A pleasure to greet you, I am a beginner in this of the lutheria, and because in my excitement I bought 2 preamp eq-7545, I wonder if I could do the same as you with the parts of this preamp, that of removing the preamp system and making a direct connection, would I need to buy another piezo, or the one that is included functional? Excuse me if it is not understood, it is that I do not speak English, I am using Google Translater, thank you very much for the videos, I watch and watch them again and again
Hi, mine is a large concert/small tenor scale length - i suggest choosing the scale length you feel mist comfortable with and basing off that. I use this for calculating fret placement: www.stewmac.com/fret-calculator/ (or can buy pre-made and just worry about bridge placement) Thickness wise 40-60mm. I like thinner visually but around the 50-60 feels better in hand. Good luck with build.
Hi, most music shops (if you have local ones) stock a range of ukulele strings usually in sets but some stock singles. Failing that online retailers or ebay. Same deal for pickups, but for ease i usually go via ebay or occasionally AliExpress- no specific traders I have to recommend.
@@fredero76 always something in the works… just real life and time the constant. Hopefully something a bit different but not as visually polished next month. Thanks for dropping by!
Apologies- my last reply was incorrect. I thought it was for my telecaster build when I glanced at the image. I made the plans myself for this unit. Neck size is concert/tenor and fret spacing Is uke.
Hello! I love this video! It is well edited and has beautiful camera work! I am wanting to build one of these myself, and was wondering where you got the hardware and fret board?
Hi. Thanks for the nice words! Fretboards I usually make myself, but this was a premise one off eBay. Can get from various online retailers. Same deal for the rest of the hardware. Local music shops may have also or could look for a broken one in a thrift store etc and salvage bits. Good luck with your build!
Thanks. This build was a no brand piezo amp, which was not great (to the degree i removed the preamp and put in a better rod and sorted the other end of the guitar cable). I much preferred the setup I had in an earlier video ‘the mini bass ukulele with no name’. I’ll probably follow a setup more like that when i give it another crack some time. Hope the 25” goes well!
Ultimately the same yes- double twelfth. Is a small change to compensate for the bridge type and height. Here is my go to when designing them: www.stewmac.com/fret-calculator/
Hi, very basic, but here is my outline plan for this one: www.dropbox.com/s/zk1l4on69r7bsq5/solid%20body%20uke.pdf?dl=0 Another option is to get a piezo rod or disc pickup and attach to any standard ukulele also. Good luck!

Hi. I think you could do the same. You might choose to keep the preamp (with more sound adjustment) and hide it within the body cavity. Good luck!
Hi Mike, amazing job, im trying to build a similar kinda one can you please let me know the body size so that i can do the same .
Thank you

I have a question, where do you find the four string bridges and pickups

@@MikeHawkey thank you, really
Super !!!
But in the end he removed the battery and put what in its place?
The active amp was rubbish, so switched to a good piezo rod and passive unit. Still works in a typical amp but not as boosted in volume.
@@MikeHawkey Yes without the battery it no longer saturates.
Thank you for all the info !
Other projects in sight?

and the fret board scale did u use a reg guitar fret spacing or a uku fret spacing

Nice build
Ive built a few guitars and basses but my current project is a 25" scale solid body uke bass. Im curious what electronics youre using

how did you measure for the bridge placement on your solid body ukulele is it the same as a guitar from 12 fret
Ultimately the same yes- double twelfth. Is a small change to compensate for the bridge type and height. Here is my go to when designing them: www.stewmac.com/fret-calculator/
Hi! Please tell me.. were can i find drawnings, for bulding electro ukulele? 😅 So inspired to build, But cant understand, how to do it properly.

did you go by plans and where did you get the plans from
Hi, the base shape I used some plans from tdpri.com from memory, and then modified for some specific elements on this one. Thanks.
Actually sorry - I thought this was my Tele build when I replied. I made the plans for this myself.

What was the cords at 15:10
Hi, that was a C - F - C - G7 - C - F - C - G -C. You now have the power to use my default strum test song!
Don't take it to kitchen or it'll have cut marks all over it. Nice little thing.
so cool
Thanks!
sorry to ask so many question
Not a problem
nice wood work, It look nice. But that tunning machine was too cheap.
Thanks. And yes, its fairly low end!
@@MikeHawkey keep on your works. You have good talent
I am very confused. where are the pickups?
Piezo rod pickup under the bridge. Thanks for watching!
So, what you have is a 4-string, solid body guitar tuned to G-C-E-A ? Cool.
@@gotherecom no stopping anyone calling it a piccolo 4 string guitar with alternative tuning! :)
