Thanks Jordan, exactly what I needed to know for these shoes. I was wondering since I love to order online and I recently tried on a pair of Mizuno's which I also read they could run a bit small, yet they didn't, they were true to size. Still now, I feel confident to order half size up in these asics, cheers from Belgium and all the best with the channel !
Hello my friend! Thank you for the support, it means more to me than you would ever know! I hope the Mizuno's and Asicss workout. Nothing like a fresh pair of runners. Stay safe and healthy my friend!
@@kickinit7018 my pleasure ! Glad to know it's appreciated ~ the Mizuno's didn't work out for me, but I'm in love with the Saucony Guide 14 (also as a daily walking shoe, since I only recently found out I overpronate) and I will also try on a pair of their Omni 20's, exciting :D Thank you and take care as well, brother !
I think that happens with almost every sneaker out there. I have bump into different sizes depending on the style and brand. For example, I am a 7 for New Balance, 8 for Brooks and 7.5 for Asics although the 7 for Asics fits me tight on the left foot more than the right. I think my right foot is a bit smaller than the left.
Hello my friend, you are absolutely correct! It is funny you mention that about the one foot being smaller than the other because I have the same issue haha.
My last shoe (a while ago) was a size US 11 in a GT-2000 4. I am now looking at the Gel Kayano 28 or 29. Would you recommend me get a US 11 as well in the Kayano?
Hi Jordan, Thanks for informative videos you make especially for newbies like me. Im an Australian size 7 (with neutral arch i assume) went to invest in good runners today because my previous unnamed brand of runners started causing pain in my left heal. So i have never had asics or new balance runners before. The retail worker at Athelete’s foot shop made me walk on a ramp and said according to the machine im size 7.5 and suggested to go 1/2 size up which was 8. But she only had wide fit in kayano 28. So from other shop i bought size US 8, i tried US 7.5 and that fit too with some space in-front of big toe nail. But now im confused whether to buy US size 7.5 or 8 for kayano 28. I bought size 8 in new balance 1080v11 too and not sure if it’s the right size for me or I should get US 7.5. My Australian size is 7 and European 38 in other types of shoes, whether US size 7.5 is best for me or 8 im confused as both felt comfortable for a brief moment i wore and walked around in shop. Can you please advise me on this
Hey Samra! I hope you've been well! Oh man that's a tough one it's always hard getting sizing right. Asics is a smaller fitting brand so you definitely want to go a half size up. Whether 7.5 or 8 I'm not too sure. When I use to work retail this is what I would do. I'd get a customer to try on a 7.5 on one foot and an 8 on the other! If you can buy both sizes and then bring them home to walk inside or even go a gym for a quick 3 minute run on a treadmill (won't scuff the shoes), you can run or walk with a size on each foot. This I think will help you best determine, and once you know which fits, you can return the other 🙏 Let me know what you think 😁
Hey my friend, I have always been a 10.5 in most other shoes but with Asics I go with size 11. If you used the 25 in size 10.5, the 28 should be good in 10.5 as well. The only recent model that fit extremely smaller was the Kayano 26.
Hey! Jordan, my foot size is somewhere between 26cm to 27cm, I don’t know the exact centimetres. Would 28.0cm in Asics Gel Kayano 28 Platinum be an issue?
Hey Jordan, I bought a pair of Gel Kayano 26 and I found the fit to be narrow for my size US 7.5 women. I am thinking of ordering a pair of Gel Kayano 27 as they are on sale. Should I buy half a size up?
Hi there Ishrat, I hope you have been well! Before I answer this question, I have a question for you! Was the Gel-Kayano 26 your first Asics shoe ever, or have you worn Asics before and always sported a US 7.5 in Asics?
@@kickinit7018 Hey Jordan, I doing well I hope you are too. Yeah the Gel Kayano 26 was my first Ascis shoe ever. Like after running above 3km my toes started to hurt and they lacked breathability.
@@ishratnaiyer4260 Thank you for letting me know. Okay so, the Gel-Kayano 26 was an odd shoe like I said because it was built a bit smaller. Nonetheless, even if you are going for the 27, i'd recommend you go a half size up to a women's 8. The reason being that from my experience working retail, I noticed that for many people Asics is a smaller fitting brand. I have helped many customers over my retail experience who on their first Asics purchase ever needed to go half a size bigger than what they are use to. Now you can go automatically with a half size up, but my BEST recommendation to you is to try these on in store. If you can go into a store, and find a Gel-Kayano 27 size 7.5 and a Gel-Kayano 27 size 8, this would be perfect. What you want to do is put the 7.5 on one foot and the 8 on the other and take a nice walk to see which feels better. I use to do this with customers all the time to help them figure out which size they preferred. I know here in Toronto, Asics does free returns online, so if your region does the same you can even order both ONLINE to see which feels better. That is the best solution if you are comfortable to be absolutely sure. If you aren't comfortable with that, definitely just go with the half size up then. Let me know what you think :)!
Thank you Jordan for your suggestions. I will be buying the Gel Kayano 27 from Toronto via a friend. Although, I am willing to order it online from the Ascis official website,, the gel kayano 27 seem to be unavailable in the website. Should I ask my friend to get it from the store? Or there are other trust worthy websites from where I can order.
Sorry for the delayed response my friend, the Holiday season is crazy busy. I would go with your size for the Gel-Kayano 27, as the Gel-Kayano 26 was famous for being built short in length. Many people had to half size up with that shoe.
Sorry for the late reply my friend Work has been killing me. I'd recommend you get your Asics size! Now if you've never worn Asics before I recommend a half size up from your regular size 🙏
Sorry for the delayed response my friend. This is usually a personal preference thing, I typically like to have about half a thumbs worth of room. I've met people who like to have the full thumb, it'll depend on what's more comfortable for you! Definitely not less than half a thumb though, then tour toes will start hitting the front of the runner as you move and this is how tearing happens! Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions 🙏
Thank you! Your videos help so much when we have to shop Asics online.
Thanks for this. Took me hours to find someone that talk about sizing comps.

I was a size 9.5 in Kayano 24s and tried the Kayano 28 in store 9 wide, 9.5 and 10. And 9 wide was the most comfortable fit.
I'm size 9 UK but they don't have my size just 8.5 or 9.5 what one should I choose?

I was a 10 for kayano 25’s. I tried a size 10 on the 28’s and it did feel snug and no wiggle room for my toes. Tried the 10.5 and it was perfect.

What surprised me the most is this: I walk in Skechers size 44. I run in Asics Kayano 28 size 48.
What's your exact foot size ? Been using the Ge-Kayano 25(size 10,5). Now I'm thinking I gotta go size 11 with 28 too.

How about the ladies? I don't wear men's shoe for obvious reason 😅
Haha my apologies LA Woman I only had two version of the men's :(

going to buy asics gel kayano 27 or 28
