57yo 105kg man with knees to match. TRT review persuaded me to try the Glycerin 20's. Great call. Super comfy, easy running, knees feel good, still low miles but loving these shoes. £85 from "Start Fitness" with an extra 10% discount. Thank you to the TRT team (especially Nick H-F).
I found them to be comfortable for standing in but terrible for running... wobbly squishy and unstable, a bit like running on a rubbery balloon. I very quickly developed knee pain so switched back to my pegasus 40s.
Thanks for the review. On your recommendation I picked up a pair of the 19s in a sale and other than the dad vibe I love them for my easy day runs. Super comfortable, and the midsole just absorbs impact without really feeling overly soft/squishy. Personally I’d like a style update but I know there are plenty of people who want the Brooks look and don’t have many places to go for it so I can live with it.
Thanks for the review guys. After going through three pairs of Glycerin 19's naturally I have invested in the Glycerin 20's and I absolutely love them. I raced in the 19's but the feedback on the 20's is that isn't a racing shoe. In your opinion what would a racing alternative to the Glycerin 20 be please? Thanks!
also loving the glycerin 19 & 20. I enjoy the new saucony's endorphin speed 3 & pro 3 for faster paces. Great shoes, maybe give em a shot if you enjoyed the gylercin
Managed to get my hands on the Stealthfit version in a UK 8.5 with 10% off your first order promo. Weighs 284g, roomier than most knit uppers I’ve tried. Foam is very bouncy but not as compressive as I was expecting. Though I’d caveat my comments in that I’ve only run in these on very tired legs. I bought these as an easy day shoe as my Saucony Triumph finally bottomed out after more than 500 miles and the Triumph 20 isn’t out until August. Overall I’d say that they are a decent shoe and I like the Stealthfit much more than the Triumph upper but in terms of the foam I prefer the PWRRun+ for easy days. There’s too much overlap with the Novablast 2 for me which is easily the superior shoe.
Great review. I've just a pair but the GTS version so even more weight with the guiderails added. I certainly think Brooks could loose some weight on those by taking the unnecessary extra 'slash' marks off.
I have to say and as a runner with an initial marathon finish in 1984 and a shoe selection back then between 'red' or 'blue', that these reviews are getting a little too technical and fussy for me. So much attention now on 'responsiveness', 'liveliness', 'breathability' and the odd 'hot spots', whatever fancy terms are now being used in reviews like these. My advice: Focus more on your runs and your mental attitude, buy whatever you can afford and stick with your shoes for around a 1,000 kilometres or so. No need to abandon running shoes after 300 kilometres and to rotate through 5 different pairs for bespoke workout sessions, unless of course you have unlimited funds and running shoes are your overriding obsession.
"Evolution". It's a fantastic concept that allows us to be better. If we all stuck to your attitude of "it was better in the old days" we would cease to improve Thankfully nobody listens to your opinion and we keep evolving. Keep on running in your red and blues ones though if that works 😅
My mother was a runner in the 80s and she’s very grateful I have more options than she did. I inherited her biomechanical issues, foot shape and plantar fasciitis. So those “fussy” wide range of options are what make it possible for me to keep running well into my 30s without painful injuries, where she had to quit running and take up swimming.
@@InfoConGafasLol... you didn't remotelly respond to the actual point. You just took the opportuntely to bash someone, along with wild unsubstantiated assumptions. You added no value.
Muy buen información. Se ve una buena opción para personas grandes y pesadas que nos gusta trotar. Ya llegó a mi país, pero el costo es alto con respecto al Glycerin 19. Voy a probarlos. Saludos desde México City. Gracias.
Wish Brooks would take a chance on changing their designs… they seem to have a decent foam, but the designs look/feel outdated. Probably take a page out of Asics's playbook? Asics somehow managed to shed that old dad shoe vibe with their designs.🤔🤞🏻🙏🏼🙏🏼
Saludos.
Sport pursuit are selling these for £65.99 in light blue. I'm wanting a pair of running shoes for everyday wear (walking, at work on my coffee van etc). Are these ideal for my needs? I have a pair of ASICS Novablast 4 for my running.
I picked them up from Sport Pursuit a few weeks ago. Seems a great price for a shoe that would be good for me having started running this year. I’ve used them for walking, long runs and interval runs. Really happy with them. I’ve also done a lot of running on trails and footpaths here in the uk. Took a little bit for me to adjust to the height as my old shoe didn’t have nearly as much so it felt like I was going to roll my ankles on tree roots. Ive adjusted to them now though and they’ve been fine off-road even if that’s not their intended use.
@@tristanhawkins8699 thanks for the info. I've since received an apology email from Sport pursuit to say they've a problem with supplier and the trainers will not be heading my way. They've refunded me and also added 500 points (£5 equivalent) to my account. So I've ordered the 4 version on the Mizuno and with the 500 points added to the 1000 I already had I've got the later version for a cheaper price than the 3.....so happy days! 😃
Tried those on in store today, and seemed like length wise fine but the sides taper in at the toe to extent I felt like my big toe was almost overhanging the sole a little, anyone else notice this - is this fine/ typical for the shoe..? Just concerned could get blister on sides - but wouldn’t say my foot was wide. Any observations of owners would be so helpful! Thanks!
Hi, I don't know if I pronate more or not. I have just started training/running, heavyweight, height 1.85cm. Not looking for race or long marathons, just for daily 10km walk plus intermittent runs. Which would you recommend? GLYCERIN 20 REGULAR, OR WITH GTS? And apart from Glycerin, which shoe? Also considering Speed 3. I could buy two pairs, if it would help. Thanks!
I've got glycerin 19 GTS and I absolutely love them. I'll definitely buy another pair of them if I have a chance. Glycerin 20 are too expensive so far, 160$ or smth.

Best shoe I've ever owned going back to around 1978
These are the most comfortable shoe I’ve EVER owned, thanks Brooks….

I always notice loads of Brooks on the start of my parkruns. They seem to be a popular runners favourite.
For good reason, Brooks makes shoes that perform extremely well!
I've been wearing Brooks from the start, from the 1st or 2nd Adrenaline GTS (since 2001); They've been great since they started.
thanks for wonderful comparision at the end!!

I was very intruiged with this one due to the new midsole, interesting to hear your thoughts on it!
Thanks! Excited to see what Brooks does with the midsole foam in the future, would like to see a lighter daily trainer using it
Another banger from TRC! Definitely seems like a shoe that I would like to try but the price puts me right off.

Switched from Novablast 2. I love Glycerine, Novablast is overrated in my opinion.

The Aurora was a bit out there at least, but they do generally have a similar look you’re right
They look classy and identity shoud remain I guess, but soucony made the worst looking shoes in my book
They're finally starting to do that.
Somewhere speed is compromised due to too much cushioning it becomes kind of heavy to lift and land smoothly
It's not a speed shoe. It's designed to be a daily trainer to eat up the miles at a steady pace.

Hoka outsoles are made of paper
Subbed, these look great but I'm only buying them for walking, hope they help my flat feet!!
Great shoe tbh amazing for the miles
Which one would you suggest between Brooks glysrine gts 20 or Brooks aderilaine gts 22 and ASICS gel kayano 28
Would these be good for marathon training in a rotation with the Saucony Speed 3s and Speed 2s as the other shoes?
How is it comparing with the venerable 19? Bouncier? More protection?
Which do you think is best? This or the Nike invincible?
Very different shoes and largely depends on your preference to soft midsoles. Maybe we'll do a video soon...
