Terrible challenge, with only the basic gear there's no way to save Jenkins, thus preventing the 5th ending of Mass Effect 3 where Jenkins goes through the relay to Earth ahead of everyone with only a Fighter screaming his own name as he proceeds to face and destroy all the Reapers there just by himself, then when the crucible docks he crashes his fighter into the crucible beam and ascends to godhood.
I got the idea of using Archer dialogue from another UA-camr who did a few videos with his character. When I finally get the next video done there'll be a reference to that guy somewhere in the video.
If I had to play ME3 insanity on basic bitch mode I would actually go clinically insane. The final battle on Earth nearly broke me the first time playing Insanity and that was on like a 90% completion run. Honestly the entire first half of ME2 on pistol-only classes would probably also be a nightmare. I remember it being a really good challenge even with upgrades allowed.
Bro i remember when i almost throw out pad through window when i doing no death insanity run on all classes and due to battery game isnt paused and banshe got me on earth (good it was second run with worst class)
I am currently working on the ME2 video, but I'm also working on a bunch of other stuff plus my job has me doing six-day work weeks because we had to let go of two people. Hopefully, I'll have the next video done before the end of the month if I put in the effort.
It becomes easier after ME1, i havent beat ME1 on Insanity with basic gear, but i have with upgraded gear and Geth primes and Krogans where absolute nightmares, they have so much health regen that you could literally see their health bar go up and down even when you were shooting at them, this gets nerfed heavily in ME2 and onwards so it would be much easier from there on. :)
This is the first video of yours have I seen. Excited to watch. I wanted to try this challenge last year and wanted to call it the N7 challenge but I didnt get very far in.
I watched another UA-camr do this intentionally at Level 1 and he just went and did it with Mass Effect 2, as well. He even commented back about how he watched this video which was cool of him, although I don't know if he watched it before his video or after I commented.
That'll be a special challenge modifier. I unfortunately have already placed in some of the weapon upgrades on my save so if someone decides to do the hardest version of this challenge I would love to see how well they can do without all of the weapon upgrades.
I was able to get all the way to Benezia on insanity as a vanguard sniper main with no spent skill points or equipment changes of any kind. I couldn't progress because of the Asari Commandoes rushing me all the time. I might've made it through to the end if i tried more seriously but couldn't be bothered cuz it was clear how much they dumbed down the difficulty on the first game in the remaster. I mean seriously, a vanguard with a sniper as his primary?
@@bluespartangaming1514 Well, I could see it working if you're allowed to use the grenade launcher in ME 2 (and the upgrades from the lab) and if you're allowed to upgrade and/or modify your weapons in ME 3. Though I wouldn't be surprised too much if you'd be able to do it without those, you managed really well with ME 1 without being a space wizard. Either way, I don't know if it would be better to allow upgrades if not.
@@NightOfTheRavens I talked it over with my friends and because of the difficulty of the second game the upgrades system will be allowed as it doesn't modify the gun per se like the mods from ME1 and ME3. I will also be allowed to upgrade the guns for ME3 I just can't put the mods on them. Obviously, for optional difficulty I'll be saying that for a harder challenge not to go for upgrades in ME2 and ME3 as I also said that for the hardest difficulty in this run one could run with only the starting gear. As someone who's starting this Basic Bitch Insanity run I'm going a bit easier on it to show it can be done plus to see if someone else can run it with the harder modifiers or perhaps to find an easier way to do it like being a space wizard. Also yes, the grenade launcher is allowed since it's a starting weapon in ME2.

The editing made me realize how much i want Mass Effect with Archer as shepard.

This is a really fun idea. Would love to see how you would tackle 2 and 3.

I didn’t know this was a challenge run I did this because I thought hey the armor looks cool lol
Just be a biotic, then you don’t need to worry about your gear too much.
As the one who's starting the challenge, I decided to be the most basic of basic bitches. But I welcome you to try the challenge in your own way.

Major appreciation for all the archer lines🤙
There'll be more to come when I finally get the ME2 video finished.
I watched a youtuber do this in a blind playthrough because she completely ignored the equipment system.

Interesting video. Subbed just for this!
Obviously the most basic romance option is no one. I should know because I am A) basic and B) celibate.
> playing me1 in the first place
Upgrades in ME2 should not be allowed at all except for the ship upgrades needed to keep everyone alive.

Yeah, ME1 definitely feels much easier on Insanity difficulty on the Legendary Edition compared to the original release.
poor Liara.. going insanely bored waiting for shepherd
why do people make her wait?
Normally I always pick her up first so I decided to be funny with this playthrough.
if you wait the longest possible amount of time she will be severely dehydrated and near delirious when you find her
Try to do it in the original game.
Probably only if you're a biotic.
Guess we'll see how well I do with ME2 and 3 in this challenge.
