A trick she and any other female politician could use when faced with this sort of question is to turn directly to the camera and say "I want to talk directly to the people watching... do you actually care about this sort of question? Does what I wear or how I do my hair or my dancing ability have any impact on your life at all? My job does, the policies I implement do. Isn't that what you want journalist to ask about? About politics, about policy. Not about the fluff that's usually in the back of magazines about celebrities and actors." That would really put the journalist on the spot. If they don't immediately ask a serious policy question the follow up could be "So do _you_ have any opinion on what the viewers deserve to know about? And is it anything more substantial than about my shoes." One or two of these public humiliations and it would act as a great deterrent. Journalist hate being called out directly for asking stupid questions when they know it's just a gotcha attempt. It's like asking a bloke to explain a sexist joke to a woman that he's just made. He'll suddenly be acutely aware of how inappropriate it is when the other person isn't going along with their crap.

Angela Raynor's only "accomplishment" to date was to become an MP, that's not too difficult when you're a former union convenor. Generally human nature dictates what we do, men are judged on achievements ( women seek out successful men) and women are judged on appearance (men put looks the top of their list..) so it seems natural and most people understand and ignore it.

The Tories absolutely hate her because of her background. They hate the fact she was a single mother from a working class background, didn't go to private school or Oxbridge. She is an affront to the ruling class because she has made something of her life and they hate the fact she isn't living on benefits to conform to their view of the plebs. As was seen with the "scandal" of the flat she sold, they will do anything to take her down but she is far too hard a nut for them to crack. She needs to be a figurehead for young girls to show what you can do when you put your mind to it.

Really, who cares what a politician wears? What matters is what they say and, even more, what they do. Many in the media hold men and women to totally different standards. In Australia a Male host was so fed up with the media concentrating on what his female cohost was wearing that he wore the same suite every day for a year, no one noticed until he told everyone. But if a woman wears the same jacket she wore a month ago the media go mad! Total hypocrisy and absolutely meaningless. Angela Rayner is a great politician, hard working and intelligent. Critique her on what she says, does or believes but lay off her fashion sense.

A reasonably healthy women in her forties dancing in a not particularly energetic way is not usually. There are tens of thousand of pubs where people go to have a short dance (long dance are not good for the knees) to hits from the 70s on wards. It even happens in the Conservative Clubs but they maybe playing the 50s and 60s.

It seems that any women in politics the media concentrate on what they are wearing rather than their accomplishments. Men get that too, at times, but women more so. What Miss Raynor does on her own personal time is her own business! Angela Raynor's only "accomplishment" to date was to become an MP, that's not too difficult when you're a former union convenor. Generally human nature dictates what we do, men are judged on achievements ( women seek out successful men) and women are judged on appearance (men put looks the top of their list..) so it seems natural and most people understand and ignore it.
It's because she's working class, a teen mum, young grandmother who dared to work hard and defy all expectations levelled on her for those very things. They cannot abide her because ''she got above her station'' and those who believe they were born to rule cannot tolerate a hardworking, grounded WOMAN, with a conscience, getting into her position as it flies in the face of and defies every outdated notion they hold, go on Angela.
