How well does your tooling hold up when dying? The one scabbard I made when I dyed it the leather became subjective to impressions again and I felt the need to re-imprint the two logos I had on it.
I use some stamps too, but I prefer work without it. Stamps are good for patterns with small repeating motifs - medieval artist also were using stamps made with ceramic, stones or wood.
