    I am in the PLANNING stages of a shell-off restoration of a 1968 Airstream Overlander. It MUST be a boondocker for a retirement out in the "big and scratchy" (2 1/2 years from now). Your video and blog have been invaluable in my plans. I'm subscribing and donating now. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

    Great tips for wiring your RV. Loved the pesky T-Rex at the thermostat. Wow, gotta get an EVO! Thanks for this.

    Such a great presentation of all you did. Wow, you guys really did an optimal job of anticipating your needs and making it organized and make sense. Super impressive as everyone else has mentioned. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Not the usual fun content but really helpful. My system is already built and well built (not by me) but it helps me understand it better. Anyway, thanks for the detailed video and the work that went into making it. Seriously, the kids' part breaks up the monotony (not a subject everyone loves) and made me smile or i might not have made it to the end (brilliant tactics) 🤪.
    Great job!

      Thanks Simone! Definitely was tricky to still make it fun, but also helpful and organized in a way that made sense. We appreciate the kind words :)

    Thank you for sharing. Just lifted the shell on my 1972 Sovereign and plan to install a similar setup for electrical and solar. Any other things you’d change? I plan on using Battle Born batteries in out setup.

      You're welcome! The only other thing I can think of is just to make sure your USB charging ports are gauged for fast charging. That totally wasn't a thing when we installed our system, and I'm glad we over gauged all these wires because we can still charge at 18W or 20W instead of the 5W all mobile devices used to charge at. Oh, and add as any USB charging ports as you can. We never seem to have enough 😂.

    My husband said would your system work for hot Florida weather? That small amount of panels! I’m assuming Arizona stays cooler at night than Florida! He’s trying to get us setup to go off grid in November . He said there’s no way we would keep cool all night!?

    • @TinyShinyHome
      @TinyShinyHome  3 роки тому +1

      No system would work for Florida weather 😂. I’m only sort of joking. Our setup was intentionally designed for low power usage (see tinyshinyhome.com/planning-solar-and-electrical-installation-in-our-airstream-renovation). To run AC in high humidity environments like FL you’re going to need an insanely expensive setup and massive battery capacity for keeping cool at night.

      @@TinyShinyHome that’s what we are scratching our brains out about! We will be building a roof over the airstream to shield a little and also put the solar panels on! We usually have 4 rainy months too!

      If you’re parking it that’s a whole different conversation. We’ll be building out our 7200w 28kwh off grid system for our homestead soon. That will run the AC(s)

    Have you seen scorpions on your property?
    If yes how do you deal with them?

      @TinyShinyHome  3 роки тому

      Yes. We’ve seen them. We just leave them alone. If there becomes too many we may kill them and feed them to the chickens:)

    Where is my cookie? Not one of those 'cookies' that track my computer usage I hope. I want a Peanut butter, chocolate chip cookie, with maple on top.
