  • Ray Romano has an iconic sitcom and a celebrated stand-up career under his belt, so what drives him to keep challenging himself artistically? Mike and Ray, who often follow each other at the Comedy Cellar, ponder the complicated answer to that question. Plus, discussion of comedy craft, joke-writing technique, and the two separate times Ray was held up at gunpoint.

About 5 minutes in I noticed the name plaques and I spit my coffee out laughing while they are talking about crying in the movies "Mike Birbiglia has covid" is honestly a hilarious prop to have

19:12 Y’all’s discussion on what styles have staying power was helpful to hear, another push for authenticity. 👏

Same, and yet I'm still happy to listen to him retell his stories for the 50th time. I could listen to Ray talk all day lol.

I think he looks better and better the more he ages. I never found him attractive during the 'Everybody Love Raymond' years tbh.

You could put Ray or Mike in any comedy club in the country and they’d completely destroy. They’re both such great, dedicated comedians and it’s impossible not to like them

Considering how many times they've bombed,I think they'd argue otherwise lol They're amazing, but everyone great has bad nights.

It was some kind of anniversary of Hollywood Improv... I was a wee P.A. Ray Romano and a ton of brilliant comics... Ray's main goal was not cracking up the audience... He was backstage running around with a video camera (yes, that long ago) to get OTHER comics to say happy birthday and be funny for his wife whose 40th bday was coming up. #goldstandardhusband
I also remember Kevin Pollack going all in for the video... Or maybe my crush on him just made Kevin funnier than he was in the moment. 🤣 Totally possible. But Ray, for sure... Funny AND stellar LOVE MUFFIN HUBBY.

I watched his movie somewhere in Queens, literally: Cinemart on Metropolitan Ave. after having taking the Q53 from Rockaway and walked by a couple of the locations in the movie! so efen cool. And the movie was so real and beautiful and funny... exactly like Queens.

I don’t like the way a small clip of the interview is dropped in at the front of the video. I’m already watching it, you don’t need to entice me. And then I’m just confused when the same clip pops up again later!

Fake hair is obviously terrible. Even someone with Ray's money can't get one that looks real. :-D

Mike constantly saying "Yeah." when Ray is talking is crazy distracting.
