How would you describe the facing length / curve? I have severe TMJ (jaw joint issues), and short facing curves are bad for that condition for me. Bergs are either "SMS" or "M." Per Berg's website: "The term 'SMS' or 'M' indicates the choice of facing. The SMS, or French facing is usually shorter with a steeper curve. The 'M' or American facing is slightly longer with a flatter type curve. These facing term is only to indicate the facing curve length and in no way affects the actual sound of the mouthpiece." I have TMJ (jaw issues). I need a longer facing curve. The Retro Revival site shows a photo an original Berg of 85/1 SMS. They are offering only 110 / 2 (at least that's what the chooser offers). If they used that cherry original, and it was the 85/1 SMS, they altered it. So, I'm wondering if they gave it an "M" facing curve. Do you know? Thanks! (are you still using it as your daily player)?
This test was a 100/2 tip opening. I absolutely love this mouthpiece and would highly recommend that you try it!
Thanks for the review and the sports car analogy! Sounds exciting. I'm definitely grabbing one!
That would knock my socks off
amazing how Hawkish that sounded when you were demonstrating the "foo foo sound" ( refering to Coleman Hawkins of course)
like your comparison with the sport car ;-)
