There's a thing called the waffle house index where they base the severity of storms on whether or not the waffle houses in the area had to close or not. When they say 24/7 they really mean it
You know it's bad if Wafle House is closed. The good news is that they have invested in food trucks for emergencies to get the local stores back up and running faster and provide people food and drink when city water might not be safe to drink.
Truth, I was in Dallas a couple years ago when the blizzard came through, me and the boys stopped at waffle house, it was either that or whataburger and the line was ridiculous even during a blizzard.
If the waffle house is closed. You need to evacuate 20 minutes ago for sure. Waited out many a hurricane in a waffle house.
@rickghastly1511 bro, whataburger fs. I worked there, and everytime there was a blizzard we'd stay open. Cars would literally be sliding trying to get to the order machine. We were also open while tornado sirens went off
Basically, if the Waffle House is closed, it’s time to leave immediately!!!
Yep a good waiter or waitress is attentive and regularly checks on their customers lol. They always check back after a few minutes after the food is delivered to make sure everything is cooked properly, they automatically bring refills on drinks before your cup is empty as well :)
its called southern hospitality for a reason :)
The best ones wait til you mouth is full and then ask.
Hahahaha@@kennwayne2155
I've lived in 5 states. It's true everywhere,. Kind of impressive actually.

I’m from Georgia and what you see here is what you get !!! Waffle house and Waffle House employees are the Greatest 💯❤️
born and raised in georgia - in some places there's one on damn near every exit. sometimes one on the up ramp and another on the down ramp across the freeway.
Go DAWGS BABY! And Waffle House is amazing for soaking up the alcohol after a night out.
@@AvengingFadeI used to work 3rd shift at the Waffle House at 5 points back in 1997. 😃🧇
Waffle House TOTALLY offers excellent service and awesome food ALL THE TIME.
It is everything you are seeing.
Remember, we have brown gravy, too. That white gravy is sausage gravy and it is so good!!! I'm a Southerner and Southern food is some of the best in the US!
Customer service is indeed that frequent, partially incentivized by larger tips (given how much of a percentage tips make up for regarding the staff's income) but also a lot of people just genuinely are trying to ensure everything is good for the customer. Even with having been abroad, including England, it's a culture shock for me finding out that's not as much of a thing elsewhere. In my mind, that's just part of the job.
If you like apples, you would like apple stack cake. It's a southern dessert that is made with 8+ thin layers. Then, it has apple butter in between each layer. It's very moist and very good.
No. Tips have no part in fast service. I never pay and get fast and great service. Don't push your thoughts on tipping more to someone that doesn't like working
As a former restaurant manager, it's called table touching, and its in the training.
There's something to be said for a place that serves the kind of purpose that Waffle House does too - many of these customers are interested in some company. So there's a good chance of your Waffle House(and similar restaurants) staff being chatty if you're in the mood for being chatty. As always, read the room though lol.
I live in California, but about a year ago I visited Savannah Georgia. I think I got a chocolate chip waffle, a hamburger patty, two scrambled eggs with cheese, and a soda....and I MAYBE spent $15 with tax. It was all tasty, by the way. So yes, Waffle House is (relatively) inexpensive
It's after you leave when you pay the biggest price.
I'm sure you've noticed how big our portion sizes are so if you do come to the US and eat
don't be afraid to ask for a to go box. That way you can finish it later and not waste your money.
Waffle House regulars know how to order those hashbowns, too.... "I want a triple order, smothered, covered, capped, diced, and topped. Then I want a double order smothered, covered, chunked, peppered and countried". Those waitresses will know exactly what you want. You can get full on the hashbrowns alone and not spend very much money at all.
Hi 👋 Would you mind sharing with me what all of those capped, diced, countried, etc. words mean? I might want to order hash browns in a special way. I’m 50 years old and just now learning this was even an option!🤯
@@julielong8714capped with mushrooms, diced with tomatoes, countried I believe topped with country (flour) gravy, smothered with onions, covered with cheese, peppered with jalapenos, chunked with ham
@@livinginparallel100% correct!
And it's all listed on the menu.
Apple butter is kind of like apple sauce concentrate. Basically the apples are slow cooked down to their caramelization point. It usually has cinnamon, cloves, and other spices in it as well.
DELICIOUS!
It's also not just a southern thing, I remember every time my family would drive through Lancaster PA we would grab some Amish made apple butter and it was so good.
@@SodapopKevin I've made and canned apple butter many times. Wisconsin girl
Incredibly good - I love having it on toasted bagels and english muffins(preferably sourdough)
[here from Ohio]
Apple butter in the Mid-West is often made with home grown apples (only certain varieties) quartered and cooked in water to produce juice which is then drained off to make either homemade jelly, juice or apple wine. The pulp is than squeezed out in a collander with pointed rolling pin type device the name of which I do not recall to get rid of the peelings. The apple pulp is combined with sugar cinnamon , cloves and slow cooked for hours and then put into sealed glass jars for use until the next apple harvest. Its far better on toast than the current mania of mashed avocado so fashionable with the trendies and big city yuppy snobs. @@kathybouziane5269
Just wanted to let you know that I'm really enjoying watching your reaction videos. You have a good sense of humor. I find it easy to laugh with you. Terrific content of all kinds. Keep up the great work. 😊
honestly one of the best comments i've recieved! thank you, this has made my day!
I second that! I love that he's so open and d doesn't care about getting fat if he's eating good food 😂 More Americans should have that attitude. ❤
I find myself trying to talk to you out loud. Like answering your questions 😂
We dont just have sausage gravy and saw mill gravy (both white), we have all different flavors/colors. Not just brown. 😊
LOL, the USA does not eat just white gravy. Yes, we do eat it on certain things but we also have brown beef, chicken, turkey and vegi gravies. Let's just say we love gravy no matter the color.
And giblet gravy.
The best part about all that food, is that they get to take it home & experience that euphoria again with a hangover.
1. If a waitress or waiter didn't check on me or automatically refill my drink I'd be shocked .
2. Waffle House is our way of judging how bad a hurricane will here in Florida. If it actually closes you know you are in very very big trouble. I've been to a Waffle House still serving with boards over the big front window area because a hurricane blew all the glass out. They have a generator so are often the only place to get hot food and coffee after the storm. Down here They are the place that serves the first responders.
Same here in N.C. When Hugo hit us
Waffle House is a chain with restaurants in different states in USA open 24/7. You can order breakfast type foods as well as regular lunch or dinner type foods there. Of course the waffles are great there and the food items are very cheap cost wise and consistently good tasting especially if you are drunk or tipsy like the Jolly guys and Noah is here. If you remember, the Jolly guys and Noah had all that barbecue earlier that day and now they came to Waffle House after having some drinks with Noah. :) Yes the waiters/servers frequently come by to check how the food is if any problems or need any more refills on drinks. Customer service for servers'/waiters/waitresses are supposed to be super friendly because they depend on good tips at the end of the meal service to make their money.
I have lived my whole life in Georgia and in the south Waffle House is a staple. It’s fresh and delicious. The wait staff is usually friendly and your sweet tea is never empty.
Waffle House is considered kind of lower class but everyone goes there or something like it after the bars close. It’s perfect food so you don’t wake up with quite the hangover. That’s why people told them to go after a few drinks
Ever since covid happened, waffle house or mcdonalds is like your own only choice late night.
Everyone I know rich or poor go to Waffle House. Maybe some of the ultra rich snobs might think it’s beneath them.
@@nullakjg767 I'm still so damn bummed about how it killed 24hr almost everything. Always did my grocery shopping at 1AM and it was glorious.
I think you're the first person I've seen comment on how drunk Noah (guy in the middle) actually was during this video. He's such a character. Really fun reaction from you as well, keep it up.
Yeah, again, the white gravy is not "our gravy" it's just a type of gravy. We do multiple kinds. What kind it is is based on what mean you use to flavor it. A gravy is just a liquidy or chunky covering sauce made from the grease or broth of whatever meat you're cooking and of course flour, butter, and/or milk.
Like for Turkey Gravy, all you need is Turkey grease or Chicken stock, flour, pepper, and butter. Creates a nice yellowish gravy that goes well over your Turkey and Mashed Potatoes.
Another tip: if they have the ingredients to fix it, they'll pretty much make anything you want. Like, if you want an omelette with a strange combo of fillings, they can do that. I remember when I thought I had perfected my order, and this guy at the counter asked for a double order of hash browns, and I was like, you can do that??? LOL Speaking of hash browns, you can get them covered, smothered, diced, loaded, and about 6 other different toppings (be sure to check out their menu). They may be named after waffles, but I'd argue they're more famous for their hash browns.
I'm assuming they uploaders of these videos do not read the comments. I've commented on just about ALL the UK reactors videos about our gravy here when they assume that ALL our gravy is white Southern gravy. And video after video when they see white Southern gravy, they say, "I forgot you all gravy is white, while ours is brown."
I have explained many times that the white gravy is Southern style gravy. W e have brown gravy as well. Also, Turkey/Chicken gravy(which is a light-golden brown color), Redeye gravy(brown also), onion gravy, mushroom gravy(brown as well)
I am a bartender/server in Washington state, and yes, I check on my tables multiple times throughout the meal. If you don't people tend to get upset, and I have to keep an eye on those FREE refills. :)
We have brown gravy too, but white gravy is better with Southern food! And a 2-hour drive for most of us is a pretty moderate amount of time. But I don't commute to work an hour and a half each way every day.
In the US we have several gravy’s that include brown for beef, a lighter brown for turkey or pork, an even lighter gravy for chicken which can be yellow or white and the sausage gravy which is white with bits of sausage in it. A white gravy is essentially a béchamel sauce that may or may not have additional ingredients. It’s basically a roux (butter or grease combined with flour) and combined with milk.
Noah Sims took a bite, threw his hand up and Said "Sweet baby Jesus!" That's like a Pentecostal come to Jesus moment 😂
A lot of people will say the service is due to tipping in the US. That might be part of it, but I just think people see service as part of their job. I always did when I worked in hospitality. Customer Service is King in the US. If you order soda, coffee, or iced tea in a US restaurant, those are generally bottomless (and other drinks people may want multiple), so the wait staff comes by frequently, to top up people's water glasses, if nothing else. They don't always ask if you need anything, but they're right there refilling drinks if you do. Bartenders are generally just as attentive, until you get to very trendy, or super popular places.
YEAh also some peopel actually like being friendly and talking to one another. Its called being pleasant lol. Time moves a lot slower when you spend your whole day trying to frown hard because no one is tipping you. Also btw the number 1 people against ending tip culture, are servers themselves. An uneducated 19 year old can make 6 figures at a nice resturant with tips. Most of which becomes untaxable if cash. Bartenders make more than a lot of college educated jobs. They might just actually be happy because they are being well paid. A lot of them make more than british doctors.
@@nullakjg767The courteousy of people in the South and Mid-Westi is legendary be it at the meat counter , a Waffle House, or any retail establishment.
It happens all the time. In fact if you don't ask the customer if everything is ok then they might get in trouble
But generally all cook and wait staff are very nice and polite.
Yup, that’s the service! Once we even had the waitress just chit chatting and singing with us at 3am, I love Waffle House 🎉
I worked at a Waffle House when attending college. Yes, the wait staff are back at the table frequently. The food is also very good. You gGet a lot of late-night people in the wee hours of the morning, who were usually out at the clubs. They're usually there until about 4 :30 a.m. Then at 5:30 or 6 a.m., the morning crowd starts coming in. There are also people like single men or widowers, who come in regularly, like daily, who don't cook at home.
Yes, always get servers coming and makings sure everything is ok, refilling drinks, etc. Unless its fast food (the exception being Chick-fil-a where they will check on you).
I live in Mississippi and they really are that nice. I mean you get exceptions, but normally that sweet and attentive. You also kind of know the best waffle houses with the best service. It’s rare to find one that has bad service.
The beauty of dining with a proper chef🧑🍳
"We said this and they made it". Damn straight.
My brother and I used to work night shift in Kentucky. We'd get off work at 5 am and go straight to Wafflehouse close to home in Indiana. I know it has a reputation for drunk food, but my family went there all the time. It's very nostalgic.
FYI a Gurney is a wheeled stretcher, or a mobile hospital bed they use to transport people in emergency situations mostly.
Most restaurants do have this type of attendance. It can be very annoying when your having a conversation or trying to eat but when you actually need something it's very helpful, they are usually fairly polite about it though. Waffle house is one of the cheaper places to eat, but prices have gone up quite a bit since this video. After the plague everything went up so not specific to waffle house., they are still restaurant quality at fast food prices.
"FYI a Gurney is a wheeled stretcher, or a mobile hospital bed they use to transport people in emergency situations mostly. Most restaurants do have this type of attendance."
Not the gurney, just the quality of service seen in the video
😂@@RyTrapp0 Yeah, I'm bad about just throwing my thoughts out without checking to see if it makes sense as a whole.
Grits are like that, if they are not done right and seasoned right you will never want to try them ever again. If you have leftover grits take them cold out of the fridge and slice out slices that look like "french toast sticks" ( 6 inch x 1 1/2 inch x 1 inch ) and skillet fry it on all sides with lots and lots of butter until all the sides are crisp and brown. It is awesome.
I remember visiting Waffle House as a kid when customers and employees could smoke cigarettes in the restaurant! The smoke combined with the greasy smells from the grill mixed together to create a unique scent. It was especially delightful when the waitress was blowing smoke out of her mouth and nose as she served our food to us, y'all.
I'm from Chicago and in the 70s we all went out for breakfast at the Oak Tree after the discos closed (Sat. night at 5am). It was a typical diner, open 24hrs. for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's nothing better than a breakfast of eggs and pancakes after a night of drinking.
The workers will greet you when you come through the door. Love this place. Wish they had one in Las vegas
Yes, waiters and waitresses come to your table pretty often, refill drinks without asking, etc.
Yes food service for tips in the US is usually like that. If you're sitting down at a diner or fancy restaurant that you're being served in a good waiter/waitress will check on you. It's because they do work for tips and you can make extremely good money in the US as a server if you're a good one. I know my cousin worked at iHop, Waffle house, etc. she would make up to a $1000 a week sometimes depending on the time of year and business because she was really good at it.
I get the allstar special Everytime !I get sautéed onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers in my hash browns! Then I mix in my cheese eggs and bacon!!! Then I add hotsauce. And a pecan waffle! Been getting the same thing since I was a little girl!! 💜💜💜
17MAR24: Commonly in the states a good waitstaff will check your table 3 to 4 imes, half for refills and the rest just to make sure everything is all right, depending on your needs. Santana is/was a good example of this.
We determine the severity of a storm based on whether or not waffle is open. They never close so if a storm is coming and they close then you better hide or run.
2 hrs is nothing in the US. Most people take 2 hrs to get to work, traffic included. Takes me 12-14 hrs depending on traffic to drive to Miami, FL to visit family and I’m the state above them, Georgia. Takes forever to get to south Miami.
Remember: Continental USA covers FOUR Time Zones !!
Waitress service in USA.
You have to remember that most Wait Staff (US) receive part of their wages from Patron (customer tips),
since their hourly wage is very low. Typical tips are 15% to 22% of the Bill.

Waffles became wildly popular in USA during and after 1964 New York World’s Fair (Belgium pavilion served Waffles).
In Marvel film, “Iron Man 2”, Tony will reference the Belgium Waffle Stands on a Wire Model of the NY Fair.
Waffles have been popular since way before the World's Fair. I'm 76 years old and remember my Mom's Sunday night supper... Waffles, poached eggs and bacon or sausage. Since the big Sunday meal was after church, this lighter meal at the end of the day was perfect. Her waffle iron dated to the 1940s and lasted for decades. As for the Belgian waffles at the World's Fair, they were a revelation to me.Sweet waffles with strawberries and real whipped cream. Waffles for dessert! My uncle worked for a construction company building the pavilion for India. He was still on site throughout the summer after the grand opening. I spent several weeks in Queens that summer. My aunt and I had daily access to the fair and we ate our share of waffles, believe me!
All restaurants are like that, all servers worth their tips are smiling and very nice all throughout the meal, and they refill your beverage as often as you want!
Yes, they are usually coming to see if you need refills on coffee or drinks, and see how everything is going. Waffle House food is inexpensive and very tasty! Also, not all of our gravy is thick and white. It just depends on the type of gravy. The gravy we have with Thanksgiving dinner for our mashed potatoes and turkey is a thinner brown gravy, and it's delicious! 🤣
12:20
grits are delicious when cooked right. the problem is that it's so easy to get them wrong. many people will over cook them or under cook them, there is a narrow amount that they need to be cooked to in order to get them right. then you add a couple dashes of salt and a couple pats of butter (real butter not margarine). some people add sugar instead of salt, but that's blasphemy. you can even add some kind of protein in the grits like sausage or ham or bacon or even shrimp (it's a Southern thing.)
I’m from Georgia. That’s normal service in the southeast. Southern hospitality!
Our white gravy is white. Our brown gravey is brown. It depends on what kind of gravy you want to make. We even have a very dark gravy made with coffee. Gravies made witha a roux can be any where from light brown to reddish brown ro chocolate in color.
Definitely not because of the camera. Its pretty standard, especially in the south. Wait staff DO NOT make a living wage with their regular pay, if they didnt receive tips. But the cheaper food is, the less tips they get.
Yes, they usually ask how your food is etc. Usually waffle house workers are pretty friendly. You can watch them cook your food. The food is delicious.
Don't forget the that 1st item was coustom made and not normal. Also the prices would be higher due to inflation and the tip is added on above the base price The wait attention is a combination of it being a southern state location and tip based service is more attentive.
A lot of churches in the south make apple butter for few weekends in the fall. It’s usually about a10-12 hour day cooking the apples over a hot fire in a enormous copper kettle. You have to stir it constantly with a special type of stirrer. You must stay back to avoid being burned by the cooking apples. Usually makes about 40-50 gallons. Great money maker as it will all sell!
Yes they check if we need a coffee heat up or anything else.. it also helps their tip to be friendly
Yes, servers are usually very attentive in checking up to see if you like the food. As for prices $6 for a cheaper meal would be pre-inflation. Now the same breakfast meal will run you $6.50-8.50 depending on what you get. Still not a bad deal.
right now the All Star combo is only $11.75 for a waffle, hash browns u can add things to $.50 apiece (i like cheese mushrooms and chili), eggs, toast, bacon or sausage. they have burgers and sandwiches too, you leave full and the staff are usually great
There are several different types of gravy in the USA, depending on what meat you are serving. Roast beef would offer a thinner brown gravy. Gravy served with roasted, grilled, or fried chicken would be lighter in color, and a bit thicker than the gravy served with Southern biscuits, but not as thin as what would be served with roast beef. The white sausage pepper gravy is specific to the light, flakey, Southern biscuits.
So I live a few block away from our local waffle house, but I live in Cocoa Beach, so we have a hurricane occasionally. When one is coming, we go drink a lot at Sandbar, go to waffle house to eat and then go home and pass out. Waffle House stays open for the whole storm, if they close, we leave the island. Yes, the service is that great all the time!
Restaurants dont use Kraft singles...american cheese from a block.and sliced, its melty too, they use it on eggs, burgers and grilled cheese. Its not plastic
I wish Waffle House was in the Northern and Midwestern US states as well. The food there looks good.
Plenty in Ohio
My grandmother used to win awards for her homemade apple butter and peach butter. Delish!
that dude is the exact right amount of drunk to be at a waffle house. the matrix overlay was perfect.
Ok I have been watching you since Friday and I have been wanting to answer ALL your question no matter what the episode is about.
As a server/manger years ago. Yes, servers usually have a protocol that they have to ask how everything is with in either 2 minutes or 2 bites in. They also have a time frame to greet you, get your drinks, order and check when requested. Drinks have to be refilled no more than half way down.
5:47
In answer to your question, Lewis:
Yes, the servers do check in with you pretty regularly, offering to refill your coffee or tea or even clearing away plates that you're finished eating from
Gotta do:
*Brits Try Everything at the Texas Rodeo*
Waffle House is the one place you will get food exactly like the time before….every time !
And YES, they make sure your drink is ALWAYS full, the food gets to you so fast you can’t believe it… Hot, right off the grill, delicious!! The waffles are nothing short of sheer delight…all the butter and the toppings you may want !!!
I have been wait staff, including banquet hall, a customer myself and bar staff (a little different than a waitress here) and yes.. we rely on tips however..in the US.. we make it a priority to make the customers happy.. especially if it is an establishment we care about (owners etc) and if we are treated well.. if someone is being a jerk or a Karen just because..its bad for our end pay that day but..in alot of us would rather seen you thrown out by the manager or leave you there at the table and except no tip instead of dealing with your non sense..which will then affect YOUR service, and meal..some of us don't give into pushy demanding customers. W:
hen things are super busy or you have an ego problem.. otherwise. we want everyone to feel welcome no matter where you are from..what hour of day it is. How you respond and communicate with us is important too!!
At most friendly restaurants, even though you don’t know anyone there, they come up to you all the time. Filling your water, bringing drinks, taking order, appetizers, meal, drinks, desert, at least 5 or 6 times. Often having a short chat about our day, our home, our job, whatever.
The Waffle House is a great place to have a breakfast at anytime in my opinion, because I like breakfast at anytime personally. And I usealy get a couple of Pecan waffles to take home for the next day. And the wait staff also keep checking back to make sure everything is okay and if you need more!
Here in Florida, we use Waffle House as an indicator of whether or not we should bunker down for a hurricane or get the hell out of dodge and evacuate. If Waffle House is still open, bunker down. If Waffle House closes, get out of there as fast as you can.
YEP...
We have different gravies... Brown white , chicken, turkey, beef , pork.. even gravy made from coffee...lol
They're only in the southern USA and i stop by at least once whenever I'm there.
The overall standard for servers in the USA to checkup on their customers after the food has been delivered is "two bites, two minutes." If the customer has taken at least two bites of the food, then ask if the customer is satisfied...or if the customer has not touched the food (there could be a problem), wait two minutes to ask if the customer is happy.
I adore grits which is made out of corn .. a southern dish!!!
Waffle House has really good food, I think. Service is fast and attentive. But I think that is an American thing--tips. Noah Sims, the guy in the middle, is currently in Ukraine part of the World Kitchen--cooking for refugees. I suspect he is even closer to the UK than when he was here. I appreciate the Jolly crew as they try flavors. I do wonder if some of our places here would do well in England--Brit presenters always act so surprised about the taste of our foods. Apple butter is awesome--I make that myself and can it up for the fall. Grits--I am picky--make my own--not the quick stuff. That just tastes like paste.
I am from Virginia born and raised in the mountains of Wise County. I do not make white sausage gravy. I fry my bacon then my sausage put flour and salt in the pan and lightly brown it before adding milk. Then I let the flour thicken the gravy. Only way to eat gravy as far as I am concerned!!!
The key to flavorful white gravy is the fat from the pan drippings (sausage, bacon, butter) If the fat isn't flavorful, the gravy will be garbage. White gravy is literally fat, flour, cream/milk.
I'm sure someone else has said it, but he was being sarcastic about 'not trying' the bowl of grits.
It's one of his favorites & wants it to himself lmao
When on a road trip Waffle House is a great and not that expensive place. Yes. Restaurant workers will stop by quite often to find out if you need anything, ask if the food’s ok, and check on your drinks. Usually you’re not halfway through a drink when you’re asked if you’d like more.
In Portland, we have a breakfast place called cup and saucer. I went there so much when I was younger that the wait staff became friends and would sometimes sit down and chat if they were not slammed...
The white gravy is made out of milk. In the south the brown gravy is made out of fried chicken drippings.
We make all kinds of gravy Beef gravy for example is brown. When I was little I saw my friend's Dad make gravy from bacon grease ;my grandmother made hamburger gravy.;
He is the perfect guide for their first time 👍🏻
Yeah I took a quick drive from Arkansas to Alabama to see Orange Beach. Beautiful drive.
Not all of our gravy is white. We have gravy in various colors depending on what it's going on
😂😂😂
These guys are gonna blow up! 😂😂😂
Yeah, a 2 hour drive is nothing. 4+ hour drives is when it gets to be a bit long. But it's nothing for people to drive 5 to 6 hours nonstop. But people can drive up to 12 to 13 hours in a day. Long haul truckers drive for a long time. Not sure what the daily limit is, I'm thinking it's like 9, but still, that's about average when it comes to people going on long vacations across country. Like we'd used to go on these long 2 to 3 week road trips and during our traveling days, we'd start out as early as we could, like 6 or 7am. And then drive till dusk. So 12 to 13 hours. We were usually pulling a camper, so we could only go so fast, between 55 and 65 mph, but it was fun getting there.
When I lived in SC I would make the 14.5 hour drive up to my home town in one go to visit family.
Waffle House cooks and employees are so nice!
Part of the experience.
Yes! Waiters/waitresses almost always ask if everything is to your liking. They want to earn a good tip, so a good waiter/waitress will make sure you have a good visit.
Waffle House has the best omelets, bar none. They put the eggs in a blender and then cook them in a pan over the fire grill. They come out about an inch or so high, they practically melt in your mouth.
The thing I don’t understand about English breakfast, the hash browns are just frozen patties, no love. Same with the beans and tomatoes canned. The only thing they cook is the eggs and meat. There’s nothing you can’t do yourself. If they actually made hash browns from a potato seasoned. Cooked homemade beans, and made their own sausages it could be good 😂
Absolutely! Service in USA is amazing!
If a server doesn't come and check enough, she doesn't get a good tip. 😂 nothing you are served should get halfway empty without either bring refilled or checked on.
When I trained waiting tables you have rules that are "steps of service"
1. Greet table. Tell specials. Get drink order
2. Serve drinks. Get appetizer order.
3. Serve apps. Refill drinks. Take food order.
... check on table within 30 sec for quality
4. Remove plates. Refill drinks
5. Drop entry.
.... wait 30 sec check table.
6. Refill drinks.
7. Check quality again.
8. Desserts? Etc
Over and over.
Clear plates and trash and Refill drinks tge whole time.
One time, our manager made us spread out like zone on a basketball team ready to pounce at the sign of any need.
When we served food, each server had one plate and we stood behind each guest and dropped plates at same time. I've worked in reasturants since I was 11. I had a part time job "bagging silverware". They said years later they got in trouble for me being to young but that was back in the 1980s. 😂
I have become addicted to your content, it's hilarious. You definitely need to come to the USA and try most of these places out. Mom and Pops type of shops are the best.
Ok so you understand I live in Wisconsin in the US Wait staff is paid by law $2.33 hour normal minimum wage in my state is $7.25 and hour. The difference between those is meant to be paid in tips or gratuity by the customer. So during the course of your shift your hoping to ear more than that around 20% or more of the total bill for the meal.
The hashbrown Casserole..is hashbrown, cheese, onions ect.. grits if cooked and seasoned right it's good..it's one of those foods you either love it or hate it..
