Having loved your work I came across this video and now I love you. Such profound smarts. So well expressed. It's one of those deliveries that I'd see transforming the world if it were widely seen. So grateful you are there. You are doing just the right thing.
Thank you John. I met you at the DeGrowth in the America's conference in Montreal and will always remember your story and your awakening moment. Your soul is on the right path and that's all that really matters right? Having said this, as an embodied soul on the journey at this 'time' I am very involved in the Transition Movement and have started a solidarity cooperative in my neighborhood. Not making much 'profit' but creating more and more awareness and abundance. In gratitude brother. xox
I am a business student. Everyone keeps asking me why i didn't study biology or geography. But i know that i have to study the economic system and finance and understand how to change the system into a regenerative one. I have been thinking about a regenerative agriculture. Finally i have found people who also think about the economic system the way i want to think about it.
Beautiful! I found CapInstitute via Dr. Sally Goerner article...Why Trump Phenomenon Signals an Oligarchy on the Brink of a Civilization-Threatening Collapse... the work of Charles Eisenstein might be of interest to people here...author of Sacred Economics. Also, everyone here can have my book for free, as a gift. My work focuses on the more micro level of restaurants and how they can be a vehicle for community building and progress change. Cheers!
I agree, understanding the holistic perspective of economy requires putting down the guard with financial belief systems, putting aside the childish ambitions and personal desires, to come together and consider the sum of the whole to create an economic system that considers the world as a body that is nurtured by a constant and consistent flow of blood to nurture everyone, leaving nothing and no-one behind. #RegenerativeCapitalism #LivingIncomeGuaranteed Proposal would agree with this way to Perfect Capitalism by considering Universal Principles that are physical in nature, not speculative
This guy seems thoughtful and well meaning - who wouldn't want to "come together and do the right thing"? But he doesn't seem to have much of a clue what "the right thing" might be in the current situation Capitalism will not be persuaded to reform itself by misty-eyed talk of "holistic thinking" and "flushing the toxins" out of its system. As Naomi Klein and many others have argued, the only hope we have of stopping capitalism from its breathtakingly rapid and effective destruction of the environment is radical political action.
Tom Scott Hi Tom, I agree with you that radical political action is necessary for putting the breaks on in the time necessary (I would go even farther and say that the equivalent of war time mobilization at the global level is what might be necessary), however I feel you are misinformed in your critique of the video. What regenerative capitalism presents is a theoretical framework that will guide the fundamental redesign of our current economic system (in fact, all human systems). This theory is grounded in the latest scientific understand of how the universe actually works (via General Systems Theory and systems thinking) and also in practical, ground floor examples of the regenerative economy in action (see Capital Institute's Field Guide to Investing in a Regenerative Economy). These examples include cooperatives, community land trusts, and other projects emerging all over the world that represent tangible alternatives to capitalism. So while "holistic thinking" might sound misty eyed, the vocabulary is actually based in a concrete understanding of how the universe works--how life emerged on the planet and how ecosystems organize themselves to be regenerative--and therefore self sustaining. John and the rest of the team have quite a good idea of what the right things are to do; the bigger challenge is just getting people to see the world this way and appreciate the fact that answers are all around us if we want "to come together to do the right thing."
Government cant change it because actually you cant have capitalism and a government at the same time. Maybe thats the big missing key here, governments are complex and calculable in the future, maybe we should find a way of living with out it, with out basing our society on threats of violent if you dont obey.
