  • In this segment of this outdoor kitchen build tutorial, I will show you how I install stone veneer. I apply about 180 square feet of stack ledge stone to cinderblock. Along the way I share all of the tips and tricks that I learned. I also install a surround to the exposed pizza oven base to meet the stone veneer, and create a nice finished look. If you are a DIY guy like me, and you want to see what is involved in installing stone veneer, check out this video.

The best build of oven on UA-cam for me. Iam getting starting in few weeks to rebuild exact that oven. So I want to say thank you for that support and many details I was searching for. Best regards from Germany

"At some point you are going to say screw it and start installing direct to the wall" Mind reader, predicting my actions like some bulls eye magnet.

Looks awesome, as someone in the landscape construction/ masonry field. The one thing I’d recommend is to avoid having a joint where 4 corners touch like at 1:33, use a longer piece to break that up. Small detail that’s not really noticeable, but it’s a general rule of thumb with stonework that isn’t in a tile pattern. Same goes for patios.

Exactly what I came to say. He should have also done something different with the transition from the brick to the stone at the end of the video. The straight line transition is a bad look, and would be a weak point if it was structural

Looks Awesome, I just built a U shaped wall & am going to apply same stone veneer.... Notice you didn't apply a scratch coat? I tried a scratch coat on one small section but it just crumbled... I think I'm going to use your method. You used just standard Type S right?

Astro masonry in deer park. They had a nice selection of stone in different price ranges, and they weren’t rude when you ask them for help. I have found over the years that a lot of these places don’t want to be bothered with random walk-ins because they make most of their money from contractors.

That’s because you are not Italian. In my town of origin, this is a right of passage.
