Welcome to Saudi Arabia 🩵🩵 Regarding the buses , you are right they definitely need to be changed to a newer and better versions. We as Saudi people don’t use buses we all have our own cars , you can see these buses were used mainly by foreigners employees. Yet recently there are newer line of buses with modern technology and style just been applicable this year , but we still don’t use them we rely on our own cars 🤣 we are not used to buses and metros I apologise for any inconvenience and I wish you a great journey 🤍🤍🤍
Love to watch you both living your best lifes, it's usually family and possessions that can tie us down. Such infectious smiles from you both. Thank you Mandy and Lee. 😊
Thank you for your kind comment Gloria. 🙏. Although travel can be quite a challenge in this region, it's the friendly and helpful people that make it such a pleasant experience. There's always something to make you smile. 😊👍 ~ Lee
I totally understand what you mean about COVID. Planning made no sense. But wow Saudi looks so different to what I thought. Mandy, obvious question...your head is uncovered?
Football…the universal language. ⚽️ Glad to see everything worked out and impressed Lee can still make a few jokes while the going get rough. 🐪 Happy travels in Saudi Arabia. 🇸🇦
The Saudis are football crazy. It was the subject of many a broken conversation. People were always friendly and patient when trying to converse. I wish I didn't find Arabic so difficult. 😬 Cheers 🙏 ~ Lee
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Gina. We are so fortunate to be living the life we have always dreamt of, and the sacrifices over the years have been so worth it. Everyone has a different goal, and I always think it's wonderful to see people following their dreams! ~ Mandy 😀😁
Great video as always guys. I had my card refused a few times in Saudi too. Those SAPTCO buses are surprisingly grotty, I went from Madinah to Al Ula on one and made some great friends albeit temporarily. Bizarrely the driver kept stopping every half hour so the trip took an age! Loving your Middle East videos.
Nice one Dave. They are pretty grotty considering the cost. I think the Saudis with money all fly. Hope you enjoyed Al Ula. We didn't make it there but hoped to if we return on this one year visa. Do you think it is worth the hype?
@@FrugalTravellers the actual ruins of Hegra are worth it yes, but the old town which has been done up and touted as the other main attraction of Al Ula is just a drain on the purse strings…. Although at the tourist info centre at the entrance they give away real quality dates and tea… I sat there and stuffed my face for a good half hour! Biggest hassle with Ali Ula was the cost of the accommodation…cheapest room was$75 when I was there in January and it was miles away from the centre and Hegra so you had to either hitch in to town or pay for a taxi.
Thank you, Leslie. We did get carried away made rather a lot in Kuwait. We were just so excited to be on the road again and in such a fascinating place. 😊👍. Sending best wishes! 😁 ~ Lee
3:56 First of all welcome to Saudi Arabia. With SAPTCO it is always better to book the tickets online it is much cheaper, easier and they accept credit cards **don't worry about the ticket it is valid for 1 year if missed the bus they will reschedule your trip immediately at the bus station to be on the next bus (within 1~2 h) or reroute to different destination of your desire**
Thank you so much for all of the useful information. 🙏 We didn't book any tickets in advance because we wanted to be free to change our minds to leave or stay at the last minute. It is very useful to know they can reschedule your trip. Thank you 🙏😊
Thank you. 🙏 Riyadh is coming next. Unfortunately we couldn't visit Al Deriya because it is being totally renovated and is a building site covered in cranes at the moment. It will look great when it is finished. ☺️ ~ Lee
Things always work out - we can get stressed but it’s not worth it - the best memories are when things don’t got to plan, nice to see your always smiling no matter what happens
Thank you, Leslie. We try to always make the most of things. It was a slight concern there that we'd be stuck in Al Khafji but as you say, things always work out. It was so kind of the people there to offer to change some dollars cash for us if we were stuck. It's always useful to have some cash available just in case. 👍 ~ Lee
Hi Paul. We've spoken about this on a few videos. We have a link in our description for Trusted House Sitters. We have also used Facebook groups for house sitting in the countries we travel in. It's worth searching there. 👍
Looks inspirational. I was wondering how it looks there and how easy is to move around. (Many things like bus station chairs, doors, tiles, buildings look like it is in China)
Hi there. It is quite a challenge to move around really. Luckily people are very friendly and helpful. The buses are pretty run down considering it is such a wealthy country. It is a fun adventure. ☺️

Thanks so much 🙏 The kindness and hospitality of the people there really did overwhelm us. So many times we were genuinely offered help. This will be my long lasting memory of travelling in Saudi Arabia. ❤️🙏❤️

Thanks Mark 🙏. You have to laugh through these trying situations. It usually works out ok in the end. ☺️ ~ Lee
Fab! I enjoyed that. Likd Lee's little victory dance party for one there at the end.
I can't help but get into the groove. 😁🎉🎵
Good on you both
The only thing that makes you truly happy is living life at your level

Mandy and Lee, Could you share the Housesitting sites you use when you're looking for new places? It would be greatly appreciated! Regards, Paul

Excellent adventure 🎉+1.
Thanks 👍 It was a great adventure for us to travel overland there. The only way to go! ☺️
I hope you enjoyed your journey 😘
Thank you so much 🙏 We really did enjoy travelling in Saudi Arabia overland. The landscapes are really amazing 😍
Bus rocking chairs!!
Not what you want to see at the beginning of a long journey when you've got a dodgy back. 😳
@@FrugalTravellers Because these buses are very cheap, they are for workers. I don't know why they took a high price from you
Did you find Hafji and the trip to Riyadh safe? And people?
Yes, we found it to be safe, and the people we spoke with were helpful 👍 ~ Mandy 😃 😁

6:53 Sorry, they are not nomads. Instead, they sell. They sell sheep and camels and their fodder
Thank you for clarifying that.
المضحك بالموضوع ان شعب السعودي ما يعيقهم التواصل بلغه اخرى 🤣🤣 شعب اجتماعي ولطيف بشكل عجيب 🤎
They are extremely sociable and friendly and helpful. It is a pleasure for a foreigner to come here and to be treated so well. 🙏
The best way to travel between the cities of Saudi Arabia is to rent a car from car rental offices
Thank you 👍. Good advice 😁
