"That's Amore" is a 1953 song by composer Harry Warren and lyricist Jack Brooks. It became a major hit and signature song for Dean Martin in 1953. Amore means "love" in Italian.

The thing I can't understand about Dean is, for someone who smoked as much as he did, you would think he would have a raspy singing voice.but it was the opposite.It was that smooth, velvety, silky, olive oily voice.

My late husband always sang this song..he even sounded like Dean Martin. And looked very similar but My Husband was more HANDSOME. IF YOU CLOSED YOUR EYES . YOU COULD SWEAR IT WAS DEAN MARTIN SINGING...HE was also a bit of a showman like Deano..I MISS HIM SO SO MUCH. 🥰💗💗💗💗💗💗

I don't mean to ruin it for you. Maybe you know, maybe you don't know. But if you do a little research on him, it may answer a little bit of your question. After he split up with Jerry Lewis, he needed to reinvent himself with a different image. So it was suggested to him to have a cigarette on stage along with a glass of wine / liquor and this was his image and he would always play the part as if he was drunk; but it was all part of the ACT. He was like another Foster Brooks. It was never liquor. It was always apple juice on stage and on television. He, along with his family, and friends, mention that he would only have a glass of wine🍷or two during dinner; but that's as far as he would go. He would always wake up early in the morning to go play golf. Maybe it was the apple juice? But I doubt it. However, he did have that smooth olive oil voice.
