    My mum and relatives made fun of me for playing with a Star Wars toy and I'm a girl. I wish I spoke up :(

    As a teacher it seems my students are never happy by my appearance. " Why is your hair short? You're supposed to have long hair like a girl." " Bowties are for boys" " Why aren't you wearing makeup?" All I can do is set an example for them by teaching them that a boy and a girl don't have to look a certain way to be their gender.

    About the video , if your a girl or a boy , it doesn’t mean that you should do all stuffs that girls and boys should do, you can do whatever you want , and in real life I’m a girl , but it doesn’t mean that I have to play with dolls , I play in my devices , but thanks for teaching💗💗

      Sterotypes as boy i like how it is so keep it like it is crying it for babys only cry if its a huge problem and men have a stronger upper body then girls but girls have stronger under body and have a longer life but the average gender to work out is men so that's what i think

    Luckily for Madeline she likes to things her way like being independent and adventurous. Madeline doesn't like to do perfect lady like activities. But thankfully a lot of things have changed since then we honor our uniqueness and we should be proud of who we are as individuals.

    "Boys should never cry"
    One of the most common stereotypes
    Then at the mother's death or father's death they should laugh?

    My grandparents always compare me to my cousin, because she likes long nails, getting her nails done, long hair and wigs, perfume and lip gloss. But I dont like any of that? I told my grandma that "not all girls like the same thing" now she thinks I'm "special" somehow. I like playing games (all day lol), I like playing sports, I dont like dresses and I love baggy shirts and jogging pants, I dont see purses as something fashionable for me, and i HATE perfume. my grandma is literally scared if I become a transgender or a tomboy like my cousin, she thinks something is wrong with me in my head because i simply dont like that stuff and she hopes that I will like "girly" things when I'm older (which I will not)

    I think this video handled the subject very well. My parents from a young age encouraged me (a female but goes by they/them) to play with Barbie dolls and My Little Ponies, when I got older I realised I didn’t like that stuff. Thats when I realised I was non binary cause I didn’t feel like a girl or a guy, I haven’t come out yet because my parents stereotype genders a lot (example when my younger brother was born, my grandma made a little cardigan for him and it was yellow, and according to my parents “yellow is a girls colour” and they didn’t put it on him when he was born, they said “Its a nice cardigan but I’m not putting yellow in a boy” I felt so bad for my grandma because she spent ages making it for them only for them to yell at her for “normalising feminine boys”) and I don’t know how they would handle it, and also they always judge me when I do something “not lady like” such as when I didn’t cross my legs when I was sitting down (I man spread cause I think its comfortable) and they said “Ew your such a tramp act more lady like,”

    • @Blue_Oceanic
      @Blue_Oceanic 2 роки тому +4

      I can’t believe how your parents would stereotype you. Also about coming out about being non-binary. If you are in a safe household and you feel safe you can: do a piece of artwork showing your gender identity. You can try and build up the confidence to tell them. Or you can maybe tell someone else like your grandma first. Trust me it will be hard to come out but it will be so worth it. Also I don’t care if your pronouns are he/him she/her or they/them everyone is my friend

    • @Gustavo-fl3eg
      @Gustavo-fl3eg 2 роки тому +3

      This is something that also needs to be normalized. I'm a boy and I want to make friends with girls at school, but as you might expect, they always think it's dating. It's always boys having friendships with boys and girls having friendships with girls, it gets tired...

    In general, stereotypes are good things. They bring order to a chaotic world. People who veer from the norm of the group, well, they choose to put themselves outside the group. Stereotypes are only wrong when someone GOES OUT OF THEIR WAY to harm a nonconformist. I have no problem ostracizing weirdos. "It's natural," as the left often says. I decide what OVERsimplification is, not the producers of a video or a purported "teacher."
