It's something to see this video and realize how many changes have happen since this visit Vortex....Gone Orion and Mystic Timbers are now there Love to see u guys come back and get your reactions now 😁
Logan it was unsafe it was safe, cause many parks like Six Flags get a special train and flip it around. The reason they stopped it was because one line was getting longer than the other.
Back in 1999, the last time I was there it was the end of the season and a low attendance so.... my buddy and I got to ride the backward side 17 times in a row with no waiting. So sweeet!
Hope you guys had a great time in our little park in southwest Ohio! And we've found that Cincinnati style chili is very polarizing. You either love it or hate it. Not much in between.
i dunno...i wouldn't buy something again that i was just 'meh" about...none of them said they hated it, and none of them said they were blown away by it...in fact they all said it was okay but that they wouldn't get it again...i'd call that "meh"
Where I live we get Skyline in the can. It's growing on me as a hot dog condiment as long as it's used conservatively with some mustard. I think because it's a relatively sweet chili the acid of the mustard balances it well. By itself in a bowl i'm not fond of it. I'm from the south west and we definitely have a different style of chili here I'm used to.
Nice, I haven't been back since my aunt past away. She was the only one brave enough to ride the Vortex and Beast with me. Back then they had the King Cobra too that was really good. It's been 16+ years, what wonderful memories.
+Ginny Lee I don't remember it hurting or beating me around like most wooden rollercoaster will. If I remember, it was a green, metal coaster that went upside-down. You stood up for the most part but had a little seat that came up to take some pressure off your legs.
+Ginny Lee Didn't they use to have a Top Gun movie themed coaster where you hung from the track on top of you? (or am I thinking of somewhere else?) I see they don't have all the great Hanna Barbara characters and rides I remember either...No more pictures with Jaber Jaws, Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones...
+Jerad Hernandez it was cool when Paramount owned the park. I remember the Top Gun ride being themed like an aircraft carrier. Then when Paramount sold it they had to take down all the movie branding and make it Flight Deck. Same ride just no Tom Cruise lol
In regards to "No standing", most of those coasters have been there for over 30 years. Before the early 90s safety regulations were a lot different and the Racers and Beast only had knee bars. There was more than enough room to almost stand. If you rode in the back you pretty much were off the seat half the time. As far as Cincy chili goes. Cinnamon is a key ingredient. It's meant to be soupy and served over hot dogs or spaghetti. Also, you order it in 2 way, 3 way, etc. That reflects whether it has cheese, onions, or whatever. It most definitely is not for everyone and as not everybody considers deep dish pizza pizza not everyone considers Cincinnati chili chili.
When your from Ohio you go with skyline we don't really have any hot dog places so sky line is were its at and its because they are putting it on the hot dogs
@@WickedlyMe328 That had to of been within the first five years of opening, because I rode it in 2001 with the lap bar restraints. I have my picture from July 2001 as well.
@@WickedlyMe328 Son of Beast was the worst lol. Felt like going 12 rounds with Tyson. It was fun when I was younger, but even if it was around and safe I'm not sure I'd ride it lol.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it but , kings island was where the episode called Cincinnati kids , from The Brady Bunch was filmed!! Would love to visit one day!!

So funny to see how excited you guys got for this place, I've lived 15 minutes from it my whole life so that initial thrill wore off long ago... still a great park!
Wow.... The beast looks like a kick are ride. Have to try to make it out to Kings Island. Love wooden coasters. Dude... You had the funniest line I've ever heard " I can know test colors" ...lmfao
Growing-up in Indianapolis, King's Island was our GO TO amusement park! I moved to NJ 20 years ago so watching this video was a balm to my soul. (BTW...The Beast is totally worth the 50 minute wait....silly man.)
OH! I just went to an amusement park called Kings Dominion today, and I had a BLAST! It’s exactly like Kings Island, but the layout is different, and Kings Island has more rides than Kings Dominion, but it was still fun.
I remember when Vortex opened...it's my favorite Arrow Dynamics coaster to date...:) Of course it's probably seen better days and is more nostalgic for me.
i've never really been a rollercoaster person yet i've always loved amusement parks, but over this past summer i went with my friend who made me ride every rollercoaster now i love them
Just found this video!! So excited you came to Ohio! I worked at kings island for 15 years- met my husband there! Both of my kids worked there too. My father in law (in the 70s) ran the wild animal habitat. We live close enough to see fireworks nightly. I have taught kindergarten in Kings Mills schools for 34 years too . Needless to say - we love our local park!!! So glad you got to visit!
We do have a Halloween (Halloween Haunt) event & they use to have haunt attraction where they would take you on the train ride & drop you off to go through a maze in the woods. It was called Tombstone Terror-tory. You guys should come up & check it out! It's not HHN quality (more like Howl-O-Scream feel) but it's definitely worth checking out! You know the reason that the indoor ride, Flight of Fear smells the way it does? It's a tradition while waiting in line, is to release a stink bomb. Friends of friends, of friends, have been doing it for years. I don't know how it began, but it's a tradition that cannot be broken!
I just found this vlog. You can’t imagine how excited I was, as I live about one mile from KI and can see the fireworks from my balcony every night. Honestly I never thought I would see the day when someone from Orlando would come all the way to Mason to go to a theme park. I’ve been to Disney world four times but only ever went to KI once years ago. I guess sometimes you just don’t appreciate what’s right in front of you.
They already have diamondback. I would much rather them put a flying b&m, Mack launch, Or put some money in Michigan’s Adventure, Valleyfair, or worlds of fun for once!
Yay! We live in Lebanon, one exit down from Mason! My husband and I grew up at Kings Island and are frequent DisneyWorld goers with our children now! We watch your channel as a family and love it! It’s our Sunday family ritual!
I’m going to Kings Island this summer, I should be going soon. I’m definitely riding the Banshee tho! If you rode the Diamond Back, could you give me ur opinion on it? I wanna ride it too
Kings Island was the theme park that got me to get over being afraid of roller coasters. My best friend moved to Ohio a couple years ago and last summer when I went up there we went to Kings Island for a day. I have wanted to go back every day since!
I know this video was a few years ago but I just now saw this. I m so glad you all came to Ohio to Kings Island. One of my favorite places. Love this video. 😎
i can't believe you went to kings island! it's so surreal seeing you guys put up a video about a park i've been going to my whole life! and i literally went just 2 days before you guys on the 28th ughhh it would have been totally awesome to see you there!
As someone who grew up on Kings Island I got a huge kick out of this. I would highly recommend bringing and taking ibuprofen if you're over 25 years old but it's so fun. The Banshee is like the most disorienting experience of my life.
Fun fact: Get in line for the Beast before the fireworks start. You have to wait for them to be over, but can still view them in line. They have to walk the tracks afterwards to ensure nothing caught fire, but the wait for an emptying park at night is the best! Feels like your immersed in the R.L. Stine book. 👻 I've watched this video too many times. Better late than never to comment!
im so glad you went on the eiffle tower(dont know if i spelled that right ) just so this short story wouldnt be that random :) the first time i went to kings island was when i was four i am fourteen now and me and the rest of my family went to the top of the eiffle tower and my mom is terrified of hights and because im a horrible child, what did i do you may ask ? ( lets face it no one is asking that question) i put my head through the bars and it scared the crap out of my mom 😂
1993 was the last time I rode the last car of _The Beast_ and I said, "Never again". After the 540° turn and just before you got back in the station there was this horrible shimmy that rattled every bone in my back.
I really thought they were going overboard with the intensity of these rides, but then I remembered I subbed to this channel from their Disney vids, so these are a major step up in intensity when compared to most Disney rides lol
This is the closest amusement park to me! And I have been here a million times but yet I had to watch Tim and Jen enjoy it ! ❤️ love you guys and helping a pregnant woman enjoy some Amusement park fun in the middle of winter!
back in the 80s on the train ride(Miami Valley Railroad) they use to have actors and old West action scenes both at the fort and the town style buildings. now it's just a way to get to soak city. not much entertainment. if anything it gives you a chance to relax while in the park. great video guys
Oh man.. Ohio is going to kill you over the Skyline dis ;) Its not "chili" like you know it.. Also Goldstar is waaaay better.. and you can get it with beans.
I miss when flight of fear was The Outer Limits themed. That and Vortex were always my favorite. I’m old school. I remember The Smurf Ride and when Boo Blasters was Phantom Theater. Phantom Theater was where you went to dry off the front of your clothes by the furnace blast after you stood on the bridge at Amazon Falls and got drenched. I miss the old Kings Island. It was much more affordable back then. I don’t remember the lines being as hellacious back then. I haven’t been in over a decade and I’ve missed a LOT! I didn’t even get to say goodbye to Vortex. That was my first looping roller coaster ever the year it opened.
Gerard Way's Hat No, this is definitely Kings Island which is Kings Dominion's sister park, as you probably know. The park (Kings Island) debuted 3 years prior to when King's Dominion officially opened and debuted its wooden racing coaster Rebel Yell (another John Allen design) in May of 1975. You missed out on Firehawk, Adventure Express, Banshee, Bat, and Invertigo
Themeparkguy Productions
Adventure Express is a disappointment but those other rides you listed are awesome
You never know. Maybe they just didn’t film after those rides.
Themeparkguy Productions the banshee was one of the best rides
Themeparkguy Productions adventure express sucks but the others r fun
The Clitourist the bat is kinda lame as well
Fun fact: the blue train on The Racer used to be flipped around so you would ride backwards.
Carowinds in NC use to have a coaster exactly the same. It was called Thunder Road but it was tore down in 2015.
Ryan Chambers Paramount did that even though it was unsafe
Logan it was unsafe it was safe, cause many parks like Six Flags get a special train and flip it around. The reason they stopped it was because one line was getting longer than the other.
Back in 1999, the last time I was there it was the end of the season and a low attendance so.... my buddy and I got to ride the backward side 17 times in a row with no waiting. So sweeet!
It was actually the Red Racer and they turned it around because it wore on the train too much.

That's exactly what they do for Halloween Tim, it's awesome.
My dad took me to ride the Beast for my 12th birthday. That was my first trip to Kings Island and my most memorable yet.
Front row is so smooth and it doesn't hurt at all!!!
