- The finch breeding season has finally come to an end and most of the birds have been split up and are resting, but my job as a breeder is never over. Now I find myself handfeeding 30 small baby birds 🤦♂️

I've hand fed hundreds of birds in my 40 years of birdkeeping. From zebra finches to cockatiels. It's too tiresome but very rewarding. ❤

I wish I would have gone with white cages after seeing your setup but black was cheaper. I can go 5 high but I need to figure lights out lower cages don't get much so I keep birds up high until I design something

If you spend time with them they get tame. My gouldian finches are tame all come and land on me when I go in the aviary. They were all parent reared, but got used to me...and are very curious to see what I am doing, especially if I have shopping in bags from the market.
Your birds in the bird room and aviary are scared of you because they don't get to be with you long enough every day.
Very nice man… Your setup is amazing bud. I can only imagine what it be like feeding and doing chores there. I’m like the Flintstones compared but I’m slowly getting there. But just remember, if you wanna keep them tamed, make sure that once they’re at the fledgling age, you keep every single one of them in an individual setup until they’re weaned.

I need help, I recently found a baby bird in my front yard and have fed it the oatmeal egg mix from a previous video of yours, how often should I feed it, and is there anything else I should know?
It all depemds on the age of the bird, the older they get the longer they can go in between feedings. Also keep inmind that the mix I showed in that video is used as an emergency when no other food sources are available. If possible always best to buy a commercial handfeeding formula that has all the nutrients the chicks need to develope correctly.
