I think for me, especially if you plan to do this long term, it's all about making the most money while incurring the least expenses. Not only are you considering doing a lot of hours of no earnings time, but you're repeatedly putting many additional miles on your vehicle which aren't paid for. That's a huge decline in the dollar to mile ratio. I've had to consider this a bit myself as there is an area 70 miles away from me which Uber says is a higher earnings area, but I just don't see it as being worth the tradeoff. Especially because I want to maximize the time between when my car is paid off and needing to get another vehicle.
