Actually the bear story is real.
Polish soldiers in the 2nd Corps trained a bear called Wojtek for the artillery regiment:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wojtek_(bear)
Cataclysm9 did he die.
Actually US did pay Mexico after the war to try and reduce future animosity.
And also we did buy a piece of land in order to build the transcontinental railroad called the Gadsden purchase.
Yeah but that was in like the 1890’s and we were building a second transcontinental.
@@Craisont they would have taken it by force anyways
And so the country went through a few civil wars and extreme poverty because of American imperialism
Yeah, they paid one part, and took the other one by force
7:33 the Seven Years War lasted at least nine year and some historians argue it lasted 23 years (as it was just a continuation of the Austrian war of succession) that was the joke.
I can get it being nine years long (undeclared), but by the last part's logic, WW2 was just WWI
The bear wasn’t edited in, that’s Wotjak, he served with the polish army in world war 2
nah man,im pretty sure Wojtek didnt work with german fallschirmjager on a mortar crew
I bet he was not at the frontline and so the bear was likely edited in

The comment section: OmG wOjTeK was real the pic isnt edited
Me: yes yes but his job is ammo transport not whatever going on in that picture
The bear in the picture was loading the ammunition, thereby delivering it to the enemy’s bodies.
Wojtek was real, but the pic is edited for what I know
It wasnt his job, he just started doing it himself, after he saw other soldiers doing this
The polish did recruit a beat only after the bear showed up and did it after that they taught him how to do it properly and kept him
9:20 well that didnt age well xD

There was a bear who was trained and fought in an army. The soldiers even taught it to drink and smoke too.
Drew, the bear was a real thing. It’s name was Wojtek, and it was an actual Polish soldier and he even got promoted from Private to Corporal. This badass bear supported the cause in battle by moving around ammunition for the artillery. Here’s the Wikipedia page for him: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wojtek_(bear)

Aged like milk, huh?
People always seem to forget that Ethiopia was colonized by Italy during WW2. They were just called Abyssinia at the time.
Also the huge string of British victories leading up to Tobruk, for some reason.
Actually Mexico was paid. In the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo Mexico was given $15 million for all land ceded to the United States, which did not include Texas since the United States considered Texas an independent nation at the time of it's annexation in 1845.
Immagine getting gassed so badly that you forgot that you were in fact colonized as well
9:25 - The prophecy has been realised
The ottomans used an amazing invention that is called the great bombard, they would line it up horizontal to the shore of the sea and when they launched the cannon ball it would skip across the ocean until it hit the ships they were targeting
Boomers:

The bear was not edited in. It was Wojtek the war bear, who was a bear adopted by a polish artillery unit in WWI. Very heartwarming story.

Bear in this image is real. Polish army trained him to helping with loading artillery.
9:22 holy fricking moly god
A group of Polish soldiers in exile used a bear to bring crates of shells to artillery positions.
The bear isn't edited his name was Wojtek and I believe he fought in the polish army and he carried artillery ammunition and he later became the mascot of a random unit in the Polish army.
So why is this the bear in this image working with GERMAN FALLSCHIRMJAGER on a MORTAR CREW
Spooky Engie idfk I just know that the picture isnt edited cuz he does exist
@@sulviar3011 it is edited in because his job is equipment transport not artillery
Equilin Togo he’s not actually loading the artillery he’s just next to it but ur missing the point the bear does exist and he is in an artillery unit
@@sulviar3011 my point is the bear is prob edited in because he most likely dont have a reason to be next to an artillery (plus what looks like a trench?, or that he's so small compared to the soldier next to him)
I do know he existed, Drew even featured him in a vid before.
Mexico was forced to take fifteen million dollars from the US as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo after the Mexican American War. Mexico did get paid for the land that was taken, although they didn't really want to accept any money from the US.
I didn't know there were already Uncut Gems memes.
Drew: I think 2020 will be fine.
Covid-19: Are you sure about that
My meme was legit right under the gingerbread cookies at the end cmon Drew smh
There were cannons in late medieval Europe. They were famously used in the 100 year war (although for some reason where left out in the Netflix movie "the King", shame on them), in the assault on Constantinople by the Osmanians and several other occasions. During that period armours like the ones shown here would be worn a lot (although I don't think the armours themselves are that historically accurate, but I didn't bother putting more research into this)
9:28 the prophecy is true
One Comment: Poland had a bear in WWII
Me:
*thats why I’m polish.*
Drew implying he had friends at the end
Don't lie drew, it's ok, we know you don't have any
The reason that they were able to take Constantinople with the large walls was because the ottomans invented cannons. When I first heard it I was shook because I didn't know they invented canons that early.

Everyone like: Ethiopia no get colonized hahahaha
But it literally did get colonized by Italy so wtf you guys talking about?
Invaded, not colonised
It didnt
We never got it
Ethiopia never even officially surrendered to Italy.Ethiopian rebels were supplied by the British and maintained control of some of Ethiopia under the command of Haile Selassie, and later on fought with the British once they invaded Italian east Africa.

The bear would carry artillery rounds, it would drink beer and smoke cigarettes (yes all of this is true) his name was wojtek, and fought till the end of the war against italy. WW2

Drew they *USED* cannons to take Constantinople
So they would have them after
This meme about knights shitting on the floor makes me so ANGRY! EVERY CASTLE HAS TOILETS!!!!
One of the main reasons Mehmed II was able to take Constantinople was because of massively improved artillery in the form of giant bombards... so the cannonball statement isn't totally inaccurate.
Constantinople (Istanbul) was conquered in 1453 so there were cannons. In fact, Ottomans used the most powerful cannon ever made in order to brake the great walls of Constantinople.
3:25 you're correct Drew. The Ottomans used cannons while taking Constantinople
