- A while back I posted a video about the best parts about Liberty from my perspective, so now here is the video about the things I dislike the most about Liberty. Some of these are specific to just Liberty while some are dislikes about college in general. And remember, this is strictly my opinion.

Hey dude I love your positive outlook on a lot of these, and I think you did an awesome job articulating them. My freshman year (‘19-‘20) the circle had some of the best seating-I think they rotate every year or something. And the academic rigor definitely steps up as you take degree-specific, upper-level classes. I’m studying Computer Science and most or all my classes are practical and directly applicable to my career.
Yeah, that's definitely true. Glad to hear the academics picks up in upper level classes!
Not recommended for people with any type of disability. Constant discrimination and unwelcoming atmosphere. What Christian environment? I was a student there and only witnessed people being fake. Never again. How many scandals has the school been involved in? Liberty sucks ass!! Maybe it’s awesome for someone non disabled.
As far as college being easier than high school, I'd agree with that and my last college exam was way back in 1994. In high school you had to have a 95 or higher to get an A and below 75 was an F. In college, a 90 was an A and an F was below 60. Beyond that the coursework, as compared to high school, wasn't challenging in the least bit (except Calculus and Trig). Some courses I rarely attended except on exam days and still busted out an A or B. For the non-Science, non-Math courses you simply get the course syllabus and reading list on the first day of class and make sure you do all the reading/writing assignments.....ON TIME....and show up for the exams. Lot of time to drink and "socialize" in between.
My son is an engineering student at Liberty and the classes are no cakewalk. I think it depends on the major you are studying.
For sure -- major classes aren't the same as geneds
Great video this helps a lot! I’ve just gotten accepted I’m going in the fall, do you know if the forensic science program is any good?
I don't know anyone in that particular program, but all the majors similar to that are excellent, so I'd assume it's good. Can't say for sure though
I transferred from Liberty to the University of Lynchburg (which is where I graduated from) and can say undoubtedly that the academics at Liberty were a cakewalk compared to the U of L. Classes at Liberty felt like standard diploma track classes in high school. At the U of L, I was legitimately working hard and studying each night.
Yeah some upper level classes are intense of course, but for sure the GenEds feel easier than high school sometimes.
@@realgrahamholliday definitely. And, I'm not downing LU, just affirming that there's definitely a difference. I hope your studies bring you happiness. All the best!
It's called a diploma mill for a reason
When did you transfer
@@jasonq7504 it’s not a diploma mill lol
Good points on speaking about critiques! You gotta eat the meat (good parts) and spit out the bones (bad parts)
Do you really think that the academics is the same at most schools? I’m going to Liberty and I’ve had a few people question how good of an education I’ll be getting.
Yes, Gen Ed is like this at almost every other school. The classes that are specific to your degree will more than likely require much more studying than your basic math and English classes. Because again, there's so many people who have the same first-second year prerequisites for their degree that it's impossible to have the same intimate learning environment for all 700 students. It's gets better the further you go into college, as most things do. Good luck to you at college!
I think so yes. I haven't personally been to a ton of schools but from what I've learned from friends at VSU, MSU, UGA, and Samford, I'd say Liberty is the same as most schools
First year at Liberty felt like Sophomore in High School level academics, mixed with church youth camp. However as I moved further into my major I had a polar opposite story. I loved my time a liberty, definitely a good education. Good videos bro!
It's a very rigorous school. LU has a stigma, but the curriculum is ambitious
Princeton been effing up for decades, you'll be fine.
Is it different online? I'm thinking about going there for my Doctorate in Criminal Justice.
Online is solid from what I hear but still has all the negative aspects of doing school online like any other online class
I've heard that while undergrad degrees tend to be good, you should avoid doing graduate school there. They put a lot more effort into their undergrad degrees and their Grad department isn't as good in comparison.
If your school isn’t challenging you academically then shouldn’t you find one that does?
I’m a non-Christian who attended LUO for my Masters and now PhD. It’s alright. It would be cool though if they would get their social media team in order and stop being overly controversial
yeah haha I don't think I follow any of their pages except the unofficial meme account
How’s the aeronautics program
I know a ton of people in it who came to Liberty just for that. It's reportedly really good, but I haven't of course been in it. I do know pretty much every graduate or even senior has a job lined up for them
Any dorm advice for upcoming freshmen?
Do you mean choosing a dorm or living in it?
@@realgrahamholliday yes
As far as choosing one, I have a video on that because it's just so different for every person. As far as living with roommates, the biggest thing I'd say would be setting expectations and communication. Be just a little bit selfish and let it be known what you want and don't want. Hope that helps!
Live in commons 2, commons 3 if you like to party, or the hill. Set boundaries with your roommate!!
The enrollment at liberty according to Wikipedia is 94,709 but what is the actual on campus population? Because I don’t believe that number to be true.
I know it's around 18,000 with commuter and residential students combined
The excess in that figure comes from Liberty U online. The number is in fact accurate based on the number of students enrolled.
Yeah that’s what I thought. While liberty might have the largest enrollment in Virginia, both public universities (Tech and UVA) have higher in person populations.
worst list about Liberty: PARKING, too many cliques... its not what people think with everyone being all welcoming., dress code.... we as Christians know how to dress... to have it forced on us is foolish. not enough dorms..... and having Freshman get first pick.... why didn't they build some dorms on top of the new dining hall?????? I could go on and on but I wont.....
Yeah every college has the parking thing. I was talking with some folks at UGA and it's worse than at Liberty. The other stuff is just about perspective. There's literally thousands of colleges and they're all different
Not sure if this is true or not, but I heard they wanted to add more dorms on top of the dining hall but the city didn’t want them to or something 🤷♂️
Are you studying there? At liberty ?
Yes
Is bringing a bike a good idea
I'd say yeah there's plenty of bike racks and depending on where you live on campus it could be really helpful. I don't personally have one but know a lot of people who do.
Is Convocation required?
Yup, every Wednesday and Friday. Every week.
yep
where is Liberty located it is near Regent college. want do you have in Liberty swimming pools, hot tub, and exercise area being there is about the Lord.
It's about four hours from Regent, and the swimming pools have a dress code but that's about it
The university does a fantastic job of keeping all of the students busy on campus so that they are not out getting in trouble gallivanting around what little things there are to do in Lynchburg.
whT bout disability seating?
I'm not sure exactly where on campus you're referring to or if you mean in general, but disability seating is everywhere I've noticed. In vines center where convo is there's several spots around the top row of seats. Accessibility around campus is solid with ramps everywhere that stairs are. Hope that helps
I just hope we beat Arkansas
Praise God we did!
Seriously, if you don’t like the school, school on by. It’s not like a Liberty University students are out there, bashing Harvard for selling body parts, and whatever else that people are doing. Just live and let live.
yep
This video is LU propaganda.
