Such a great sound of the engines! Thanks to the outstanding thrust-to-weight ratio we can see this outstanding performance and rocket-like takeoff. Kudos :)
I experienced a Swiss A220 take off from London City airport - the engine spooled up with the brakes still on, and upon release you can feel the whole plane lean back. Then a few seconds later the engine spools up even more, resulting in a second push. The plane seemed to lift off in just over 10 seconds - it was the most exhilarating take off I have experienced.
That's exactly what it sounds like here too. Maybe the engine waits for a while for the air to start rushing into the engines before going to TOGA thrust.
You basically would need to liftoff within ten seconds. The runway is only 4,900 feet and you need to be of a certain altitude by the time you fly over Downtown London
@@srinitaaigaura The second spool during the takeoff is the engines going to the set thrust (1:55), after initially being limited to a slightly lower thrust until a certain speed was reached. This low speed thrust limitation is to keep the aircraft more stable at low speed.

I see that this plane waits for a few seconds at moderate takeoff thrust (1:47-1:54) until going to full takeoff power (1:55). I've read that it is to keep the plane more stable at lower speed. Is this true? The A380 with RR engines does the exact same thing, though it is more for avoiding engine issues than aircraft stability.
the engines take longer to spool up in the lower thrust settings. Commanding takeoff thrust directly from idle could result in one engine spooling up faster than the other, resulting in asymmetric thrust, hence the pilot sets thrust around 40%n1, waits for both engines to reach it, calls stabilised, and then sets the optimal takeoff thrust. That's the case for all multi engine jet aircraft. The A380, you've mentioned is quite unique, with 3 stage run up.
@@mscigniewrudzinski5053I know that on every aircraft the engines are stabilised somewhere between idle and set takeoff thrust. What I meant here is that the aftermentioned aircraft do not go directly to the set thrust from the stabilisation point; rather they stay at a slightly lower than set thrust for a few seconds and then go to the set thrust, resulting in a double spool from the stabilisation point.
I flew from LHR to GIB back in April 2020 and our takeoff roll was also around 20 seconds. It was a fairly busy flight too, as BA were the only ones flying into GIB on a daily basis for months.
I thank you for watching! The approach and landing in Gibraltar must have been an awesome experience! The Neo has the same engines like our a220, so depending from the takeoff weight you also can get some fast takeoff rolls! Again thank you for dropping by and watching, have a great Sunday! Dominic

Steve a Canadian design and some of the technology, but we had several development tech partners. Rockwell Collins developed the flight deck systems and a few more. But when the program for CSeries was halted for 4 yrs, Rockwell moved from Montreal to toronto with Bombardier dehavelland and continued the Vision System, and we integrated it into the Global Express. It flew there first. I worked with both the Montreal and Toronto dev teams. I also worked on the original RJ program from 1990. There were fun and sad times over the years but I wouldn't have traded these experiences for anything. I am proud of the now A220 (this a 😔 issue for me) it was given away to Airbus. Thanks for noting the Canadian roots, I appreciate it. AIRBUS only put a new label on it, they were not involved in any part of the program.

Wow This aircraft can takes off from an aircraft carrier without a catapult
I'd like to see a much longer takeoff roll, to get MUCH faster before rotation. Then an 80º climb for at least 5 seconds. Would that be safe?
Canadian design and technology!
Stunning video man!
It's a shame to call this beauty an Airbus! For me it stays a Bombardier C-Series, period!
Same for me mate! It will always be a proud Canadian cseries for me, it’s even written nicely on the entry doorstep!
Thank you for watching and commenting! Means a lot! Dominic
1:33 so eerie
How much rate of climb would have been achieved after lift off?!!
My best guess is between 3K and 5K feet per minute climb rate, maybe even more. Thank you for watching!
What is that hypnotic background music?
It was from the audio library of UA-cam,
Thx for watching!
Take Off 23 sid LOMED 5H ...amazing
They didn't even touch the main runway 😮
Only using the displaced threshold ❤

looks like theyre gonna fly at a heading of 225 in the circuit bc the alt is set to 12000 and that is not a cruise alt
We received clearance for our cruising altitude shortly after. Thank you for watching and commenting! Best greetings, make sure you have subscribed for more cseries videos coming up! Dominic
Takeoff at 120knots😵💫
Why only 1 hand on the throttle?
Rather than..? How many hands would you use? Cheers, Dominic
most airliner videos I see both pilots have their hands on the throttle.@@dnhug
most airline videos I've watched both pilots had a hand on the throttle@@dnhug
I fly the E175, this is the only aircraft more modern than mine!
What about the E2?
Otherwise I have to agree with you! Great plane indeed! Thank you for watching and commenting captain!
@@dnhug true the E2 is more modern. Never been in one
Impressionné par le silence (même à plein régime), on voit que c'est la nouvelle génération
Absolutement! Le petit est vraiment super pour voler avec, tout le monde aime le 220! Merci pour regarder et ton commentaire, salutations,Dominic
600 meter roll 🙂
Quite a good video about the Bombardier Cseries... Thanks
Thank you very much! My favourite shorthauler!
5,000 Feet per minute Vertical speed. You don't see that often in an airliner😄.
Seemed like a short runway distance as well...
