Stratovarius is an absolutely massive band because of songs like these. I saw them live in a small venue a couple months back, like in the middle of nowhere in Finland basically and there were people from Spain there just to see the show. I mean, yeah it is cheaper for Europeans to travel around because the EU let's all citizens move around freely, but still. It's a _long_ way to come see one show. :D

You say you love keyboards. Well, here on that very stage you just saw the guy playing, who brought keyboards into metal. He played in Rainbow once too. Stratovarius is one of those bands that raised Finland on the map of metal world. Nightwish, Children of Bodom and Sonata Arctica followed right after.
You guys should check out Sonata Arctica's song The Cage. The keyboards on that song on the studio version is performed by Jens Johansson (the keyboard player on Stratovarius).
Check Stratovarius "Find your own voice" song. Audio version. This is one of many Stratovarius masterpieces. They have lots of great ballads also. Check "Dream with me" song. It has awesome guitar solo in the end.
Stratovarius are the first big Power Metal Band from Finland and a big influence for the newer bands. Also they are one of the greatest Power Metal Bands of all time after Helloween and Blind Guardian.

Come guys. Stratovarius is classic. You should try the Infinity album or maybe the studio version. The album Visions is really cool. Search for Tribuzy. Its a band from Brazil or Raintime, 7Mazes, The Dark Element and Cyhra.

Great song! Should check out the singer's side project Kotipelto (his name is Timo Kotipelto). The album "Waiting For The Dawn" is pretty damn good. One song to check out from that is "Travel Through Time".
Sorry for such a late reply. I'd have to disagree a little bit, there are some really good stuff in this live performance. Particularly those solos (guitar, keyboard and drums) were great and much better than on the studio version, also parts of the singing felt pretty cool since at parts he sang it at a bit lower than usually, but it didn't sound that bad. I do however admit that at some times some of the key parts of the melody got swallowed up by some other instruments, but overall it was a great performance that got a lot better the further the song went
I really recommend you to also listen the studio version of this because Kotipelto never quite delivers the same singing intensity in live situations (the man is getting quite old)... If you are going to listen to more stuff from Stratovarius then Hunting High and Low is a good piece to continue :)

Who was really good with playing the guitar like this guy (Timo Tolkki) played on the video few times, was Canadian blues guitarist Jeff Healey. He was almost blind since he was 1 year old child, and when he started to practice guitar he developed his own unique way to handle the strings on his left hand. I honestly think Black Diamond is a little bit over rated and I didn't think Timo's voice was all there. I saw this performance live and while it was good, I've heard a lot better performances from them. Especially the vocals. I suggest you try Stratovarius - My Eternal Dream, which is a very good song from their latest album. A very good song and shows this band still has it after all these years.

The bassist was fired by the guitar player, because like I said, he was struggling with mental health problems and acting randomly. So basically, they were the biggest power metal band in Europe in the late 90s (I saw them in Barcelona, amazing show) then went through a lot of drama, and they're back, they're very good musicians. And the new guys are monsters. The only remaining from the original band are singer and keyboard.

As far as best power metal live performance goes, you must try Galneryus - Angle of Salvation live. Syu (the guitarist) is a beast.
