I did a spending freeze for 2024. It came naturally after I embraced minimalism. I was able to pay off my new car in 11 months. Now I am able to save for my children's college funds, with my oldest starting in 2025! I was also able to buy a Christmas present for a teenager from the giving tree at my church. I love your channel and Dawn's too! My mom, my sister, and my aunt love watching you as well. Keep up the awesome work!

My husband has been out of work since June of this year and yet we have not missed a single bill or lacked for anything we needed. The Lord has been our Jehovah Jireh and He has provided for emergencies before we even knew we would need it. We have had to make changes to our spending to be good stewards of what He has provided but we have not gone without. And now He has provided my husband with a working opportunity that challenges him and gives him freedom to make his own schedule. God is absolutely and always Good!!

Hi Diana! I've been really working on gratitude for God's blessings, trust in his provisions and being worthy of them, because financially I am struggling and its very stressful. This week I won 50$ on my football board and the next day work informed me that our Christmas bonus is being doubled this year. Another $100. And that this month I will be receiving a substantial raise. God really does provide! I feel so blessed this morning, I'm going to a Toys for Tots fundraiser, with my grocery money to spread some JOY! Stress free!!!🙏😘

❤ since my husband had a heart attack in August we have watched our spending God has provided in amazing ways!! We believe in tithing and have for years, He had someone give us 40 lbs deer meat, a gift card for groceries, a box of food each month! And He had prepared us for something a few years ago, I had started stocking up on basic stuff we use all the time, coffee, canned goods, soap, etc! Thank you for encouragement, I love listening to your advice!!

I learned to trust in the Lord many years ago when my husband and I were both in college. Our church was planning a women's weekend event (don't remember the particulars) and I needed $20.00 Back in 1978 that was a lot, especially for a poor college student. I prayed and asked for the Lord to provide if he wanted me to go to this weekend event. Several days later, I was standing at the bus stop in the cold and snow. Several people stepped onto the bus before me. Just as I was getting ready to step onto the bus, my eye caught something in the snow. I bent down and picked up a $20.00 bill. Just what I needed to be able to go to the women's weekend event! God provided. My husband and I have been married now for 48 years. God has continued to provide. He never disappoints!

Hi! I was recently made redundant. This really made me re-evaluate my spending. It opened my eyes to the fact I was working to be able to consume. I am now looking for a job with less hours so I can better take care of myself rather than have an excess of products that I don’t actually need. God bless you and thank you for sharing this lesson.

I love this. I went down to 3 days of work this winter to work on myself. I absolutely love it. Going through all my stuff and taking what I don’t need to the thrift store. Less is so much more. My paycheck has been smaller cause I’m self employed but I’m spending less and now saving for retirement.

Learning to tithe, give, and live more open handed has proven God to be faithful to provide and bless. We give to give, not give to get, but honestly He has given back richly. We cannot outgive the giver of every good and perfect gift.

My sister and I did a 3 month financial fast. We were not to buy anything "extra," and if we did a portion of the amount spent, was to be donated to our church or a charity. It was a very good process for us. I think we need to do it again!

I’ve found that it’s easy to get a myopic/self-focused perspective when we have money issues. The Bible tells us that, “ where are treasure is there our heart will be also. So store it for yourself treasures in heaven where moth and rust do not destroy…”.
I had a great pastor that taught that, when you feel the most in need and worried about how God is going to come through for you, that’s the perfect time to give and serve. It helps you to focus on others and the bigger picture. To be servants and ambassadors of Christ. It also helps you realize what you have. To have the joy of giving and serving. That leads to contentment and recalling God’s faithfulness.

Diana, I absolutely loved this and so much of it rings true in my heart. I love that you spoke of stewardship. We are all stewards in many ways. All of our possessions truly come from God. We become stewards of them and must be mindful of how we use that. We are stewards within our own family - over our children, etc. HE has given us so much and He wants us to show humility and gratitude. I LOVE the story of the young rich ruler. As you mentioned, he approached Jesus and asked what more he could do as he has followed all of the commandments. He comes before the Lord and specifically asks him, “What Lack I yet?”. Jesus then responds go sell all you have, give it to the poor and come follow me. In studying this chapter I realized we can all come before the lord and ask the same - what lack I yet? What do I need to work on next to nearer to thee? I hesitantly put this to the test for fear I too would be asked do do some really hard thing like giving away my home and living in a tent or something like that. But you know what Heavenly Father knows us each so well. As I prayed and asked humbly “what lack I yet” I had a thought come to my mind to call my friend and offer to watch her baby so she and her husband could attend a special church service. It wasn’t really hard - it was a few hours of serving my friend so she could spend time with her husband and the Lord. I felt good that I was able to help her in a small way by giving up some of my time to serve her family. A week or so later she approached me and said how much it meant to her to have had that time as she had been secretly struggling with something ( she lost a baby) but hadn’t told anyone. She questioned God and had been praying to find peace and comfort. She said how offering to watch her son enabled her to spend time in a sacred place and receive an answer to her prayer. Although this was not related to finances, in a way it was as it was serving and helping and trying to see what I could do to draw one step nearer to my Heavenly Father. So Heavenly Father showed me that He is aware of me and my friend also received her answers. As a result, we both strengthened our relationship with God. Just wanted to share that story as God knows exactly where we are and what we need next. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus
Christ. I know any effort to strengthen that relationship we will be blessed with in increase in peace and true joy. I am grateful for wonderful people like you who uplift others and challenge others to do a little better. Nothing huge but just a little better. Thank you Diana!!!❤

Month after month I've cut back as much as I can and the only thing I can cut back on now is my food budget, the numbers don't add up, I can't pay everything but yet every month I do, it's impossible but God is making it work. I try not to worry God has proven that he's got me covered, it's hard but I have to remind myself of how I've been taken care of in the past and not worry, I can trust him ❤

I think the most rewarding lesson I have learned is that the best things in life isn't things. I used to like "stuff". Now I realize how little that stuff did to give me joy. The things of God are what brings joy. Praying, reading the Bible, helping those in need, knowing that our lives are not our own and that we are here to serve. It took awhile but I finally got here and have a ways to go, but I'll get there too. The tragic situation in Western NC and Tn really helped me to see that everything we think we own could be gone in a moment. Then where would I be? What would I depend on? Without God, it's all vanity.

Diana, You are such a blessing! My husband and I took part in Crown Financial Ministries several years ago. They teach that everything comes from God and we are only stewards of what is given to us. If we look at the money we have as God's, and we are just managing it for Him, we really are aware of how we spend. It changed our lives for sure. And, I have seen so many blessings when we strive to be good stewards.

Dianna , we’re always on a financial fast. We’ve been doing for so long it doesn’t even feel like a fast, but merely the exercise of stewardship. And “financial instability?” Pshaw! We’re so blessed that it’s insane. We’ve been able to eliminate consumer credit debt a little at a time (with a lot of help from Promise Keepers advice) and STAY out, by exercising care and thoughtfulness in spending. We’re so much better off than when we got together, and consider every penny that comes through the door a rich and honored blessing. And speaking of blessings, you and Dawn are so instrumental in fine tuning our lives and household! We truly appreciate your love, prayers, encouragement and the time you spend, sharing your thoughts and energy with the rest of your followers.

Thank you so much for your simple guidance. One statement that got me was that "Giving to God is not a percentage but about the condition of the heart." Its easier to give a percentage than to give everything to God in worship. Percentage can become a work that is detached from love and worship. I'm starting today to be closer to Jesus by worshipping him with my finances. I'll let you know what happens. God bless you. ❤

I needed this: encouragement financially speaking..
Each year I typically go Christmas decor all out (for what that pertains to me) but this year my ADHD/ADD wife n mom brain has been really struggling with the “noise” of clutter and chaos. And I just felt that I will … my whole family will be ok with scaling back and bringing it back to the simple, warm cozy that it once used to be when I was younger and had the energy and mind space ..
I never thought to look at spending as worship but it makes sense.. given that everything given to us is from HIM.. and we should always be mindful of ourselves and how we worship HIM, especially when He calls us to be Holy just as He is HOLY.
This was an encouraging video and thank you for sharing ..

I'm careful with my spending. My husband and I live within our means and tithe, but what I realized is that that didn't mean that I was spending worshipfully! My heart was not necessarily in the frugality, and I even found that focusing on being frugal made my heart stingy, which then made it seem dry rather than rich and joyful. Your message inspired me to renew my prayers to seek the LORD and treat the money as a tool or afterthought to that!

Also, I used to have much less money and I made it a goal to do one act of service or one kind act a day and I never felt so happy in my life. Every need I had was provided for and abundantly. • @DianaKokku

Hi Elizabeth, it’s based on my study of things like blessings, rewards and gifts in the Old Testament vs the New Testament. When Jesus speaks about “like abundantly” for example, the implication is spiritual blessing like peace, joy and hope. But the promise remains the Lord will supply our needs for food and clothing as well!

@DianaKokku thank you Diana. I just don't want people to think God is only interested in our spiritual health. I'm into Biblical healing, and I encounter 99% of people who believe God will only help us with spiritual health but they think God wants us sick and broke until we get to heaven. It's very sad that people will only trust doctors to heal them because they think God even GAVE them the illness. God gets a bad rap lots of times.
