    I ended up buying a new looking pair of these from ebay for £42 in a 25% off deal. I wear them every day. They are suberb boots. It feels amazing to wear such a high quality item. I might have to choose something lighter for a long, grinding, 3-4 week trek.

    Hi! Have you stepped on wet rocks with these? I wanna know how grippy are them and how hard or soft are the lug soles. Thanks

      Yes, I’ve used a variant of these with the exact same outsole on all kinds of terrain. They perform very well and are hard wearing .

    Weight: 1.83kg (approx) - is that heavy for these sorts of boots? I want a full grain leather boot (preferably) for hiking. Ankle support is a good feature.

      For the support and protection these provide the weight is a fair trade off. Those are the only 2 downsides as far as I can see, weight and cost.

      These are very comfortable for narrow feet

      These are true military boots for the conditions in central Europe, no hiking boots. And while you are able to march quite some miles with them on not too heavy terain if you get used to the weight, they have their limits on single trails and in winter on ice and snow. I use them and or the predessesor model on day hikes from time to time for training reasons, i woudn´t choose them for multiday tours.

      @@WolfgangAlbig Is there a boot you can recommend for wet and muddy terrain? Mainly for fields and forest, maybe some light rocky ground. I'm just a casual hiker who enjoys exploring off the main paths. My general purpose shoes really reach their limits out there so I'm looking to invest into some more appropriate footwear.

    Do these fit true to size or should I order half size larger?

    • @combatboots101
      @combatboots101  7 місяців тому +1

      I would say they’re true to size. Haix also have a feature on their site which recommends the size based on your foot length.

      I would recommend half a size larger. The shoes have a sole which you can take out. There is a marking on the sole. If your toes are over the mark, the shoes are too small for you.

      I've never had a problem with the gore tex leaking. If you wanna step it up, treat them with wax

    How flexible is the sole from 1 to 5? Thanks

    • @combatboots101
      @combatboots101  6 місяців тому +1

      If we consider a mountaneering boot with virtually no flex as 5 and a sneaker as 0, then these are a 2.5 once broken in. In my opinion.
