Good movie but Oliver Stone missed the mark by A MILE with the David Byrne music in the beginnings of the film. Way out of place!!! Almost unwatchable at times because of it ..........
You know what's crazy, I bought 20th century Fox shares back when I watched this (10k worth of stock), We had an annual average of 9.4% increase in stock value and the dividends are untouched, It's a healthy sum of money now!
totally disagree at the end of the first film Bud Fox goes to jail but does he it is Gordon Gekko that goes to jail and at the start of the film it is Gekko that comes out of jail and carry on
Isn't it so much coincidence that the "Wolf" also got arrested and now is very popular selling books and giving motivational talks, just like the character of the movie Wall Street. It is like if this movie was made to criticize how things turns out to the Wolf, from being a convicted criminal to a famous business man and role model.
Nice movie. I want to compare the savage go-getter attitude of Thomas Belesis and the so much calm, educated approach of the Chinese. Although they are in different kinds of meetings, just picture how Belesis would have behaved in that meeting with the Chinese: not much different. How ironic, Belesis was processed for breaking the law in real life, while China has been a steady growing economy, coming from knowing nothing about capitalism. We should not be dumb to go forth and like a Belesis attitude so much.
so to cook an easter pie one takes an easy Super Bowl add there some special ingredients and make it as Hard as a final Cup. WOW as someone used to say dellawaya callbasa mniamkay mniamkay dietvora.
Would someone besides Oliver Stone write and direct a movie about Wall Street, please? The first one was almost decent but this sequel is often painful to watch. Perhaps better casting, that creepy self indulgent Prius driving boney waif is painful to watch. I had such high hopes with Shia Labeouf, maybe get rid of Brian Eno/David Byrne Talking Heads music and all the split screens and cameo fluff, maybe an R rating next time.
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (also known as Wall Street 2 or Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps) is a 2010 American drama film directed by Oliver Stone, a sequel to Wall Street (1987). It stars Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf, Josh Brolin, Carey Mulligan, Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon and Eli Wallach in his final film role. The film takes place in New York, 23 years after the original, and revolves around the 2008 financial crisis. Its plot centers on a reformed Gordon Gekko, played by Douglas, acting as an antihero rather than a villain, and follows his attempts to repair his relationship with his daughter Winnie (Mulligan), with the help of her fiancé, Jacob Moore (LaBeouf). Principal photography took place in New York between September and November 2009. After having its release date moved twice, Money Never Sleeps was released theatrically worldwide on September 24, 2010, by 20th Century Fox. Prior to its official release, many journalists connected to the financial industry were reportedly shown advance screenings of the film. Despite opening to positive reception at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, Money Never Sleeps received mixed reviews from critics. Though failing to meet its critical expectations, the film was successful at the box office, topping the United States's ranking during its opening weekend, and earning a worldwide total of $134 million in ticket sales, and more than $15 million on DVD.
