Sexual assault is not just a violent event. It is also an act of robbery since it takes away the victim's happiness, self-esteem, freedom of consent to say "No", sense of safety, and dignity....... DO you know that some or many victims of sexual assault committed suicide??!!

And isn't it funny how the first question is always "what were you wearing?"

I hate how this portrays the assaulter as a stranger. Most of the time it's someone well known. Ugh!

Ok well in this case it's not. Just because that's the usual case, doesn't mean women should not perceive strangers as threats as well

From my perspective, these rapists are yet another reason why I wish that vampire heroes and heroines were real, as vampire heroes would use their powers to take down people who commit crimes like rape and sexual assault...

My name is Angie Ethell, and I am the President/Owner of a small business called Emergency Free Alert. My husband/Partner, John, and I have been actively following the spearheading efforts of reducing sexual assault on campuses and are not impressed with the fact that a solution has been put in place. A senator, Kirsten Hillenbrand from Washington D.C. caught our attention with the following statement - "The price of education should not include a 1 in 5 chance of being sexually assaulted. America's colleges and universities are the best in the world, but it is simply unacceptable that they become havens for rape and sexual assault. It is time to take this crisis head on and end the scourge of sexual assault on our college campuses, hold offenders accountable, and keep our students safe." My husband, John and I, were actually going to use the quotation on our website for our campaign against ending sexual violence. We have 3 daughters, one in college presently, and 2 preparing for college and this "sweep under the rug" act that is going on at all the universities around the country is very concerning for us. We are a global distributor for a product called the V.Alrt, and our market had actually been centered around seniors and young children. We realized recently that the V.Alrt could actually diminish, and possible end the problem with sexual assault on campuses. Our teenage girls use it on their key ring in case someone ever tries to abduct them or sexually assault them and I think this could be the perfect solution to the ongoing dilemma that no one seems to have an answer for. You can watch a video of the V.Alrt on our Facebook site emergencyfreealert.com to give you a small idea of what we are working with but it doesn't do it justice on what technology this quarter-size button can really do in all variations of situations. My husband and I truly believe in this product and feel very strongly for all parents across the nation to not have to worry sending their children away to college anymore. Please help us stop the sexual assault on our children at our college campuses and take an activist approach with us on this issue.
Please contact me either at 407-413-3243 or by email at angie.ethell@emergencyfreealert.com
Visit our FACEBOOK page at: emergencyfreealert.com
    Kindest regards,
    Angie Ethell

she imagines herself in another place
her eyes closed trying as hard not to see his face
just hoping that he sees that he is doing it isn't right
not still seeing him she fights
trying as hard as she bleeds
      she endures the pain
blood on the shattered ends im strain
knowing after this she won't be the same
      finally he stops
she opens her eyes hoping it's all a dream
      but it's real

It's not just men who sexually assault women! When I was in the fourth grade I was molested by my so called friend when she was over. I felt useless. Nobody could hear me with the duct tape over my mouth. I cried. I never told. That was my worst mistake. SPEAK OUT PLEASE. Even if you are a man even if you are a woman even if you're non binary. No matter what gender just please....tell somebody.
