Basic geography knowledge is not knowing the states in the US. It's knowing the different countries in the world, at least the important ones... UK is part of this small group.
Even with the state lines filled in, knowing the states of the USA would be a major challenge for me, while the Europe map would be a breeze. Just so interesting to show how we learn more about certain things. I’m in Canada, not Europe, but I know European countries better than American states, especially down to the map like that
A US state is almost the same as a European country. States have a lot of legal independence and a strong cultural identity. States have their own complete political apparatus, flags and all.
well states are like countrys for the u.s.a they just call themselfs states, really their countrys calling themselfs states and part of the united states and even japan Prefectures have flags (their like smaller than a state)
Calling the UK Iceland is already a classic in my book, keep it up dangG

It surprised me as well. Still, I've learned (and accepted) that different people just have different bits and pieces of knowledge.
Well, to be fair knowing all the states is part of basic geography knowledge for an American, like how all Canadians should know their provinces.
learning experience dan... learning experience

I'm Dutch and even our provinces have flags as well. It's not that uncommon I would think. States are much more like countries.
@@louieberg2942 Yeah, in England our counties have flags too

You would think European geography is basic knowledge, but you'd be way off with prob most people on earth lol. Not sure if it's sad or funny..
