You know, Brutalmoose, I don't see enough people say this, but the quality of your videos is really incredible. If I had to rank UA-camrs based on their humor, video pacing, overall quality, likability, and consistency in the quality of their content as well as how often they upload, I think you may just be the best out there. Looking at this video and a lot of your other videos, it's easy to see why. Your humor ranges from deadpan to cheesy puns to just plain weird, and I think all of your jokes land well, unlike a lot of other people out there. You're genuinely great to watch, too. You're relaxed, fun, while also giving a lot of great game analysis. It's refreshing, as so many UA-camrs seem to rely too heavily on being angry/loud and obnoxious. Even just looking at your video intro you manage to set an appropriate mood, give us more knowledge of you as a person (which makes us more invested and interested in you), set us up to the game, and throw in a great joke. Basically this whole comment is a really really long way of me saying that you're the best, Brutalmoose. You make my life a little brighter (which goes a long ways right now) and you keep doing you.
I wholeheartedly concur. I got my 6-year-old hooked on this channel a while back, actually. We both laughed so hard a Prison Tycoon 3 that I was crying by the end. Still my fave vid on this channel.
***** brutalmoose was so naughty santa was like "fuck giving this guy coal lets give him these weird ass shit games that no one wants!" and thus came the birth of his channel!!!
I think the idea of having it branch out and looking at different views while everything runs simultaneously is a really cool idea. It's too bad that the storyline seems to be too confusing making it less worthwhile. I did look at a playthrough for the best ending quickly and noticed that depending on what you do, Eric says something different. For example, instead of "Chad made a mess" he says "Dead body, lots of blood. Your sister thinks I did it."
Does this game remind anyone else of that show that ended last year, Psych? Both this game and the show revolved around psychics and main characters who use their special innate abilities to solve crimes. The difference is that Psych is about a cool guy that pretends to be psychic and this game is about a psychic guy who pretends to be cool.
It ended?! Damn, now I feel really guilty for losing track of it. I LOVED that show, especially since it was a companion to Monk. Oh how I wanted/still want a crossover between the two...
RarefoilB The final joke of the series involves Shawn asking if he can help solve a murder in San Francisco, and being told "We've already got a guy. He's in the kitchen...alphabetizing the soup cans..."
I never knew about the thousands of garbage games out there until I started listening to Brutal Moose. Now I understand that the world is a vast wasteland of bad video games!
You know, bad endings for video games like the one that Brutalmoose got here really creeps me out; it's like that cutscene that plays when you quit the game after dying in Catherine. And while that means the cutscene did its job... I don't like getting creeped out like that. I guess what really gets to me is how I could have prevented it, but I wasn't able to. Maybe I shouldn't play Majora's Mask 3D after all.
You know... surprisingly enough, this 'game' actually looks rather interesting and I wouldn't mind trying it out. Or at least seeing if I can find all the footage of it, since I no longer have a PS1 laying around... and I doubt I'd have any luck finding this thing anywhere. And I doubt the PC version could possibly be run on modern PCs, unless they have it floating around somewhere on GOG.
The Neverending Twilight Emuparadise has an ISO of this for the PS1. It's piracy protected, and I tried a few emulators but I could only get it to work on Xebra. It works just fine on that emulator from what I can tell. The entire game is ~1.5 GB.
This game does look kinda cool, it reminds me of Night Trap except more involved. Also and this is really random but god Ian how are you SO GOOD at compositing?! lol
I had this game and had some fun with it. But for the game to make sense, I would advise to make the first playthrough without switching between consciousnesses, and watch the full story through Eric's eyes. So that you know what he is normally doing during the scenes. Then you can switch and understand better what's going on. And it becomes really interesting when you get that sometime you have to jump from people to people to get to someone specific (as you can only jump to the consciousness of someone you are seeing at the time). But the first time I tried it, I jumped all over the place and didn't get anything. And finally, for the last puzzle, I had to check a walkthrough because it's very hard to understand and you have almost no place for error in it. But I was pleased to see you review it, and that you didn't bash it :)
I figured out the Black Diamond thing...well, mostly. The pieces are objects you have read psychically or people you have mindjacked. The outcome depends on the pieces left on the board. A video stand off between the bald man and Eric also plays depending upon which of the pieces you put on each other.
Out of all of your videos, I keep coming back to this one and the game show one. When Eric's face does the funhouse mirror thing in the beginning I feel like he briefly turns into Benedict Cumberbatch.
***** I would guess it is for the fact that once you get a bad ending you start again. So it would be a method of an easy transition back to the start rather than asking for disk 1 again.
yeah really weird ones could find their way onto the console in the PS1 era. Like LSD dream emulator is another bizarre one. There are probably some decent weird internet pc games though, I would think. Surely that still has to be a wild frontier.
The multiple perspective mechanic would have been just awesome in Psychonauts. I mean the game is great already, but that mechanic would have been cool if the NPCs actually spoke to each other.
The entire concept of replaying the game to glean more information by making different choices, and seeing multiple endings to piece together the full scope of the game, was done MUCH, MUCH better years later, by 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. (Also known as Zero Time Escape.) That game is a masterpiece.
I used to get excited when I saw a new brutalmoose video, now...I get freakin pumped. Keep it up moose, you're quickly climbing my list of favorite youtubers
Meister Leckhart What do you mean? I have a DVD drive on my laptop and it can read CD-ROMs. My Dad has a Blu-Ray drive on his laptop and it can read CD-ROMs. What even is a CD-ROM player?
Thanks so much for showing this game, I never would have discovered this otherwise. I LOVE this game, you have to put in some serious time to figure out the story but it is super fun once you do!

Old AF thread but we used to play the shit out of this in college back in '97, usually getting one of the bad endings, but one time I got the Grand Slam. Basically, you need to psych pirate around to find the right objects to use clairvoyance on -find Max/enemy's shit/memories and use them against him, for example. Stay away from your shitty memories and shitty characters -they will give you shitty game pieces during Black Diamond. In essence, you need to play detective enough to find/make the best pieces in the game for yourself (and leave the shittiest ones for Max) and use the strong memories to trounce him. The session where I was able to save the old lady made her a powerful game piece, for example.
So it's what nighttrap wanted to be, whereas it was actually impossible to follow through multiple playthroughs. Yk, kudos despite the b-movie plot (which I see as a win).
My boyfriend walked in and asked me who I was watching on youtube.
"Not my lover. Not my plaything. Just a poor, defenseless man."
desidarlingly that was great xD
You're good!
Yowch
Tuna noodle, my favorite!!
Gabriel Bueno Fêo
...Oh Wow...
Props to the lady for stepping up and taking care of Eric after he got mind crushed.
[HEAVY BREATHING]
Well if he didnt lose to a children's mind game, maybe he wouldnt have gotten mind crushed ;3
+ Umbry's Realm If only our protagonist was a high-school aged midget with the ghost of a vindictive king trapped in his head/necklace.
TheAwakeOrangutang What’s that a reference to?
ChillBaloo Yugioh I believe
"You just met him a few minutes ago, you can't just jump to 'Chadster'."
Actually, you can't ever jump to "Chadster".
I'm guessing your name is Chad.
supertaoman12
Nope.
Nice try, Chad.
CurtisAlfeld Shame shame, no point in trying to run this facade.
You can't ever jump to "Chadster"...fast enough!
RIP Chad "Chadster" Something
19?? - 19??
HE SORT OF MADE A MESS
xXSilentAgent47Xx Damn it Chadster
Juan D'Marco you shameless
I would watch a TV show where every character is Brutalmoose
+Burnt Toast With each one having the "Hello, my name is: Ian" sticker.
+powerKitten Unlimited I think they say "Hello, my name is Guy #_"
why don't you watch brutalmoose?
Yes.
If you can handle three Ian's you should be able to handle 3 more

Yeouch!
Hi Jeff
It's always cool to me when I see other UA-camrs in the comments.
:D
Oh look it is PBG! I mean uh... Oh look it is PBG!
It's Ham Spaceter!
Ian... how do you even find games like this??
He sold his soul to the devil.
XGeneration
Sounds pretty logical.
Holla!
***** brutalmoose was so naughty santa was like "fuck giving this guy coal lets give him these weird ass shit games that no one wants!"

Shadowof Oblivion And that's how you make lemonade.

FMV is unquestionably the best game genre. Anyone who thinks otherwise is objectively wrong.
Cool
Scarfulhu I KNOW YOU!!! i love ur vids :)
I wish there was more FMV. Nowadays scarfruity
Oi Scarfy when's the next vid, if i may ask?
Seems legit
id pretend to be a psychic for 2 stacks of $5's.
I'm jealous of your username
Boi u must be small

Both this game and the show revolved around psychics and main characters who use their special innate abilities to solve crimes. The difference is that Psych is about a cool guy that pretends to be psychic and this game is about a psychic guy who pretends to be cool.
Yes. Also, there is no E at the end of "Psych."
It ended?! Damn, now I feel really guilty for losing track of it. I LOVED that show, especially since it was a companion to Monk. Oh how I wanted/still want a crossover between the two...
LittleBigEnNer Fixed it. I tend to screw up the names of titles a lot, thanks for pointing out the typo.
10/10 ending
RarefoilB The final joke of the series involves Shawn asking if he can help solve a murder in San Francisco, and being told "We've already got a guy. He's in the kitchen...alphabetizing the soup cans..."
This actually seems seriously technically impressive to me.
Ian: "Oh, I'm sorry, were you watching this video while EATING?"
Me: *mouth full of burrito* Yes.
Same, but with cereal instead
ouijacorn same but with noodles
ouijacorn Same, but with PUSSY.
Atomic76 I bet you didn't so fuck off! my nigga you just got rostd!
Same here, but with a muffin.
Forget Eric's lips, I don't know if it's just something about the footage, but his teeth look ridiculously gross
You should see how fucked up they looked in 'Superbad.'
"Hold him, Jimmy's brother!"
TemporaryFamineShip That’s the guy!!
I never knew about the thousands of garbage games out there until I started listening to Brutal Moose. Now I understand that the world is a vast wasteland of bad video games!
Watch Caddicarus too he showed me there were a lot of REALLY BAD games out there
just wait until you get into the movies
Psychic Detectives Don't Wear Ties.

RarefoilB Because a video game thats rated E-10 plus is going to scare you to death -.-
Gaming Powerz Have you played it?
Zee Brewmaster Yes. I have beat it twice.
then you know that moon is creepy.... epecially when you think its a singular ballsack
Zee Brewmaster XD wtf

Well, you could try running it on DOSBOX with the PC version. I'd suggest that as the PS1 version is appearently censored.
TimeWalker I have tried using DOSBOX before, actually, and... I have absolutely no idea how to get that thing running, sadly.
The Neverending Twilight Emuparadise has an ISO of this for the PS1. It's piracy protected, and I tried a few emulators but I could only get it to work on Xebra. It works just fine on that emulator from what I can tell. The entire game is ~1.5 GB.
3do versions are pretty cheap. Around $40 max
I had to use a walkthrough to finally get a good ending, and I've been playing it on and off for years LOL.
This game does look kinda cool, it reminds me of Night Trap except more involved.
Also and this is really random but god Ian how are you SO GOOD at compositing?! lol
My cat woke up when he heard the cat meow
Same here!
Sony having interactive movies and selling them as games since the PS1 I see.
At least David Cage wasn't involved this time.
Master Markus Come on.
How amazing would it be if he directed this game?
How thoroughly would it shit the bed?
PolarPhantom He did direct this game. He just renamed it "Beyond: Two Souls."
+Gshiinobi Actually this is a port from the 3DO.
Those Danny Phantom references still make me smile years later. :P
Danny Phantom reference? My respect for you has skyrocketed.
You get points for the Danny Phantom reference. It made me smile. Thanks for that, man.

This is actually a cool concept wrapped in a really, really, cheesy execution.
GOD DAMN IT BRUTALMOOSE! I was eating my dinner while watching this... >.
Haha, but yea I was eating Mash Potato and the second I put the fork in my mouth, cheesy feet right in the face :L
Crash Rakashe I guess you just don't know how to appreciate ART!
But... but... food is a form of art... ;n;

Eating pizza "see foot" then I spit the pizza on a plate and stop eating

Not hard to do when you're an insomniac
Dat Danny Phantom reference tho

Yeah, as soon as he said "paranormal thermos" I immediately thought of the Fenton Thermos. I'm so glad he mentioned it.

BRING BACK BENOIT!
RKO OUTTA NOWHERE!
"Are there really ghosts among us"
HHAHAHAHA HE SAID IT
I've seen such bravery and it's a man who now mostly does TV dinner reviews in the future.
For some reason, the "sorta made a mess" line brings me to tears every time.
Out of all of your videos, I keep coming back to this one and the game show one. When Eric's face does the funhouse mirror thing in the beginning I feel like he briefly turns into Benedict Cumberbatch.
"My father just killed himself."
"Who the fuck starts a conversation like that?! I just sat down!"
I have not braved such scenery
Genius
Uploaded on my Birthday! :D
Thanks for the awesome present, Ian! ^-^
Happy birthday! Have a great day, hope you get a ton of awesome presents!
BurningSilverGal YOUCH!
happy b-day
Happy Twin Birthday!! (it's mine as well) xP
Happy Birthday :)
This is only my second Brutalmoose video, but I'm already in love.
this whole video confused me. I feel like my brain got flushed down the toilet.
That's it, that's this game's story in a nutshell.
Go back to the first disk,to start the ending? Why not use that space for the second chapter and remove an unnecessary disk swap.
Yeah, that didn't make sense to me either.
Multiple endings on multiple disks?
Graham Squire
But you have to come back to disc 1 to play the end of the game?
***** I would guess it is for the fact that once you get a bad ending you start again. So it would be a method of an easy transition back to the start rather than asking for disk 1 again.
***** No, he means that since there are multiple endings they might be spread across the three disks.
That moment when BrutalMoose finally uploads a video...
The 80s/90s were WEIRD in terms of games O_O
I kind of miss that...
Kickstarter for Psychic Detective HD Remake
Griffin Blanton I'd support it!
Also Realms of the Haunting, I'd love to see that remastered :)
yeah really weird ones could find their way onto the console in the PS1 era. Like LSD dream emulator is another bizarre one.
There are probably some decent weird internet pc games though, I would think. Surely that still has to be a wild frontier.
Steam's store is full of weird-ass games too, you just need to dig around for them just like you had to go digging for these in the past.
"im sorry were you watching this video while eating? Here's a disgusting foot" Strange i was eating my own foot
A mail order bride on delivery day? with this kind of comedy gold I really have no idea how I haven't heard of this game before. I'm lying of course.
The multiple perspective mechanic would have been just awesome in Psychonauts. I mean the game is great already, but that mechanic would have been cool if the NPCs actually spoke to each other.
I laughed my ass off when he said, "Chad sort of made a mess,"
Coming back to this video because Jerma played this game. It brought back some good classic memories.
When my neighbor passed out they sent a firetruck, an ambulance and 2 police cars. *1 guy dies and they send 1 police car* lol
"Shaking like a mail order bride on delivery day." Writing gold.
Is it?
I’ve watched this video probably more than half a dozen times. This is my favorite era of brutal moose ♥️
Okay, the screaming is like cutscenes of Bad Milk.
Thank god he uploaded! I've been bored senseless all day ;-;
imagine walking in on your kid playing this back in the day
I used to get excited when I saw a new brutalmoose video, now...I get freakin pumped. Keep it up moose, you're quickly climbing my list of favorite youtubers
I can't tell if this game is awful... or amazing
This channel is super under-rated! Keep up the good work!
There should be a crossover of this game with Bad Milk. Both make about as much sense.
One day there will be a time were Ian DOES see such bravery.
My god Ian, where do you find these games?
Meister Leckhart What do you mean? I have a DVD drive on my laptop and it can read CD-ROMs. My Dad has a Blu-Ray drive on his laptop and it can read CD-ROMs. What even is a CD-ROM player?
He turns that Som' Bitch sideways, and sticks it up his candy-ass.
Then he takes it out and sticks a Magic the Gathering card and does the same thing.
7:45 "Where is the... Euro - Trash?"
Lmao damn grandma
It's like Night Trap, only more pretentious
nO.
Thanks so much for showing this game, I never would have discovered this otherwise. I LOVE this game, you have to put in some serious time to figure out the story but it is super fun once you do!
I just finished playing Hotline Miami 2 and I can safely say that this game disturbed me far more than Hotline.
"i was shaking like a mail order bride" are we just gonna ignore that
…I actually WAS eating while I was watching this video…
Alright, crazy-down time: Which contains more insanity, this game or Bad Milk? GO!
Definitely Bad Milk. This game is weird, but at least it's relatively coherent. You can actually tell what's happening and what the designers are intending, which is very different from Bad Milk's complete randomness.
Wandergirl108 Bad Milk, no contest
lol I read this while it just happened
That cat part caused my cat to flip the fuck out. Amazing.
WHO TURNED OFF THE SKY
SOMEBODY TURN ON THE SKY AGAIN
"I'm sorry. Were you eating this video while eating."
LITERALLY right when the foot appeared I was taking my first few bites of pizza. XD
Silly chadster! Always lying around!
Great video, Ian, as always!
That cat jump scare... On full volume... In the dark... With poor quality earphones. I literally screamed.
When is it?
It's not a jump scare if I tell you when it was... >:)
Elizabeth Stevenson i saw it its not scary
On full volume if you're not expecting it and you're running on a treadmill? It was scratchy and terrifying. In my opinion, that is.
Elizabeth Stevenson ok
You have a fondness for doing videos on FMV games, don't you?
yrs he does
Old AF thread but we used to play the shit out of this in college back in '97, usually getting one of the bad endings, but one time I got the Grand Slam. This is some Bad Milk level shit, Moose.
I love it.
This is the second video I've seen of yours that includes the words Granny Groping in the same sentence.
I thought the dude with the goatee was Ben Kingsley
"His lips look very...punchable."
What everyone was already thinking but could not yet put into words.
I would like this twice just for the Danny Phantom reference if I could.
This was the first Brutal Moose video I stumbled on. Its been over five years... feels just like yesterday.
Shouldn't of ate that pretzel.
It was obviously full of drugs.
I feel so privileged to have been born on the day this gem was released
I totally ship Guy 1 and Guy 3.
"Jump to Chadster"? I think smacking him was farther than that 😂
wow ghost trick 2 looks great
*sobs*
I've gotta stop watching these videos late at night before bed, because then I wake up wondering if it was a dream or not.
Eric looks like a love child between Jim Carey and Kevin bacon
With a little Andy samberg tossed in there
That was a REALLY big boot at the end, Ian
So it's what nighttrap wanted to be, whereas it was actually impossible to follow through multiple playthroughs. Yk, kudos despite the b-movie plot (which I see as a win).
Recognized the main character, Eric, as Doc from “The Heart, She Holler”. From detective to rural doc. Such a versatile actor.
I gotta say that was brutal, moose.
That... that's not even clever
tgsachris I kinda chuckled though
MrHellGnome
this guy gets it
***** Did you? :P
It's like traveling back in time and seeing a different Ian
I own the same car as "Eric".
"Uh-this can paw is from a cat." He's a fucking genius.
13:30 Oh, I didn't know Danny DeVito was in this.
+100 Points for a Funny New Video
+10 Extra Points for the Danny Phantom reference
4:36 I was ACTUALLY eating! I was eating spaghetti. :3
Nyeheheheeeeeeh
***** I KNOW, RIGHT?
ALPHABETTI SPHAGETTI! NYEHHEHEH
I spilled my juice!
NYEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHNYEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE
Danny Phantom references.... I LOVED THAT SHOOOOW!!
