Can't wait to come visit!! Everything is looking so amazing! I know it's been a lot of work but so worth it in the end. I need some Peaches cuddles too. 💕
The weed with the tuber looks like Stachys floridana otherwise known as Florida Betony, yes it spreads all over, but…it’s a member of the mint family and the tuber is edible. Some people call it wild artichoke, not an artichoke, it’s mild in flavor
It very much looks like that! I haven’t seen it flower yet, but the tuber and leaves certainly look like it. I have a TON of it, it’s everywhere on my property. Good to know!!
It has pretty purple flowers that the bees love as well and I have it as well all over the place, but after fighting it for 2 years, I ve learned to leave it alone in some beds and it seems to have helped my compacted soil in others. Good luck!
I had the same issue when I moved last year! It was November leaving my already established garden and moving to 17 acres of just grass. You grow girl!
Girl I am a soil block maker too! Love what you got going on. I will be starting my Fall seeds this week. Needing to get a fence up soon, the deer are crazy.
I used trays, cups and now trying biodegradable bags. They almost look like large open tea bags. Once seedlings are ready I can plant the whole thing in the ground. Hoping this works.
I’ve definitely used those before and did like them. They don’t degrade as quickly which I found to be both a pro and a con! Pro for letting the plants get established through seed starting and planting easily, con because I kept finding them everywhere in my raised beds not even slightly broken down when I would go to plant the next season. It made me wonder about how well the plants roots were able to spread out and grow if they weren’t breaking down at all throughout the season. Hopefully the ones you have will work better! Good luck! 🌻
I have nerve damage in my hands and I can tell just by looking at the soil planter blocks they'd be difficult/not worth it. I'm going to try to cover my entire tiny yard with cardboard this winter too.
It would definitely not be worth it, I spent a lot of time packing it in with my hands because it would not pack just by pushing it into the dirt. If there’s a correct method, I’ve yet to figure it out! Good luck with the card board!
Questions: How do you know so much about herbs? When/how did you get into gardening Not a question but I think some tall ornamental grasses would look awesome in your front yard, esp if there's a breeze!
I can’t wait to see how prolific your garden will be very soon!! 😍
Thank you soo much for answering my question on flowers ! I started my flowers after asking you on Instagram!
