I would have thought a 125cc on the motorway is a scary prospect, there a lot of mental drivers with no tolerance of other users. Nice little bike none the less.
Most of my motorway riding is about the 50mph mark around here. And regardless of what I'm riding there's always the dodgy driver somewhere on my travels. Thanks for the comment, Cheers
Oh Joe you had me in shock there when you mentioned the E word, I'm relieved you cleared that up and saw sense. I'm pleased you've found it easy to adapt your riding to suit the bike's capabilities. I collected my son's KTM Duke 125 and took it for an inaugural run, I've never felt so awkward in my life, well apart from my first bike which was a Raleigh Wisp 😊😂
You very quickly get used to it. And it's great fun on the twisty lanes. Loving it.
I've put a little over 10,000km on my CB125F now and recently acquired a 390 Duke and in my experience it doesn't matter if you're going slow or sticking to the limit exactly - there's always someone who wants to get past and to hell with your safety
Your CB125 is doing well. It's a popular bike for a reason it does what it needs to do gets you from A to B and with a lot of fun along the way. I do see many bad drivers who don't appreciate the needs of motorcycles or indeed bicyclists. That's why I have cameras installed front and rear on all my bikes. I had the Indian built CBF125 a few years ago, appalling build quality and dodgy nylon tyres, but it got me about long enough for me to realise it wasn't for me.
Nice to see it's replacement has improved somewhat.
So far build quality seem not to bad, considering the cost of the motorbike. I believe it rusts easy without proper care so it's something i'm keeping an eye on. Thanks for your comment. Cheers
I think only electric motorcycle I've seen is by reviewers, I've seen exactly one electric motorcycle on the road in the last eight years. Tons of little stand on type scooters. So does it take you about 30 minutes to get to work on the Honda 125? If you don't mind me asking what is your occupation?
Hello Jerry, Thanks for your valued comments as always. Takes about 30 mins to get to work only 14 miles away, but only about 5 minutes more than my NT 1100. I am a Technical Engineer, I get involved in Food manufacturing Process Plant projects, Pumps, Pipes, and Tanks and the like, and end of line packing and palletising equipment, quite varied. Cheers.
I had one 2023 model for around 2 months and while it was ok ride, i found the gearing to get stuck at traffic lights , i had to dump the clutch and move forwad and then try to change gear. It would not go into first , happened all the time. After hearing its a common thing on 125's i would not use a geared 125cc again.
Not something i have had happen yet but the bike is reasonably new. Currently the gearbox is smooth as silk and can't fault it (Touch Wood) I will keep an eye out for any issues thanks for the heads up just in case. Cheers
I have had the problem with my '13 CBR250R as well, does not happen very often but it did scare me once or twice while I was still getting familiar with it.
I normally find if I'm going down the gears as I slow down it always is selects the gears great. Think it's as you say something you get used to and learn to live with.
I think I'd be shitting myself at that speed on a motorway😕😕🫤

One consolation for you Joe, if you think that little bike is slow with you on it, imagine it with my weight on it!🤣🤣
So what was the roadblock for?
Hello Nige, The QE2 Bridge was shut to remove a broken down lorry. Traffic around this area of the ride is generally slow about 50 max and this is an technically an A road the A282 only for a short stretch before and after the crossing. Have a good evening. Cheers
Is this bike not capable of much more than 40mph?
Yes the bike will do Indicated 70mph probably about 65mph in reality, but that's not good for the bikes longevity. I think 45-50 mph is ideal and it copes well at them speeds. I may post a video of the bike doing a motorway run at 70mph in the near future. Thanks for watching the video and posting a comment. Cheers
Minimum speed applys on most roads. You can get a fine for doing 30mph less than the speed limit.
Very interesting. So technically 40mph on a motorway is not an issue. I presume that this is for motorways there must be a % less as in a 30mph zone you couldn't ride anywhere. Would be interesting if you could provide the source of this information and where this is stated as a legal requirement in the UK. Is it in the Highway code ? or elswhere. @@kimetogo Road traffic act, if your traveling slowly on a fast road it causes a danger to both you and other traffic so please dont broadcast it or try and dispute this law. Its called careless driving (driving too slow) 3 points

I've got one of these, I've had it 2 months and it's in for its first service this week (600 miles).
It is fun to ride, but I wouldn't take it on our local dual carriageways in north Wales. The performance isn't adequate, and I don't think it's fair or safe to block the inside lane at 45-50 mph on the uphill stretches.
I've been driving the A55 every working day for 20+ years, and I can count the number of learner motorbikes I've seen on the fingers of 1 hand, and never the same one twice! It's no fun, being tailgated by a HGV when you're already flat out.
If only the learner limit was increased, say to 20 hp, with an extended CBT, we'd be free to go on any road safely (not motorways of course).
Just my opinion, feel free to disagree.
I do agee that a higher power would be an advantage as I know it's just on the limit for motorways. But for local roads it's ideal for a learner to get prepared for the next bike up. I personally have no issues with riding on Motorways and dual carriage ways etc with the CB125 F and will get up to 50 /55mph. Everyone has the option to overtake if they want to pass. Vehicles can ride as close as they want and sometimes do when I'm in / or on any vehicle. I Also ride my NT 1100 everywhere and enjoy the different riding styles between the both bikes. I will do all my servicing of the bike and soon will be doing the 600 mile service, as I've done about 400 so far. Many thanks for your honest comments and great to hear from another CB125 F Owner. Why are you doing 40? Is it a new bike (breaking in) and also never "give room" always thought by dvsa officials to ride defensively to discourage unsafe overtake. Not preventing them from overtaking. But make them go wide.
I was doing 40 -45 when picking the bike up and was first few miles. I had to go on the motorway, if you want to get to the other side it's the only option. (You always have to look at all the factors, and the whole picture of the "40mph on a motorway" statement to understand ) as you certainly do. The QE2 Bridge Dartford crossing is where the M25 changes to the A282 Non Motorway then back to Motorway M25 after you cross this is same for both directions. But is basically a motorway just with an A road status. And the traffic at the time was very light, all 4 lanes very clear at the time plenty of room for others to go round. I have no issues in explaining to the police the reasons if they stop me and will continue to ride to work keeping up with the traffic flow at 40-50mph as that's all the other drivers are doing on the motorway section I ride upon. Are they overtaking you because you're doing 40 in a 60, and not to do with the fact you're on a small bike? Willfully going that slowly in the dry with good visibility endangers yourself and others. Overtaking is a dangerous manoeuvre for anyone. You're the hazard here pal, not the car drivers. I suggest you get some more training, some common sense, or, even better, a bus pass.
Thank you for your comment. In the UK there is a speed limit, which is as it says a maximum. You can drive any speed you wish up to that. If I want to Ride at 40 I will do so. Overtaking I don't consider a dangerous manoeuvre and if anyone is not comfortable overtaking, then they should not do so. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I respect yours right or wrong.
Bull shit making some one exceed thier comfort level is dangerous, if some one wants to travell very where at warp speed then its up to them to drive and pass safty, youre the danger if you cant read the road, we are all different and have different skill leval , bet you fun to be with
@@kimetogoweeelllll not sure about that. If I was to do 40 in a 60 on my mod 2 test that would be a fail if I continued to do so. I’m pretty sure you have to be a lot closer to the limit than that.
Hello Thank you for your comment. Certainly a Hot topic and comments are great for Algorithm. Normally I do about 50-55 on the motorway as mostly when I join at the QU2 bridge the speed is always aroung 40-50 due to traffic build up. and I'm quite happy in that environment as I do it daily. I think if there is a minimum speed for a road it is shown in a blue circle with the minimum speed indicated. But I agree 40mph is a bit slow. I was overtaken by a police car when doing 45 on the motorway and I will post a video soon on that one. Many thanks for the comment.
