  • This budget friendly EPROM Programmer does most of the same things and even uses the same software as my $200 model. In this video, we'll take a high level overview of what this device does.

    Having an EEPROM programmer is a nice thing to have. I have and use a few programmers. My newest one is the TS866CS, which will do some of the older roms. I also have an older and newer Willem programmer, and my old Needham EMP-10 (needs working on) I do have a SOFI SP8 for serial flash chips. The TS866 has Linux support with David Griffith's wonderful minipro command-line utility. You can also test some 40 and 74 series CMOS/TLL logic chips with the command line or the official app.

      Yeah. It's one of those things that once you have it, you find more uses for it. I'm working on an adapter that will let it do some of the higher voltage chips in the cheap one

    When he say's it's a dip, it means dual in-line package, which is dual parallel rows of pins, his pinout had 28 pins. so a 28 pin DIP is pretty common.

    I have a GQ-4X4. Supports AtTiny fuses, many EEPROMs and 27C400 with an adapter (Amiga ROMs).
    Doesn't support the GAL16V8 I needed though.

      I looked at that one. I realized I can't bring up the software of mine to see if it supports the GAL16v8. Either way, I know I'm going to run across things that mine doesn't support. Still a handy little device though.

    Hi I'm trying to program a 93c56 for my toyota. I bought a t48 on Amazon which is suppose to replace this older unit but it doesn't seem to work even after trying 3 different functional 93c56 eeproms in it. Should I purchase a t56 in your opinion or look into one of these older tl866ii plus that appear to be duplicates of the original?

    I have a question or two about the TL866. I am trying to program several AM2716 EPROMS. I can not do that, even though I can select it, in my XGPro software. The problem is it requires a 25VPP
    when programming and the TL866 only goes up to 18VPP. So, I was wondering what the small provided jumper wire cable is used for. Can I add an external 9V power supply to this?
    I am looking at the T56 as it does seem to be able to produce the needed 25VPP. Is there anyway to get me TL866II Plus to program these EPROMS???

    Can I use this program with any kind of rom burner? Or it has to be the specific model in your video?

    • @AnotherMaker
      @AnotherMaker  2 роки тому

      I think the XGPro software only works with Xgeco burners. I have 2 different models and they both use the same software. The burner needs to be plugged in when you start the program or it works in demo mode. So the software is free, but the hardware isn't.
