Beautiful per usual Holly!!! And thank you for your honesty on how the scent smells and sets up in your opinion. This is extremely helpful for all soapers. God Bless you 10 fold!
you're seriously the best soap maker on youtube. all your soaps smell amazing, look so good and are phenomenal. I've purchased soaps from a lot of different soap makers but your soaps are by far the best.
For future reference, keep a little container of coffee beans where you store your fragrance and essential oils. Everytime you need to "cleanse your palette", so to speak, open the container of coffee and smell it a couple times. Then put the lid back on and continue with the task of picking out your fragrance. The coffee totally get rid of all the built up fragrances in your sinuses, leaving you clear headed to smell more. Kinda like when you are tasting wine or are a judge at a bbq contest, they give you fruit and cheese, sometimes crackers to cleans your taste buds. Santee thing applies to coffee and fragrances.
I love the look of this soap. I find many watermelon soaps have too much rind for my taste. I do like the darker colour of the other soap you shared. I hope you can find a watermelon fragrance you like!
This is still a lovely soap Holly! Like another viewer, I really like the thinner rind too. I find Watermelon is a tough scent to deal with, it either seizes or you have to use a mix of some sort and more times than not it will discolour. Thank you for sharing your test batches too, I enjoy watching! ;)
Thank you! Yes, you are exactly right. I meant to mention or note in the video that the reason I don't tend to do large batches is also because it usually gets thick too fast. Too bad that this one played nice but doesn't smell a thing like watermelon.
Hey! Holly thank you for being you! You are a perfectionist (even if you/ won't/don't admit it) 😃. Totally admire you. Very pretty soap. Thanks as ever. 💜
This soap looks lovely! And I personally would totally be on board for a rainbow sherbet scent ;) looking forward to the next release! can't wait to get some more wax melts, I've been using yours primarily since yours ALWAYS have the best throw of any I buy!
Thank you Alicia! It has been a while since I've soaped the actual Rainbow Sherbet scent. I might have to do that again soon. I am so glad that you like the wax melts too. YAY!
I love the bottom being marbled, it truly looks like a rind. As far as scent, have you tried Watermelon Taffy from Jen at BeScented? Very much a sweet Watermelon scented, at least in my candles.
@@mlangelfire268 I do but I only make wickless candles that you melt on warmers. I made a watermelon one with Black Obsidian as seeds. It doesn't let me post my website, my IG is mysticaldragonflycandles.
Thank you! I looked it up and the watermelon has some vanillin in it. I didn't notice any test results so I would have to see if it would discolor soap. Nature's Garden also has a watermelon taffy fragrance but it does go brown.
the greens look more like a rind the way they are. Looks great! I have not made a watermelon soap yet this year, I think I am going to make some just for me.
I do like how the bottom turned out. Sometimes I don't say exactly what I'm thinking. The bottom looked cool but to make it again I'd try for more striping and less swirling. Haha!
Thank you for trying this fragrance oil and sharing your experience with us. My watermelon soap color turned out lighter then I wanted too. I think your soap looks Great 🍉💓❤️
I bought this fragrance to make some soap cupcakes and bath bombs for Christmas. Santa's workshop is gaining steam lol. I'm so glad you showed this...looks like I'll have plenty of time to work!!
@@moriversoap I smell sugar and citrus (but at this point I think I'm nose blind) Natures garden has Pink Watermelon that I like...I mix it with Watermelon from Candle Science and get a true watermelon scent. I'm waiting on mine in the mail now ❤ there's also very good things said about the true red. Theirs seems to work best in cp, I can't wait to try it out
I do too. I should have said I wish I would have made it more stripe-y and less swirly. Haha! I don't have my notes near by to answer you on the other soap colors. The next video I put up should be that one. I think I used the same colors, just different variations.
@@moriversoap Great. Love love your videos, your personality, and it is time to order more soap! You are an inspiration. Funny story, i remembered the name of your buttermilk & blue jeans soap because i thought the name was so awesome.
Do you have A video of how to make your soap base from scratch and measurement for 5lb soap ? I am trying to make soap as well but I struggle with the batch
I don't focus much on tutorials themselves and unfortunately, I can't remember if I have anything like what you are wanting on my channel.😂 I would check the links in the video description for beginner cold process soapmaking though. Thanks!
It is a hard one for sure. I think the really good ones probably are the discoloring ones...and I've never tried those. Haha! I do use Watermelon Sorbet which many people do really like.
Hi Holly! What do you do with your test batches after they cure? Yours seems pretty large. Do you sell them if it’s successful or do you make another one intended for that purpose? Hope that makes sense!
What is the measurements of your tall and skinny if you don't mind me asking 🤔, I'm trying to get my husband to build me a couple of molds and I'm trying to get an idea of measurements.
I have my husband make them 18 inches long because that is the width of the freezer paper. Other than that it's the width you want your bars and how tall.
Since I reduce the water in the solution, it often creates 'lye lint'. I usually don't strain a freshly made lye solution but if it has been sitting for a while, it can get 'crunchy' and then I do strain it so I don't have any lye pockets.
@@Magickacademy That's crazy! I know they increase them occasionally but that is just ridiculous. I'm sorry you didn't want to stick around but I understand.

Love that scent! It fades slightly but then comes back few weeks
Good to know. It has been 5 weeks here and it still smells like citrus.

Have you tried WSP Watermelon Mania? It’s the best watermelon I’ve smelled so far
I have not because it shows that it discolors. Do you deal with much discoloration?

The soap is beautiful, I love watermelon sorbet from Rustic Escentuals
Thank you! I do use A LOT of Watermelon Sorbet from RE. It does smell sour to me so I think that is why I have a weirdness with watermelon.

I'm so tardy with the watermelon soap making game. Next year I will try to make one using BB Lychee Red Tea. Those colors are on point Ms Holly.
Thank you Andrea! I have heard that the Lychee Red Tea is very watermelon like. I wonder why BB dropped their Summer Melon Spritzer?
That looks pretty!
Thank you Melinda!
Great color for watermelon luv soap

This might be a silly question but can I substitute Shea butter in place of the palm oil?
You'll have to run it through the lye calculator but it is certainly an option.
