Even if Windows XP DID manage to boot, you wouldn't get far. Since the system detected a license violation you would probably get the SYSTEM_LICENSE_VIOLATION bsod and would be locked out of windows. I've only managed to get it once, and it was during setup.
This reminds me of a time when I ran something from Windows 3.1x on NT 4.0 (maybe the 16-bit regedit?) Anyway it also resulted in some duplicate entries anytime you right-clicked any file. Ever since then I’ve been awfully careful in what I run in dual boot configurations.

I actually followed the steps including tampering the registry, I didn't knew that was not required and it just caused my system to crash, forcing me to reinstall windows once again.
I'ts funny how after you swap the registries , in control panel it says "Windows 7 file recovery" like in windows 10 (ofc since it's some win 10 registries) but windows xp was released before windows 7

The better way to swap registries is to swap the registry files. These files are located in C:\Windows\System32\config.
