Starting at 1:40 is where I really start remembering the good times with Ogre Juggernaughts and Destroyers and lines such as "Ahoy!" "Your the Captain" and "Done building ship!" Warcraft 2 is a amazing game and there is no denying that.
this game when i was a kid teached me many things like resource management, musical appreciation, problem solving, delivering diplomacy at the gates of my enemies and much more.....who says that video games dont teach anything good???
If there's ever going to be a Warcraft IV, I wish Blizzard would go back to this dark, classical & epic sound and incredible song structure. And bring back the harpsichords!
Man...I remember when I first played warcraft 2, this theme came up at the 3rd mission, and I was still noob at computers games, so I couldn't figure out how to build a shipyard. It took me DAYS to figure out that you had to build a lumbermill in order to reveal the shipyard building (cuz first time building it I was like it does nothing...) LOL...this brings back so many memories.
Right on! However, there was a limited amount of naval warfare in the Campaign of The Frozen throne but it cannot compare to the glorious sea battles of the Second War!
The piece starts from 1:40 is in A minor. It goes from A minor -> D minor -> G major -> C major -> F major -> B dim -> E major -> (back to) A minor, then it goes to the first inversion and starts over again.
Got to love midi that doesn't sound like crap =) Man, this music brings back so many good memories. I must've listened to it on my walkman hundreds of times when I discovered it was actually on the cd (and figured out how to record it onto tape =p).
@einherjarium Thank you so much! I just saw your advice tonight, downloaded DosBox, and now the game itself runs great! The only drawback (but it's nothing compared to not having the game run at all) is that now the chapter headers scroll in a funky mix of red, purple and green. Hard on the eyes, but a minor drawback, like I said. Thank you again! :-D Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an Orc base to rip to shreds. >:-D lol
lol the first time i played warcraft 1 i was like 4 yrs old... i fell in love with that game especially the dungeon levels were the ogres and spider npc's were... just loved so much.. i was so sad when my father changed the pc.. i "forgot" that game (i started playing age of empires) put i still remembered the "green pigs" (orcs lol) then i met a guy who talked about "orcs" and i remembered.. he had warcraft 2... it was just before war 3 was released.. i got 2.. fell in love again. warcraft FTW!
When I was younger (like 5-6) my dad played around on pirate sites.. One day he stumbles on this game and though I might like it, (You know how children loves monsters and magic) and I played it for weeks. This is the first game I ever completed, and I remember that day now, it was glorious. This game even taught me some memorization skills, like cheats (Glittering Prizes) too bad I only remember game related stuff and never anything important ^^
@iCommentatez I've always believed this too!!! On the high sea's...the navy of the Horde....the Orchish high admiral sips his warmed human's blood tea...uppity yet uncommonly elegantly, ungentlemanly is his axe, rammed the bow of his ship to his enemies iron side!! can't believe my passion for this song made me right this. smh...i'm going to the nut house. :-( lol
this is a dream that won't come true U_U I won't say I don't enjoy WoW as that would be a lie, but I will say that I enjoyed far more the strategy warcraft than the rpg warcraft. I really wish this wonderfull saga could return to be that amazing strategy game that I once loved. were instead of being the raid leader of 25 idiots with god-complex and crappy conections I was a comander of an army that obeys orders without question. ahh the good'ol days :'( the ones that wont return.
@Xick Hehe, I bet you were! Was in war 1 it was only Lok'tar? Because i played through entire war 2 in my child hood and i'm pretty sure they said lok'tar Ogar FOR THE HORDE!
What song from Hearthstone? Never played it and been trying to figure this out as I'd love to hear a remake of this song (one of the favorites from my childhood).
@SODEMO2007 Yea.. When I told a WoW-player I've WC3 on my computer he asked me "What is Warcraft 3? Is this a continue of wow?"... I do play wow but I also played wc1, wc2 and wc3.. I know something of warcraft history and onetime.. I loved this "moment".. I told a guy who played wow but not wc1, 2 and 3 about 2 hours only about the orcish history.. :D And hey.. I'm not 20 yet. (I just say this because many people say that it's a question of age) Sorry for my bad english. ^.^
I wish I could walk into a bar and hit the jukebox and this song would play. Then me and my mates would start drinking heavily and get rowdy like a bunch of orcs. By the end of the night we would have pillaged and burnt the town maybe even stole a maiden or two.
always wondered what the harpsichord is playing. thanks a lot. it's a bit tricky though, if you want to find out through listening. i would say he plays always the third as passing note in the arpeggiated chords. but the interesting thing is, that the first chord is in root position, the following one in second inversion. this figure repeats. correct me if i'm wrong, but that's the closest i could get^^
Nah Wow is just like a dream. Someday Warcraft 4 will dismiss everything that happened in wow, and we will have a proper game again. It will be a glorious day the day of Warcraft 4!.
@Nefus1988 I agree.... I'm quite disappointed that they are just spamming endless WoW expansions instead of going to WC4... I'm fairly certain Wrath of the Lich King was supposed to be the story in WC4 but it was easier for them to just smash it in WoW and make tons of money.
@SODEMO2007 i play WoW only for the story but i completed warcraft 1 warcraft 2 beyond the dark portal and tide of darkness warcraft 3 reign of chaos and the frozen throne but the best was warcraft 2 and i liked Grom Hellscream :D
Yes, its indeed Bach's Toccata & Fugue style, that's why Warcraft Series so amazing,,.. the art, music, story , everything is asesome!
Yes it is!!!🎉
Never played Warcraft 2, but i recently discovered this song and absolutely love it.
Starting at 1:40 is where I really start remembering the good times with Ogre Juggernaughts and Destroyers and lines such as "Ahoy!" "Your the Captain" and "Done building ship!" Warcraft 2 is a amazing game and there is no denying that.
I love the classical inspirations found in this masterpiece
this game when i was a kid teached me many things like resource management, musical appreciation, problem solving, delivering diplomacy at the gates of my enemies and much more.....who says that video games dont teach anything good???

+Akeyla Ulii either XD
+Akeyla Ulii
You are fucking correct!
+Akeyla Ulii
Need an extension for this.
+Yijie Ma Kingdom Rush fan?
I remember taking forever on this level waiting for the soundtrack to loop back
1:40 Am I the only one who hear Bach's Toccata & Fugue?
The melody is indeed Toccata & Fugue, which is surprising so well matched with old Orc style
We all too!
It's more heroic sounding than the other orc tracks, and they're supposed to be the villains back then.
Its sick thats warcraft 2 music is the best damn music ever on a pc game.. All songs are fukking good!
Right on! However, there was a limited amount of naval warfare in the Campaign of The Frozen throne but it cannot compare to the glorious sea battles of the Second War!

Thank you sir, so happy to know the details of this magnificent melody
anyboyd else still listen to these old themes? i still love this shit hell yeah
we are here , bro =)
YES 1:40 is just EPIC
This music is still fantastic. It suits the horde well.
1:40 makes it sound like an awfully happy soundtrack for an army of marauding orcs that kill innocent people and worship demons
Sophisticated, cultured orcs wearing hipster glasses LOL
Got to love midi that doesn't sound like crap =)
Man, this music brings back so many good memories. I must've listened to it on my walkman hundreds of times when I discovered it was actually on the cd (and figured out how to record it onto tape =p).

I wanna play warcraft 2 now these soundtracks are epic
this song somehow reminds me of the shoddy orc refineries, oild platforms and tankers...ahhh the memories
lol the first time i played warcraft 1 i was like 4 yrs old... i fell in love with that game especially the dungeon levels were the ogres and spider npc's were... just loved so much.. i was so sad when my father changed the pc.. i "forgot" that game (i started playing age of empires) put i still remembered the "green pigs" (orcs lol) then i met a guy who talked about "orcs" and i remembered.. he had warcraft 2... it was just before war 3 was released.. i got 2.. fell in love again. warcraft FTW!

My god, the memories :o
Nice, I was playing Warcraft when I was three...so many years ago...Hehe, fifteen now and its been a great twelve years of gaming
I don't want to believe UA-cam is as old as this comment is. I'm going to turn to dust here.
@@MrTableDesk It's been a long trip.
Came back here after I heard this on Hearthsone
Came here only for Hearthstone - 1:40
+Noxius Just because you like warcraft more then hs doesent mean you can insult some one...
+teil show *insert a thanks you GIF*
ya this 1 is my favorite 1 out of all the orc soundtracs
i was raised on Warcraft Orcs & Humans, and Warcraft 2! Greatest games known to man!
The best part between 1:40 - 2:02 !
Typical barocco
LEGENDARY
I love this melody its BEEEEEST...
@Zanazuah Starcraft's Protoss Corsair. It's also the cheat to make you invincible in the game.
@dannes22 Pah! In my day we didn't even have "Ogar"! We made do with "Lok'tar"! And we were thankful for it!
@senatorandsith "Captain?" "Who wants to sing?"
0:21 - 0:31. Epicness.
We're under attaaaack!!
@tttc Нет ты не один кто это слышит! Это просто тема, личыно для меня это тема уже на века, начиная с 98 года!!!
This track goes best with the Orc navy imo.
I liked how in WC2, thanks to the square graphics, I could create a total naval blockade of an enemy island.
2018 anyone? surly I'm not alone
2020
The music in this game is a master piece
It is a symphony.
This music assoccates for with snow plains and at the same time with hot wastelands at night.
hearthstone OP :D
Fantastic.
@iCommentatez I've always believed this too!!!
On the high sea's...the navy of the Horde....the Orchish high admiral sips his warmed human's blood tea...uppity yet uncommonly elegantly, ungentlemanly is his axe, rammed the bow of his ship to his enemies iron side!!

lol
Argh? I would love to. Aye, Captain!
this is a dream that won't come true U_U

Dis is a WAAAGH!
I miss my childhood.
Goddamn alliance battleships shootin mah transports! >:O
1:40 still gives me chills.
@Shakduhn
Feel like it's myself writing.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
That's why I can't wait for SC2 :)
I call this song "Noble Savagery"
Everything in WC1 and WC2, except for spells and certain upgrades, were equal on both sides.
Oh the memories :3
@Xick Hehe, I bet you were!
Was in war 1 it was only Lok'tar?
Because i played through entire war 2 in my child hood and i'm pretty sure they said lok'tar Ogar
FOR THE HORDE!
@Srab23 It's the climax of the song and by far my favorite climactic part if any of the songs! By..........far.
For the horde!!!!
Ha han? Yes Master!!
:) im 10 yrs old:) and i have it, and War3 too^^
GEEZ this the best of all soundtracks of warcraft 2
What song from Hearthstone? Never played it and been trying to figure this out as I'd love to hear a remake of this song (one of the favorites from my childhood).
It's not a remake, during the "Looking for an opponent for you" wait time this and the previous song plays with a radio filter on
Andrevus Whitetail necrotic response but nvm.. you can alsou hear parts of it in the title theme of HS
i never played the first WarCraft... i began with WCII
Still can't find better Harpsichord tracks than these.
My fav one music

This song just SCREAMS Orcish Navy.

I wish I could walk into a bar and hit the jukebox and this song would play. Then me and my mates would start drinking heavily and get rowdy like a bunch of orcs. By the end of the night we would have pillaged and burnt the town maybe even stole a maiden or two.
Lok'tar Ogar!
Victory or death!
"*Burp* He did it, no he did it"
WOW KILLED WARCRAFT!
Apparently you weren't allowed to be 3 years old when Warcraft was the big thing. :V
@chickensesame of course it does.
always wondered what the harpsichord is playing. thanks a lot. it's a bit tricky though, if you want to find out through listening. i would say he plays always the third as passing note in the arpeggiated chords. but the interesting thing is, that the first chord is in root position, the following one in second inversion. this figure repeats. correct me if i'm wrong, but that's the closest i could get^^
You can find a very good tab of this track for Guitar Pro and you will see
@Nethrezar You sir, are a genius. :-)
Я помню еще то время когда она выходила только;))
that won't buy metzen a few new corvettes and a new hottub though.
Nah Wow is just like a dream. Someday Warcraft 4 will dismiss everything that happened in wow, and we will have a proper game again.
It will be a glorious day the day of Warcraft 4!.
i also think its awesome
Lok'Tar Gol'Gosh!!!
Done building ship!
@halopwner179 I didn't know what it meant tho ^^ Just memorized the key pattern on the keyboard =)
WAAAGH !!!
@Golemoid ya it was the 80's for the horde is when that time was, now its the 2000ths and its wow and horde isnt as cool as it was
@2mp2Studios Strange, it was nearly exactly the same thing with me.^^
ITS MORPHIN TIME
@Nefus1988
