Hi everyone 👋. George is alive just a couple of little snags to sort out. I made a mistake of not changing the gasket on the water pump 😝. But overall happy George is running. Test Drive coming soon. Thanks for watching. www.buymeacoffee.com/morrisminor
we are pleased you got Gorge running again you have done what i would have done many years ago and for it to have started up first time was fantastic the good old a series enjine look forward to seeing you driving dont worry too much about the leeks fix as you find them give yourself a pat on you back you did very well took me back to the good old days
Great job. Well done! Great to see George running again. Sounds like a very sweet engine - not even 'tappety' from a cold first start! Seems like a winner to me!
@@craiggillespie126 Good on you Craig for helping out with the engine donation. Very decent of you. There is a great community within minor owners I find.
Congratulations! on restoring George better sounding than he was before, he looks Great! This has motivated me to get a move on with my 56 mogg got a brand new radiator to fit but have to flush out the coolant system with water first considering what flushed out of the old Osberton works radiator, Again Well done
Well done, sounds like you were given a sweet engine. Just an observation your new air filter looks too tall and the lid is not seating, possibly crushing the filter. Good luck with test drive.
fantastic - re the temp gauge, I'd be less worried about the actual numbers - you just know where 'normal' is and as long as it stays in that range then all good
Did you say George runs at 110 degrees? If so that may have been the cause of the problem. Thermostat should open at about 90C, test in a pan of hot water heated up to boiling. If that's okay, the radiator probably needs flushing or a new core. Always get a gasket set and replace, it'll save you a bunch of time and heartache
Hi I think George would be boiling over at 110/120 so must be the gauge reading a bit higher than it should. Checked the stats in boiling water it's OK so was the old one. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment 🤓👍
@woowoo883classiccars I didn't see whether you had the original temperature sender installed in the head. They go, but when they are working are reliable. It can run over 100C as its a pressurised system. I'd still be worrying my radiator was furred up and not working properly
mate doesnt that sound great i,d be rapt ,,i bought the peep mirrors but next video u make can u linger on them a minute pretty sure i see how they are mounted i was going for door frame until i saw yours,, thanks mate alan
