The musicians in Aladdins cave were not in the original 1996 ride either, they were added around 2007/2008 if I remember correctly. Also I'm pretty certain that the original ride did not take a photograph of you at the end, not sure when that was added though.
I find it sad how all the skin tones are being changed from yellow. Yellow skin on the models was more fascinating to me as a kid because it’s what made it instantly recognisable as Lego. Now the characters just look like poorly finished generic cartoon characters. I’ve also noticed the styling is a bit more caricature which I don’t really care for. Does any know the reasons behind this change? Lego characters originally had yellow skin so not to portray any particular race. I would have thought these days that would be even more important.
I also preferred the audio in the old version. Mainly just having sound effects left it to the guest to figure out what was going on which I find more entertaining and amusing.
I remember when I went on this ride a few years ago and noticed that the prince's phone was missing. Me and my Mum reported it to the staff and they probably fixed it soon after, as the next time we went, it was back.

Awesome stuff man!! It’s really rare to see a channel covers in-depth converge d of some UK parks, as much as I despise Merlin and hate the parks we have here now, I’m more of a Disney guy. However this and the bubble works always stuck with me. I’m actually repulsed by the new version of the ride all the charm and character has been completely removed and just has a clinical bland feel too it, white skin tones, and voices just don’t work and the new figures are such a horrible contrast I can’t stand it even the music is shit! Merlin has a tendency to me to wipe all the personality away from things and make them seem cheap and lazy. Look at the Grufflo and the new rides they produce at Legoland, there theming is half assed and look like it was bought in a party shop. It’s pretty depressing watching this when you know the original was superior. Why revamp something if your gonna make it worse? At least when Disney ever remove something like Malastrom you know it’s gonna be 10X better, Journey into Imagination is an exception. Regardless awesome channel man I’d love to see a video with your view of Merlin’s corporatization of the parks.
Team Theme other than low key rip off their designs of the dwarfs. Grumpy looks like they have copied a picture and changed the colours and design slightly.
He is actually still there, if you saw him not there in real life, it was probably because they were fixing him or something, once when I went, he wasn’t actually holding the ring that he is pulling. I watched a legoland blog from may 2021 and he’s still there!
