Two title defenses against Volk, I would like to see Islam fight 2 other lightweights after Poirier. He’ll be at 5 title defenses if he keeps winning, then he should fight for the title at 170. Then Usman Nurmagomedov should make his debut next year.
If Islam wins convincingly, I don't see any challenges any time soon besides maybe Arman. I would like to see Islam fight Edwards, but I'm way more excited about Islam vs Shavkat.
@@PjXu98 arman is a big test for islam, we could potentially see him defend against max holloway at some point depending on what max does in the future, and im sure ilia topuria will want to challenge islam if he can defend a few times first
Personally i would rather see islam try and go for double digit defenses and then try double champ before retiring, I feel like that would be better than him going to welterweight sooner and leaving lightweight without a definitive champion

@@akindtroll28 but Charles won against Poirier, if he won it would mean that "he is better than Poirier, and Poirier is better than Islam" I put that in commas because it doesn't work like that, since Poirier got better than when they last fought and since in Rock paper scissors, rock wins against scissors, and scissors wins against paper, but rock still loses against paper. I have no idea if what I said made sense, at the end of the day I guess you're right
