Terrific bike. I ride an R6 but I admire this bike. Even for an older bike the look is aggressive and sharp. I didn't follow bikes back in 02/03 as I was only 8 years old but I bet this thing was a monster when it first came out
Yes, many Honda Enthusiast put this bike on the holy grail when it came out. Well balanced and respectful power. It was the last of the infamous Tadao Baba's brainchild for he lusted for light weight and high powered bikes during his leading of the first FireBlade project. He called the concept "Total Control" This FireBlade had the weight of 600cc competitors and the power of 1000cc back then.
dope, I have a 2002 954RR! couldn't seem to get it passed 160!? although I found out the guy before me installed a 45 tooth rear sprocket instead of a stock 43. It should be able to reach 170 now

@@jerryx2000 , Der 954RR ist ein großartiger Lenker, ein Spielrad und etwas fehlerverzeihender als der 1000RR. Der 1000RR hat natürlich viel mehr Power, lenkerd viel straffer und deshalb werde ich nie in der Lage sein, ein besseres Motorrad zu entwerfen, weil jede Fireblade top ist !!!
The 954RR of mine but also those of my friends did not reach more than +/- 290km/h on the odometer in original state. I had only a open exhaust and KN airfilter.

Lenkungsdämpfer Pflicht bei dem Model?
Die 954RR ist leicht und daher am Vorderrad etwas nervös, mir persönlich gefiel das Fahren mit Lenkungsdämpfer! 👍
My 2002 954RR get 293 km/h on flat roads, have only a carbon exhaust. (Live in Brazil)

I have riden the 954RR more than 50,000 without any problems and except for a K&N filter, Ixil silencer, it was completely original. lovely bike!!!
