Much respect for Chris. He is a hard working knowledgeable mechanic. Your lucky to have him! Keep these videos coming. I really enjoy them. Thank You!
Awesome work Chris, My wife says the blue in his hair is 1980's punk style lol -Cheers!
I'm really glad you found Mr. Chris, he seems like a really great guy who will really do well with you :)
Chris is absolutely correct about the inside of some drivers' trucks. I seen one that was so nasty, the rats wouldn't even go in it!
Strap a Go Pro on Chris and let him make a POV truck repair video. Guaranteed he’ll get good viewership
I do not think a go pro can keep up.
Chris is the kind of guy you can glean tons of knowledge from just by being around.
Good afternoon Steve & Chris, I love the new content working on Elaine the freightshaker fld, I like the shop time as much as the otr with uj & Orwell & to be honest both of ya'll rock keep the content coming my brother
Great video Steve really enjoy watching you and Chris getting the transmission and clutch out of Elaine. Flywheel looked better than expected. After cleaning out all the mud and the crude the clutch will work better with Chris adjusting it. Thanks for sharing stay safe Steve and Chris.
Elaine would look sick with dual stacks like Orwell.
Chris is an awesome addition to the channel Steve
Love Chris’s humor! The blue hair “been hanging out in Madison” comment made me laugh. I know Madison, and he is not wrong!
that last video was crazy thank god you got the fire out
Hay
You're my boy, Blue! You're my boy.
love doing clutches.
I'd rather do a class 8 clutch than any car
Chris said that kinda hurt . I would be screaming
Its going to be nice to see the merch wagon, the 352, & the cl9000 done but I know it takes money & u have with what u have, I'll stand behind u 100% my brother
Hard days work for sure, yall have a good one.
Enjoy watching you fellas getting it done. Chris being there with all his know how is worth his weight in gold. Well done fellas.
I was looking forward to this video
I think Chris should keep the nickname of clutch, as he comes in clutch at all critical moments with his knowledge and skillset. He's forgotten more than the new folks know, and its not that new by the book method, its the way of getting stuff done when you have a lot in the to be done pile that never stops stacking. You can tell he's used to being a go to guy for problem solving, as hes able to bounce around between issues as they pop up and it dosen't even phase him.
We are moveing
Need to profit share with Chris! Defined an asset
Bad drivers chew up clutches!
Something I got told when I first started was if you have to give it throttle to avoid stalling when starting moving it you are too high of a gear if you are in the correct gear you should be able to release the clutch and never have to touch the throttle
Wow who would of thought that fire didn't fix the clutch ?
Unbelievable!
Alright, I made this one on time lol. You'll have to pop the whole exhaust off including the headers to clean out the carbon build up all the way back to what ever injector is bad. With a boiler all that soot would effect the draft, causing flue gas build up. With a diesel, I would expect that to effect fuel air in and exhaust out. All that soot is doing the opposite of what a port job on a head would do. But I'm just a boiler tech not a mechanic.
Dam I didn't know others use another wrench as an extension lol I'm 52 yrs old been around vehicles since early 80's.
Hellow Steve an Orwell an your macnick good luck
glad to see you both are good after breathing all the shit from the fire
Man Chris made back hurt just watching him wrestling that flywheel lol
Interesting video. Chris is a great mechanic. Elaine seemed to idle smoothly with that nasty exhaust pipe off. That flywheel looks heavy. I hope you guys fix it and don't run into unforseen troubles. Keep the old iron running.👍
Hey stave how are you doing today on this beautiful day and I like the content in the videos and I watching your UA-cam videos
Stave???? Try Steve
A Steve I'm happy for you that Freightliner power is going to double because what you had banana up the pipe.
It never hurts to think about oil analysis
Definitely No Coal coming out of that FruitLiner 10 - 4
You're not doing it right... you can still see in the shop!🤣
Oh and I also agree you could be part of the " Blue Man Group" lol ty for letting me do a little more razzing you Matt AKA DDP be safe out there My 2 friends and everybody yuuuuup
We actually put transcoolers on the front, too. Some were installed where Elaine’s is some were installed on the first cross member behind the trams. Some were also installed on the back of the trans both low, and high!
So, yeah, these things were installed all over the place!!
Stacking the clutch on the input shaft is the only way to go, I learned that method years ago and I would never go back to doing it the conventional way.
Shoulda named that truck Old Smokey.
She sounds like Orwell now without the muffler on
Ha Chris you still have blue hair lol ty for letting me share a little bit of razzing with you guys Matt AKA DDP be safe out there My 2 friends and everybody yuuuuup
Looks like you need a new tip on the end of the torch. It’s no wonder why it’s not cutting like a hot knife through butter.
those old 855 cummins always respond very slow the celect cummins much more responsive like the N14 or N14 cellect plus much nicer to drive
I was thinking of a bunch of feather 🪶 coming out of the exhaust! 😂
Have you gone back to the first photos to see if Elaine was parked under a tree that could’ve dripped sap into the exhaust?😂
Steve just put a 13 speed back box on that 9 speed no need in changing the whole transmission
This thing needs more than a clutch
Love seeing the progress Steve. Cant wait to see how you grow your business over the next couple of years with Chris as the shop mechanic and multiple Trucks/Trailers in your fleet. Great things to come!
How are the new frame rails for the Ford coming along?
Please get some goggles and gloves when torching please. Your hurting your eyes . I know your old school but safety first. Also Steve saw several drop deck trailers at Ritchie bros auction you may want to check out. Stay safe fellas
You can make that 9 speed into a 13 direct but I wouldn't drove a 1980's 359 Pete with that
Took me years to learn to hold pedal in to get trans to slide in and out easier
My fld was one piece cab condo.
Seems like I had to take floor up.
We got a little cat motor in a ford and it smoked a offull. We took the muffler of and that was end of the smoke
Heaf the bolts up if ur having trouble
My theory is that some kids stuffed the pipe with corn stalks trying to spit fire and did doughnuts in a field before it was parked.
now is the time to replace real seal
She's an oil burner.
not bad for a 855
Change fuel filters
Beetlejuice Chris
I sure hope that paint comes out of Chris hair
Chris is a great mechanic but this truck appears to be a dot magnet
I watch & learn stuff from watching ur video's & I know that u ask's us veiwer's if we know anything leave a comment & I will try do so for u
On the freightliner that’s a setback axle on it?
Man, the older I get the less I feel the need to show off with a short wrench. I’ll grab the 4 foot cheater and break over instead of using the 12 inch cheater purely because it’s easier, and I’d rather do it fast and easy than slow and be wore out
You gonna do a rear main while you have it out?
May as well replace those rotted air tanks so they don't get you stranded on the road.
🤩👍👍
Do u have a transmission jack?
No. I borrowed this one from Trucking Together.
@@fsctrucking Ok, I was just asking that works for brother
HI 5 again last video still 🤢 sucks in my eyes 👀 move on Chris is a top macanic Elaine ...i hope she not 🚫 a joker 🃏 Steve spend money 💰 on Orwell in stead and get something newer 😮
