One thing I disagree with you on is the winner of the conference finals not meaning anything. Speaking as a Habs fan, but specifically a Carey Price fan, I feel so much pain and sadness for Carey Price that he never won a cup in his career. He played well enough and stole enough games in his career to deserve one, but was always brought down over his career by the rest of the team. So for him to win the conference final in his last "full" season, for what it's worth, is at least something. Obviously the cup would be preferable, but the conference is better than nothing as a way to recognize his talents.

Glad you mentioned no one standing up for Nylander. That was pathetic. Secondly, the amount of spit flying out of Steve's mouth just tells you how mad he was 😂
if we have to watch Auston pull this team through the mud, it's going to be a very, very long season. All night, Klingberg looked like he was reminiscing about a bad break up back in high school, passively playing hockey in the meantime. Having some grit towards the end of bench does have it's benefits, although it definitely doesn't help with defending. As far as I'm concerned, we aren't serious contenders and we haven't been in many, many years. In my opinion, the only way this is going to change is to build the team's structure around it's defensive core; as well as picking up a goalie who is relatively reliable.
I was at the Marlies game on Sunday against the Utica comets and yeah Robertson looked fantastic, and as far as it goes for another call up the leafs should consider, Kyle Clifford the man tried to fight the entire Utica comets team at one point, if we need actual toughness I think he's the guy

This might be weird, but I wonder how many Leafs watch your videos Steve, or the benefits of them to watch it. Not to listen to you specifically, but to understand that this is the emotions of true maple Leafs fans. The fans that no matter what will be with this team to the end, but what we see and what we feel. I watched the game with the wife who’s not a hockey fan but it’s been a busy week and she wanted to spend some time together. She commented on domi especially during the first and klingberg not looking good and I was like you sure you’re not a hockey fan? You nailed it
I know it’s only 4 games into the season, but I predicted before the season that the leafs would not make the playoffs when everybody said that they would win the division. My prediction still stands as of now.
The rant at the end of this is awesome 👏
Also, I’ve been following nick for a bit, and it’s really exciting to see him moving up. Marlie Minutes are exciting so far!!
Is it weird that I look forward to these, win or lose, more than I look forward to the games themselves?
"Winning the conference doesn't matter !"
...but we should all bow to the team that FINALLY made it to the 2nd round.
Where did he say that?
@@SandK7 The Confrence things ? Look around 15:45
That defense is bad man. Our B team defense shredde you - panthers fan
I feel so justified in being upset at the Klingberg and Reaves signing so far…
Well good for you
@@chamber32doors Like, I was so annoyed on Canada Day when those two signings hit the headlines
Great video as always Steve
The Leafs franchise has never been to the fourth round of the playoffs, ever.
Ok, hopefully not the only one, but I've completely missed the joke.
@@csolivais1979the Maple Leafs have never made the fourth round because they haven't made a final since before there were four playoff rounds.
3rd either actually
@@Blinsten I believe the Leafs have been to the 3rd round a few times, just not past.
@@Marixa1979 no they haven't check they're seasons
Leafs need a real D core.
Glad you mentioned no one standing up for Nylander. That was pathetic.
Secondly, the amount of spit flying out of Steve's mouth just tells you how mad he was 😂
A third of the line up is new players.. an its game 4. Takes time for players to connect
Detroit has like 4 or 5 new guys and has done well. Debrincat leads the league in points
@@JarradBruessel32 @game 4, cool. Literally means nothing lol
at 1:14, I really thought Steve would mention the sympathetic lizard ad at the board 🤣🤣
if we have to watch Auston pull this team through the mud, it's going to be a very, very long season.
4 games in and I’m already tired of this team and it’s bullshit
😂😅😑
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 LEAFS SUCK
I was at the Marlies game on Sunday against the Utica comets and yeah Robertson looked fantastic, and as far as it goes for another call up the leafs should consider, Kyle Clifford the man tried to fight the entire Utica comets team at one point, if we need actual toughness I think he's the guy
Robertson isn't a NHL player.
Thank you Steve.
The Nick Robertson needing a fresh start?? Can we talk about how he's only a year older than Knies
Hes still very young
Steve we miss your dang it’s and hat picks. I dunno if it’s a contract issue but please bring some of that content back. Best, most honest league coverage every week. Hope your leafs do well, but still. Bring back yelling at goalies for leaving the crease! 😂
Stevie your too good of a guy to get so upset. Am glad you see what many of the fans see though. Leafs doing leafs things. New faces in new nunbers. Leaves falling currently in autumn and later in the spring.
Apreciate your efforts ! Go habs go! ;)😊
I needed this video, also Robertson
I can't wait for the Leafs vs Ducks recap if the Ducks win. Last year's video after the Ducks beat the leafs was the funniest imo
you literally called reinhart getting 50
Leafs are not a hungry team. Panthers are.
LFR being almost old enough to vote is wild. I've been watching this guy for 12 years lol
The whole purpose of the changes was to increase the "grind" aspect of the Leafs. Last game was like watching the Leafs getting run over last spring.
I'm honestly convinced this lack of toughness is being reinforced by coaching. It's the same reason why Schenn❤ went quiet in the playoffs and no one went after the Panther who took Knies out last season...
Maybe not coaching, maybe by shannahan though?
Take both and play both as we can't be any worse. Else we can kiss this season goodbye
This might be weird, but I wonder how many Leafs watch your videos Steve, or the benefits of them to watch it. Not to listen to you specifically, but to understand that this is the emotions of true maple Leafs fans. The fans that no matter what will be with this team to the end, but what we see and what we feel. They don't have to listen to us for pointers, but I think getting a perspective of us would get them to understand. I love our Leafs, they can do special things, but What they lack for so long that we want is just to see glimpse of the same emotions that us fans show every day. You are amazing Steve and you are the looking glass of a typical Leaf fan that the whole world sees, I just wish the Leafs themselves see this and understand.
I think Steve might hit a new octave vocal range with the questions this year…
If leafs were capable of winning a conference Dangle would never shut up about it. what a goon
"Same Ol' Leafs" being SOL as an acronym is so fitting.
Keefe is such a Mid Coach this Guy DOES NOT ADAPT he gets OUT COACHED BY EVERYONE IN THE NHL 😂
I blame Marner and the other leaders. It’s the style they play with that lulls his own team to sleep. It’s hard to get physically motivated when the stars play pickup hockey.
Star plays for the lafs got the bag and could give less of a damn about winning a cup but what they dont realize is that individual accolades dont mean shit when you dont win a cup
This is what 1967 does to a MF
Not gonna lie the boys aren’t guaranteed a playoff spot this year
The plus is the Maple Leafs live rent free in a lot of other fan bases heads.
As a Leaf fan, I think when the leafs actually win a conference final, we can say Florida winning one means nothing. Until then, we have nothing
Havnt been able to see much of the leafs play this season, but holy sht is steve is 100% in mid-season form!!!😂😂😂
I do think that if Toronto won the conference championship that we would hear about all next season.
"As a launching point."
