      Anyone who has "no idea what a gamechanger Bowers will be" does not watch or even remotely follow football. Don't mean to come off as an ass, just pointing out that Bowers was/is considered the most exciting TE prospect possibly in history and the fact he dropped to 13 is nothing but testament to how stacked/QB heavy this draft class was. For someone not to know that, especially by now, means they simply must not pay any attention to the sport 😂
      I too cannot wait to see him play and wish him nothing but success though. Dude has the opportunity to be extremely special

    Brock Bowers is Hunter Renfrow’s replacement. He’s basically a much tougher and more athletic Hunter Renfrow.

    • @fattychopper
      @fattychopper Місяць тому

      This is a bad take. Hunter was great for his own reason. smart player, great route runner, and relied on that to be successful despite being undersized. Bowers is an athletic monster with size and speed. Bowers is closer to waller than renfrow. Probably better than both. We'll see.

    Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer are good indicators of the Raiders trending in the right direction. I first started following the Raiders back in 1967 and for twenty years they were one of the most elite teams in the NFL...and I daresay the most feared. (I thought the would always be that way which makes the last 24 years so difficult). In those days they always had a superior tight end....Billy Cannon, Raymond Chester, Dave Casper (also out of Notre Dame) and Todd Christensen. So having the two best tight ends out of college is a step in the right direction. (Mayer is up to 265 lbs now, so he is a really big tight end.) The other aspect was back in those days the Raiders had, without a doubt, the most intimidating defense in all of football....hence a reputation for being dirty, which they actually took pride in. It's looking good....but got to see it on the field...these last 24 years have been painful.

      Look, as a huge fan of the AFC west as a whole. Football is soo much better when the Raiders are good. They really personify being the bad guys of the NFL, and going back to watch those teams of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s? Its a whole different type of football that they played. Though the game has changed since those Era's, I really believe that the Raiders can still be that intimidating bad guy of the NFL. I think that's personally why I love the organization and its history. I love the tough, cheating, dirty, hit you, kick you while your down and hurt you kind of intimidation the Raiders brought on defense. The best part about this year to me is, I really think that their defense definitely has the pieces to bring that intimidation, not just in saying or by the looks of the players, but the way they play on the field. Which is exactly why the Raiders defenses of the past were truly feared. They didn't just talk the talk, they could walk on the field and shut some of the best offenses in the NFL down. Anyway, like you said, we have to see it to believe it! I'm hoping that defense really does look like the Raiders of Ol'.

      Totally agree my friend, I've been a fan since 1963, just after Rad Hickey broke up the Million Dollar Backfield. You and I were lucky devils, in that we got to enjoy the Raiders in their prime. But we're now going to start a new Raider's Prime! AP reminds me of Tomlin, and I believe he and TT are going to set this league on fire. They have the GOAT as a part owner now, and I think that bodes well for our future. Get out the Kool Aid, and drink to our teams future!😍😄

    See that where everybody messed up on thier Raiders Mock draft.They never needed a QB & still don't.Of course they would love to have Daniels,but they never NEEDED him.Watching O'Connell's tape from Purdue & his last few games when you know,you know the world just do not know,yet. O'Connell's not going to be wanted by the fans, but he is going to be too good to get rid of or just good enough not to get rid of which is how his career has went.I love having Minshew as a back up.Normally I wouldn't go out on a limb for most players cuz anything can happen,a person can never tell how much effort another human is going to give, but I got a feeling about this kid.

    As someone who follows Raider's news every day for the last few years. Bowers, Mayer and Bryant are going to be so hard to defend, especially in the redzone. With DA, Jakobi, and Tre, this offensive core is so insane. We just have to hope that Getsy and the QB room performs. Our OL is top 12-15 in the league. It is really determined on play calling and quarterback play whether we get deep in the playoffs. I have no doubts for our Defense, we will be just fine if we put points on the board.

    O'connell showed many great traits last year. Kid can go through his reads on 3rd down complete the pass and aint afraid to get hit. Thats the hardest thing as a rookie and he showed it more than once. Alpha leader intelligent qb with enough of an arm to open the playbook. Hes got a way better arm than minshew. Bowers was the best or 2nd best player in previous draft him or MHJ. We got a steal.
