Your missing a trick, use a staple to attach your rig on the winder, this keeps your loop straight. Simply punch the staple out of the stapler and the open one end so it will fit on the winder and other end, the narrow gap of the staple, goes on your loop.

Hi mate, I would fish casters shallow, throw maggots short on a topkit, big pot gbait with dead maggots in the edges👌
