega ls 15s I once had .

Patrick, to answer your question. the $1000 speakers are for clarity good mids and set up properly with 1 or 2 subs you get great mid bass no muddy sounds I have paradigm speakers monitor 7 v.4 they look all most the same as semk3's. I use separates, emotiva amp and pre amp /tuner, cd etc. 2 subs that allow me to control the signals that are sent to the main speakers, even cranked to 150 watts rms per channel they are crystal clear due to the fact the towers are not having to play frequencies thay are not meant to everything bellow 125 hz is handled by the subs, with their own amps.
I get no distortion at near wide open volume.

I have a nice old set 9se from 1987 as well as a pair of Monitor7 and a pair of Monitor5 . They have all been employed in my home theater system on various channels of the system . I also use them in a two channel music set up and I must say that I prefer the old 9se over the Monitors . The 9se is a very musical speaker with solid bottom end and the soft dome tweeter is much easier on the ears than the titanium dome in the Monitors . They are currently mated to beastly Luxman R-117 receiver !

We've been pretty happy with the sound it produces now. Maybe in the future when money isn't tight and i'm ready to upgrade to Dolby Tru-HD and DTS Master Audio, i'll think of bu-amping them.

I love the speakers. I have the se11mk3's. Looking to replace them with the Studio 100s soon.

EeeScape Phoenix Don't sell your 11Se-Mk3. You'll regret it. You won't regret picking up Studio 100 V1 or V2 and adding to your collection. Just keeonin mind the Studio need allot of amp to sound there best. The 11Se-Mk3 sound good on even a cheap receiver.

It's not Monster. It's pre-oxidizes 12-Gauge wire. I keep the grills on. You can even see they are put off to the side. The whole point of this track is to see woofer movement. I recently moved, and all wires are organized now, TV super upgraded, as well as some equipment.

These Paradigm &SE MK3 are really nice speakers plus you have the silk dome tweeter which is much better than the alluminum tweeter Paradigm used on the Paradigm 7SE speakers.

@Rookie35m its not the sound quality with this song, its the woofers moving at bass you can't hear which sparks interest. I'm sorry you feel that way though.
