Founded in 1977, Sim Savory and Bud Davidge make up this very popular accordion-guitar music duo from Newfoundland's south coast. Sim has a recording studio in Belleoram called Sim's Studio. I saw this one played a few months on on CBC TV.(I definitely watched it!!) I is a lovely tune/ ballad and i guess we'll never know what happened to these Great Newfoundland"hard working fisherman that was... i'll say...their lives was taken that affected lots of these local tight-knit towns where everybody is family..... lovely and very vivid lyrics . just leave it up to Sim and Bud to do this lovely one for sure. The name of this episode is A FORTUNE BAY CHRISTMAS, now THE MUMMERS SHOW. It is on Land And Sea, Volume 2. The Songs are Saltwater Cowboys (performed in Sim's Studio), Outport People (played while Bud and his Uncle are canvasing Bay Du Nord (Bud's home), The Loss Of The Marion with story performed at the Boxey home of Kiz and Cecil Blagdon, with Uncle Steve Blagdon, and the Mummers Song, with actual MUMMERS and Granny, acting out every word of the song, in Bud's kitchen in English Harbour.
