It will be interesting to see the difference with the engine mounts .Hopefully you will get some good weather to continue the work. Great video explaining how to check thermostat And temp gauge.
Hi everyone today I managed to change the engine mounts back to the Old ones. Also testing the temperature gauge and as suspected it's reading very high. Next job will be sump gasket. Thanks for watching 🤓👍
OK the sound on some of my videos is not the best this is because I am using a small Go pro session with built in microphone. I'm working on George the camera gets covered in dirt and oil. I pick it up now and then to get a quick look at what I'm doing I have watch this video on my phone and yes some times it's a bit low but can here no problem. Sorry if some are having problems but I'm not going to mess around with external microphone while working on George. Thanks for watching 🤓👍
Yes things looking good just need to sort sump gasket and can put George back together. Not bothered about temperature gauge as know it's reading high. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment 🤓👍
making me very jealous I want to mess around with mine but I still need to do some welding and make a few patch panels before it's drivable but Rome wasn't built in a day
Hi👋I work a spit shift morning and then after noon so usually get a couple of hours but can't always as have plenty of. Other things I should be doing every time I look at George I think of something else I need to do. Hopefully you will get you car sorted soon it's definitely better now the weather has changed. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment 🤓👍
@@woowoo883classiccars I'm in NZ Winter has started so can't do anything now especially because it's in my driveway sadly I don't have a garage but one day I will have mine running. a little info mine is a series 2 1000 948 cc non split windscreen not sure on the year 56 to 59 I believe someone swapped plates and vin. love your videos and your audio is fine you can get an external mic for the later models of the GoPro honestly I wouldn't bother
Thanks mate I have some bits of welding to do on George at some point. It's starting to get lot hotter now been a lot of rain so far this year hopefully it be nice summer 🤓👍
I had similar problems with my temperature gauge using the standard temperature sensor then when I got a adapter for the sensor that came with the kit it worked perfectly the Morris standard sensor is not 12v I think it’s 8v that’s why it reads higher
Yes that could possibly be the case the main thing is George is not running at 120 c. To be honest I have never had a gauge in any other moggies I have owned this was in boot with other Gauges and I put them in for the look. I never thought he was getting that hot and not boiling over. But had decided to test as people were concerned that George was running very hot. I may have a different one somewhere to try. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment 🤓👍
Do you have the temperature gauge connected through a voltage regulator? I had the same issue when I fitted a temp gauge to my minor, cured it with a voltage regulator.

I've got a sender connected to my thermostat with a Smiths gauge and it is spot on with the reading.
That's good this one was in the housing in the boot might be wrong one?.

Hi have you considered it might be the sender unit inI the top of the thermostat housing may not be compatible with your guage
