I am unsure why India is referring to ADK as a Marxist or pro-China figure. ADK has explicitly stated his intention to collaborate with India and has affirmed that he will not take any actions that would compromise India's national security. Furthermore, he has expressed his willingness to engage with any country on economic matters without hesitation. I believe now is the opportune moment for South Asian nations to work together for the collective benefit while safeguarding their sovereignty.

They know really well that antagonizing India wont do anything positive. But transparency will be the corner stone of the negotiations

You are not current with the situation in sri Lanka. AKD. has assured just as India has changed the way it was acting in the past JVP has changed its stance on affairs with India. Recently AKD has stressed out his government will have very cordial relationship with India as well as China and will no way jeopardize India's security. He has talked about how Sri Lanka can be benefited by being in books of India considering major economic breakthroughs India has made. During his recent India tour he visited several Indian businesses to look into collaboration with sri Lankan businesses. You must come out of your anti JVP stance and be updated with current trends.

Sri Lanka is an independent, sovereign nation with a separate seat in the United Nations. AKD is the leader of the NPP (National People's Power) and won the 2024 presidential election democratically, or in other words, the people of Sri Lanka elected him. The NPP is a broad political front in which diverse individuals work together to achieve a common goal. What is this goal? "A developed Sri Lanka based on true democracy".
Sri Lankans want a country free from corruption, bribery, political fraud, and nepotism; however, most Sri Lankans are now completely disillusioned with the politicians of the mainstream political parties who have ruled the country for decades. So, there was a big vacuum in Sri Lankan politics, and people filled this vacuum with NPP. Sri Lankans now want the NPP to fulfill its action plan to move the country forward as the NPP promised to create a country free from corruption, bribery, fraud, and nepotism.
It is very clear that the NPP is not a threat to India or any country as it is obvious in the NPP manifesto that the NPP follows a non-aligned foreign policy. People voted for NPP after studying its manifesto and other policies, so NPP is a democratic choice of the Sri Lankan people.
Someone should speak for these media events, if not these channels will build up a story totally different from what the current president AKD never told. He has clearly mentioned that we have understand who we are, being pro China or pro India is not our way but work with them equally .
