Digimon world is literally the only game so alike to the animated digimon season one series. The world is built up so well, the random encounters for event, the barely any clues for digivolving, the ever expanding town. Its perfect. 2 and 3 never come close. You really have that feeling that you are stranded somewhere and you worked your ass off to build it up from scratch.
This game digimon world 1, tomba 2, final fantasy 9, xenogears, star ocean the second story, tales of eternia/destiny ii, megaman legends 2, suikoden 2(the rare occasion of a game that is better than its predecessor) are few ps1 games/gems that were done so well they each represent their own unique charm. Then in ps2 there beat down fist of vengeance, steambot chronicle, the original yakuza 1&2 and persona4golden(which tops P3 in everyway, only to be topped by P5R in everything AGAIN). I skipped ps3 era and jumped to xbox360 so im not sure if there any game that gives off their own unique charms, but i came back to ps4 later on. Anyone that has played all these ps classic games i listed above will understand what im saying bout how each of these game has their own unique charms that any other game that come later and tries to imitate it will feel like a copy and paste, recycled game format. Do give it a try.
The main criticism I had about this game is that despite the PAL Boxart showcasing all 7 of the main digimon, you can only raise 5 of them, with Gomamon's evolutionary line completely absent from the game and Tentomon being an NPC (though you could get Kabuterimon and beyond)
This was my childhood, and I would play it periodically casually learning more throughout my youth into my teens. My Playstation bit the dust, years passed, I discovered the internet, and emulation, unraveled tons of childhood mysteries, and never actually found the nerve to try and survive the final dungeon. This game is not for people who suck at video games. Enter retro game collecting. I own it again and I've beaten it. I've discovered glitches and exploits, that make the game way more manageable, like one-shotting monochromons shop. It's been an absolute journey living life with this game. Someday I'm going to 100% it in one swift and organized play through and I cannot wait!
I had a similar situation, playing it on and off for many years and getting slightly obsessed with the intricacies of this PS1 game. The monochromon shop is always a pain in the ass and i’d be interested to know how you can one shot it!
There’s a UA-cam channel called Geta 92 that goes into better detail. It’s different depending on your console, but you sleep save on entrance and reset your game. Then you do some really basic English manipulation and it’ll do the exact same thing every single time.
Another cool tip is you can actually clip through the invisible bridge and ice sanctuary when it tries to stop you. Takes a bit of finesse but once you figure it out, it’s a game changer!

Digimon is a good monster raising game, seeing your small village hub slowly getting bigger with buildings and businesses thanks to the digimons you are recruiting, its very satisfying seeing your progress. The main problem is this game so cryptic at times, from the factors and variables needed for a digimon to digivolve to your liking up to the conditions needed to get into certain places as well as meet or fight recruitable digimons I am not sure, but If your digimon died of old age, its stats and progress somewhat gets inherited to the next baby digimon, techs discovered and learned will get to keep it, able to re-equip it to any digimon that is compatible to it
Once you get more experienced on your first run through, using all of the battle chips from bosses, and the rock tunnel training you should be able to reliably get a metal greymon with your very first digimon. Raising an ultimate naturally is the real killer in the early game. Once you get an ultimate it's life gets extended by a ton as well.

I find it interesting to play these games I grew up with, with the resources of the internet, and my aged ability to comprehend more complex RPGs, I am always able to progress further and faster than I've ever got before. Wonderful video! Was really enjoyable. I'd love to see something like this but for Digimon W0rld, the fangame where you can use your vpets inside the game.
Not bad for a first time player! I hope you play it again! I'm a veteran, and I still am learning something new about this game. I noticed your discipline is always zero [blue face with sunglasses, should be yellow face with clear glasses) This is due to praising which you shouldn't need to do often, let happiness raise naturally or with happy mushrooms or blue apples found in the forest. This causes your digimon to poop faster. Higher discipline = Longer time before pooping. Happiness goes down during training, but if you rest properly and feed, the happiness will even out. Give it another shot and try for an ultimate! Piximon and Mamemon are easy ultimates to get!
Digimon World 1 is the best Digimon game i love all of them but this one is close to my heart as i grew up with this one and can play as many times as still never get bored 😊
Some tips. Always take a rest after 3 trainings. Usually ultimate digimon need certain weight requirement, most of the time it's around 30- 35lbs+. That's why it's necessary to requited palmon and vagiemon as soon as possible (for better daily meat quality)
Once you have Vegiemon recruited you can get Hawk Radish and Super Carrots from him. They increase and decrease your weight for better control especially if you're going for a low weight like Mamemon
As a digimon world vet I was thoroughly entertained by this video and your journey learning the mechanics. It reminded me of when I was a kid and I had such a small inkling of what was going on but kept getting numemon 😂 anyway great job man I hope it was fun
Growing up struggling with this game it was a little satisfying watching an adult make average process I'm not gonna lie 😂. At least this was a very authentic playthrough because you were never able to get ultimate! I think I managed to get a metalgreymon and skullgreymon ONE time in my life. I remember me and my friend yelling and celebrating like crazy because of how hard it was and then the sad reality setting in that soon we were going to lose our ultimate digimon we worked so hard for as well. It's pretty crazy the stats needed to get there and then consider the boss battles at the end require beating digimon with close to 9000 HP dealing out 1k damage per attack. Insane.
i wish i forgot this game and re-live again in this world, we've finished this game over and over but the very first attempt is the best gaming experience i ever had
Its funny because Numemon would've gotten you Monzaemon had you explored a bit more. A free ultimate that can megalo spark and carry you throughout the whole game. Enjoyed the video though !
was only 5years old when i played this. did not remember that the died that often. sure remember that green and yellow poop digimons was a pain in the ass if the evolved to them. did not know you could get the old back. hmm made me want to find the game and play it again 😁
Interesting seeing someone not familiar with the game and how they progress. It is very very weird hearing 'Day 65 and i recruit colemon', when colemon and betamon are mandatory for me to recruti in the first day, immediately xD. Defiantely the game I have been closest to playing enough times that i treat each playthrough as a speedrun =P
I'm a simple person, anytime I see love towards Digimon World, I like. There's also a very different style but also great Digimon World 2003 (3 in the US, but it's a trimmed down version of 2003, which has more story and is more grindy)
I was really cheering for you to get the Ultimate Digimon form but it is really hard. Sometimes harder then it should, I think. Great video! Hope you really enjoyed the game!
This game is my top 3 games in ps1 along with MGS and Castlevania SotN. Even afer many years, after I got my first smartphone and pc, I download an emulator to play this game again.
I was terrible at this game. Loved playing it but could never figure out how the evolution worked. Seemed completely random to me as a child. I do have very fond memories of this game though.
This game rocks, but it's pretty hard, I didn't manage to get any far when I was a kid. But once Covid dropped, I decided to pick it up and I got really far, only with champions though, until some dark/green digital area. Was never able to get a ultimate without following any guide, so I gave up, didn't want to spoil the fun with guides
This is one of my all time favorite games! I'd love to see you do World 2 or 3 (I'm playing 3 now). But if you liked World 1, why not follow it up with Next Order? It was basically a revamped version of the original Digimon World.
@@arachnid_sense it has a different vibe. But it's the same game at its core. Similar plot, same game mechanics but with more content. It's like the FFVII remake compared to FFVII. They're the only two games in existence with those game mechanics.
I remember feeling so smart when I found out that training intelligence can open up new battle techniques :D Also curious how you never got an ultimate evolution. Seems like too many care mistakes.
That's not necessarily true, Digimon such as SkullGreymon need 10+ care mistakes, and Piximon and Giromon (among others) require you to make 15+ as part of their requirements. Don't get me wrong, care mistakes ARE important when raising a Digimon, but there's more to it than that, as there are 4 requirements that need to be satisfied to digivolve (you need to get at least 3), those being: *weight, which needs to be within 5 units of the listed stat when using a guide to qualify *number of care mistakes made (again, there are certain Digimon that require you to make a lot of the to digivolve) *how high certain stats are, which can be a bit daunting when aiming for an ultimate level *bonus conditions (there are 2 or more listed for most Digimon, but you only need to get 1 to count) All in all, care mistakes are just one small part to take into consideration when your Digimon digivolves, and they are no more important than any other condition I listed above; for example: I once got my Numemon to become a Monzaemon (of whom needs zero care mistakes) by raising his stats and maintaining his weight while having known 49+ total techniques in the game (this being the minimum number required in this instance)
@@matthewkuscienko4616 you got Monzaemon by digivolving the Numemon ?? I though the only way to get Monzaemon is by getting the costume at the Toy Factory
@@MrRandom7 It's technically possible to get Monzaemon without the costume, but it's much more difficult to get that way. The requirements needed are as follows: *Zero care mistakes (one of only 2 Digimon in the game that I'm aware of that need this as a requirement) *40 weight (can be anywhere between 35 and 45 to count) *3000 HP and MP, and 300 in all other stats (which is low for an ultimate level in this game) *For the bonus conditions, you can either get 49+ techniques learned or 50+ battles won Do note that while your Digimon's stats will be reduced when digivolving to Numemon, they aren't reduced as much as they would be for Sukamon (if I'm not mistaken, Numemon retains 75% of the stats of the previous form, while Sukamon cuts your stats in half). If you know how to digivolve your Digimon it's actually possible to get a Numemon with pretty good stats, which can make getting your stats high enough to become Monzaemon significantly easier. In my opinion, the hardest thing about getting Monzaemon is the no care mistake requirement, which is pretty brutal; everything else isn't overly difficult: the weight is easy enough to manage, getting 49 techniques won't be doable until later on, but it essentially makes it one less thing to have to worry about once you do, and the stats aren't hard to get to if you commit to spending a lot of time in the green gym (as I mentioned earlier, they are actually very low for an ultimate level Digimon)
As a kid I had no idea how to get the mons I wanted. But I got surprisingly far. Always got stuck in the Dino region tho. Never beat it. But such good memories
I'm kind of surprised he never got an ultimate. I remember after i got kabuterimon and kuwagomon i was practically picking which ultimate i wanted, even herculeskabuterimon, which is actually a mega. Megadramon is the best. Ice statue to paralyze and then that all stats buffing mech digimon buff to max out and hes unstoppable
I was saddened when your Angemon didn't become Devimon when he lost his first life. Devimon is legitimately the best Champion in the game and better than many ultimates.
Wow you almost got Devimon. Iirc it's 50% chance of happening when Angemon dies in battle with less 50 discipline and you are like at 0. Everyone gets bullied by Piximon haha. Smol menace still spreading terror. There's actually something you can with Numemon but it's really hard walkathon while dodging enemies. One of the best parts of the game for me. (Talking about Toy Town) i hope you managed to play there's so much more to explore in the game.
I remember finishing the game with Phoenixmon. I dont know how it evolved (back then, Phoenixmon was an Ultimate Digimon), but i kicked the boss' ass with it. Now i play the Next Order, Phoenixmon is Mega now.. sadly the boss is too strong yet, so i got some training to do.
I wish they would do a remake of this that keeps the Charme of this game. All the new digimon world games just don’t feel like this one. The world design in this game is just perfect. Also the digimon partners here feel much more alive than in the new games

Actually you dont
Most uötimates only need a certain amount of all the requirements checked
Great video that was good, i never seen a 100 day video for digimon before lol
after watching this video i can confirm i had no i dea what i was doing in this game as a kid. this game looks stupidly hard
I think because it is so old and doesn't hand hold like new games. But yeah it can be pretty difficult, especially starting out
As a digimon world vet I was thoroughly entertained by this video and your journey learning the mechanics.
Insane.
I had so much fun on this game as a kid. I remember getting it from a garage sale
This game was hard as heck when I played it when I was younger… I couldn’t figure out how to digievolve them
you did well. i remeber renting this game and my digimon always turned into that yellow poo with arms
That was pretty cool. Never played the world one, but I am checking around for Digimon content after playing the card one for psx.
I love this game so much. Already got 100 prosperity rate, and still start playing over again sometimes.
man.. back in the days playing this, I had no clue what i was doing but still enjoyed the fuck out of it 😂🤣
i wish i forgot this game and re-live again in this world, we've finished this game over and over but the very first attempt is the best gaming experience i ever had
My word, I remember as a kid my only sure fire way of getting an ultimate was making Numemon wear a suit in Toytown to get Teddymon.
Nostalgia overload. Probably my fav. PS1 game.
I wish they would remaster this game
They kinda did bro
digimon world re:digitize, re:digitize decode and next order are all somewhat of a remaster/ sequel to the original digimon world.
yo great video , i didnt know this game i wanna try it after watching all the different things you could do!
I was really cheering for you to get the Ultimate Digimon form but it is really hard. Sometimes harder then it should, I think. Great video! Hope you really enjoyed the game!
when i played this years ago i had a scuffed cd that would freeze up whenever I unlocked and entered the jungle area. fun concept
Dude love the video !! Please do digimon world next order
This game is my top 3 games in ps1 along with MGS and Castlevania SotN. Even afer many years, after I got my first smartphone and pc, I download an emulator to play this game again.
The amount of hours I put in this game growing up is nuts looking back at it. Never made it to the end.
I was terrible at this game. Loved playing it but could never figure out how the evolution worked. Seemed completely random to me as a child. I do have very fond memories of this game though.
This is a really good game i hv played this many times. From age 10 til now age 33 everytime i play it i had so much fun!!
I wish some publisher would make an online game version of this game. The PVP aspect would blow away the competition
Yo that would be incredible
Thanks for this and taking the time to do it
This game rocks, but it's pretty hard, I didn't manage to get any far when I was a kid. But once Covid dropped, I decided to pick it up and I got really far, only with champions though, until some dark/green digital area. Was never able to get a ultimate without following any guide, so I gave up, didn't want to spoil the fun with guides
This game made me so mad as kid but I loved it. It’s def a itch a gotta scratch. I need to beat it now.
This is one of my all time favorite games! I'd love to see you do World 2 or 3 (I'm playing 3 now). But if you liked World 1, why not follow it up with Next Order? It was basically a revamped version of the original Digimon World.
next order doesnt give the same feel as digimon world 1 lol some places felt way too big and empty
@@arachnid_sense it has a different vibe. But it's the same game at its core. Similar plot, same game mechanics but with more content. It's like the FFVII remake compared to FFVII. They're the only two games in existence with those game mechanics.
Digimon reditize decode
@@crowzet0 how can I play that one? is it any good? Ive always wanted to try it but at the time they said i had to get some translator or something
@@arachnid_sense it's good, I played it with 3ds emulator. You can just download the ROMs with translation patch in it
100 in game days and not a single Ultimate? Wow. Didn't know that could happen really.
Because he dont use guide, thats why
@@smharyanto4660 he did use though, for leomon
Season 1 and 2 of digimon was fantastic.
I loved this one, still have my original copy.
How can I find this game? I try so many years to find this game that I play a lot time ago.
I remember my childhood days, I'm glad that they've made a remake of this game in STEAM pc version :) called Digimon World: Next Order
I remember feeling so smart when I found out that training intelligence can open up new battle techniques :D
Also curious how you never got an ultimate evolution. Seems like too many care mistakes.
That's not necessarily true, Digimon such as SkullGreymon need 10+ care mistakes, and Piximon and Giromon (among others) require you to make 15+ as part of their requirements. Don't get me wrong, care mistakes ARE important when raising a Digimon, but there's more to it than that, as there are 4 requirements that need to be satisfied to digivolve (you need to get at least 3), those being:
*weight, which needs to be within 5 units of the listed stat when using a guide to qualify
*number of care mistakes made (again, there are certain Digimon that require you to make a lot of the to digivolve)
*how high certain stats are, which can be a bit daunting when aiming for an ultimate level
*bonus conditions (there are 2 or more listed for most Digimon, but you only need to get 1 to count)
All in all, care mistakes are just one small part to take into consideration when your Digimon digivolves, and they are no more important than any other condition I listed above; for example: I once got my Numemon to become a Monzaemon (of whom needs zero care mistakes) by raising his stats and maintaining his weight while having known 49+ total techniques in the game (this being the minimum number required in this instance)
The requirements needed are as follows:
*Zero care mistakes (one of only 2 Digimon in the game that I'm aware of that need this as a requirement)
*40 weight (can be anywhere between 35 and 45 to count)
*3000 HP and MP, and 300 in all other stats (which is low for an ultimate level in this game)
*For the bonus conditions, you can either get 49+ techniques learned or 50+ battles won
Do note that while your Digimon's stats will be reduced when digivolving to Numemon, they aren't reduced as much as they would be for Sukamon (if I'm not mistaken, Numemon retains 75% of the stats of the previous form, while Sukamon cuts your stats in half).
@@matthewkuscienko4616 very informative, will try it later, thank you.
@@MrRandom7 Good luck, hope it works out
My favorite game of all time ❤️
This was a fun watch since it was my fav game has a kid I was hoping you made it further on your blind run. Maybe we can see another 100 days of this.
I love this digimon game, I still have this in my collection. 😊
Bro doesn't even know that Champion isn't their final form...
Ouh Mann my First Game on ps1 i Played it a lot After That i played Final fantasy With vivi i dont forget this lovely time
Lets see more gameplay!
I was saddened when your Angemon didn't become Devimon when he lost his first life. Devimon is legitimately the best Champion in the game and better than many ultimates.
6:44 “I saw Pixiemon” my inner thoughts: run for your life you fool!
Yep! I didn't think that battle through haha
(Talking about Toy Town)
i hope you managed to play there's so much more to explore in the game.
This game has better animations than BDSP does.
Wasn't expecting that first death, really thought you were digivolving into a Sukamon with all the turds dry roasting in the sun.
He dont use Bear costume while hv tsukaimon trigger me
I remember finishing the game with Phoenixmon. I dont know how it evolved (back then, Phoenixmon was an Ultimate Digimon), but i kicked the boss' ass with it. Now i play the Next Order, Phoenixmon is Mega now.. sadly the boss is too strong yet, so i got some training to do.
I could never understand digimon world 1 as a kid. But I loved digimon world 2
I wish they would do a remake of this that keeps the Charme of this game. All the new digimon world games just don’t feel like this one. The world design in this game is just perfect. Also the digimon partners here feel much more alive than in the new games
that was so.... heartwarming...
I wished I could have played more of this game, but my copy got scratched and failed to load afterwards.
My favorite game of all time
A classic, still such a great game 😃
before the emulator and walkthrough...we play without guide just play with feelings
Yooooooo lets go
Absolute banger video my guy
I woke up and thought about this game today, god damn this shit was good 😂
Missed the opportunity to get a free ultimate with Numemon. He can digivolve into the Monzemon costume in toy town.
I noticed quote a bit of street poops lol
Now this is content
This was such a great game! An incredibly infuriating game, but great nonetheless!
This game looks amazing
great video bud
I can remember me taking maybe 2-3 hours just to catch seadramon, that dude very hard to catch
I had a metal mamemon before. He was the strongest digimon i have ever had
Nice, I haven't had him yet
I loved this as a kid but didn’t fully understand how to to play it I can’t remember the farthest I got but I still had fun.
could you do a part 2? 200 days?? this is so fun and refreshing to the 100 day videos
This is the greatest game of all time 😊
"hE'S A MASSIVE ANGEL SO I WAS LIKE :"yes this is great."
