It's funny to see people naming the athlete "Quad King" for one can "land" quads. Guys, a quad jump of quality is not only about "landing" it. It's about difficult entry, CLEAN TAKE OFF, integrate with the music, axis (tight air position), etc. An athlete didn't fall from a quad does not equal a well-executed jump.......
@@mooony94 ...well, let's give Yuzu's fans some credit for saying that he's on another level. I mean, he does have the craziest, most fanatical fangirls around. That should count for something.
@Tarot lilith linares...not all Yuzuru fans are terrible. I'm sure there are very kind, respectable Yuzuru fans but, as you can see for yourself in these comments, there are plenty of nasty/extremists who can't stand their idol losing and feel the need to constantly spread conspiracy theories and tear down Nathan in order to boost their own skater. It's kind of funny how some of them keep trashing the guy who can, over and over again, beat the guy they supposedly think is the best ever. You don't have to prefer Nathan. In fact, you don't even have to like his skating. At least show a little courtesy and respect. Everyone has their own biases and preferences. I'm sure that to your grandmother, to you, and to Yuzuru's other fans, he's the very best. Not everyone feels that way though.
He has always been on a completely different level, above and beyond the race of scores & medals. There's a reason he is the greatest figure skater of the century. Only empty jumps, crossovers, inflated scores, 5ake world records, and gifted medals don't make one the GOAT.
Nathan can do more type of jumps than hanyu. But sal, axel, loop, toe, yuzu normally gets higher goe. Nathan always wins his skate with highest difficult jumps bv, which are flip and lutz. Hope yuzu can do flip and more consistent lutz in furure. Then only, yuzu can win over nathan, when both of them skate in clean programs. Im waiting for yuzu quad axel, nathan consistent quad loop too... Hope both of them stay healthy and skate clean in this world 2021.
They get similar GOE on toe and sal, Nathan gets higher GOE on 4Lz (and 4F by default). Hanyu gets higher GOE on the 3A (4L by default since Nathan rarely works on it.)
I don't think Yuzuru can do quad flip and Lutz now, considering he injured himself in 2018 due to practicing quad lutz, and over the past 4 years I don't think Yuzuru has had 4F or 4Lz planed in his programs. I would like to guess his ankle wouldn't allow him to do 4Lutz or 4F now
@@ppnexus2000 so that's the problem, obviously yuzuru have a better toe and sal, but judges dont award the correct goe, yuzuru's should get goe +4~5 and nathan around +3~4

Interesting to see all the comments against Nathan saying things like he does not do jumps with proper technique. Too funny since Nathan has CRUSHED all his opponents since the 2018 Olympics.
Funny. According to some of the Yuzu fans, Nathan can't do anything, period, since he has no artistry, and now he can't seem to jump properly either. Poor Nathan. Going by what Yuzu fans say about him, he must always be losing and in last place.
nathan has flawless technique. anyone who says otherwise is blind, dumb or a fanyu, or maybe all three. Nathan even has better 4S technique than Hanyu's and edge jumps are not his specialty
Is it just me or Nathan 3A in Skate America had too much prerotation even for an axel jump? His left foot position when he left the ice was already backward. I don't remember he ever has this technique before.
@@Gemini530 oh yeah my bad. I went to check the degree of pre rotations allowed with axles (up to 180°) and from what I can see, Nathen Chen's appears to be within the acceptable range.

Yuzuru and Nathan are both good skaters and can do jumps, no problem. But I watch Yuzuru's program repeatedly. Other skaters I watch once or fast forward.... I like to watch a performance that tells a story and has smooth flow , and Yuzuru does it. So no point comparing. Also Figure skaters' age, and jumping gets more difficult for them, due to accumulation of injuries and wear and tear on their bodies That is why figure skaters "retire" from competitive skating young. The body of a younger skater can do more jumps, that's a given. The difference is the presentation of the whole package, artistry, technical, music, overall look. Yuzuru has this complete package, that is why to watch him skate is like watching a concern, a performance, not just a competition. Of course, every skater can always improve on this and if you are an avid figure skating fan, you can watch and compare all of the previous skaters and compare how the sport has changed and evolved over the years. I do not want to comment about the Judging System of ISU, it makes my blood pressure rise, so i end here.:)
I think bc Yuzu's entry was more difficult than Nathan's , and Yuzu stood on his landing leg after the landing longer than nathan did (but idk if that contributes to GOE)
Yuzuru’s 3A is much bigger than Nathan’s both height and distance wise. The entry Yuzuru does in his 3A, the back counter, is very difficult bc axel is a forward jump but he jumps it from a back entry which slows his pace going into it and makes it almost like a stand still. And the sound is mute in this but his landing is right on the musical note too. Actually Yuzuru’s score on that 3A is even lower than what he deserves while Nathan was fairly scored.
I don't think Nathan is landing on ice smoothly. That of him is stopping the trace that should be smooth. In terms of artistry, spin, flexible position and small movements to the rhythm, Nathan does not reach Hanyu's perfection. So Nathan has no choice but to jump Lutz and Flip.
@Tarot lilith linares...no thanks. We like Nathan for NOT being like Yuzuru. Nathan has his own style and it's why he has his own fanbase. Enjoy Yuzuru the way he is, and we'll enjoy Nathan exactly the way he is.
@Tarot lilith linares...I was just poking at the Yuzuru fans who are always tearing Nathan down as a "jumper" and someone who's not an artist. They're always speaking from their high horse as if artistry is what should matter here so it's totally ironic to me that, now, their idol is the one completely obsessed with a jump. Those same fans should go tell Yuzuru to not focus on jumps, that he should be focusing on artistry instead.
