It's not candy coated. It serves a different purpose than what Amanda is more suited to. I watch the Real for fun conversations, a good laugh, and lighthearted celebrity nossip with the occasional serious issue. I did not tune in to the show to watch Amanda roll her eyes and talk over her cohosts!

@John Edwards people aren't disappointed that Amanda got fired. They are disappointed the show keeps avoiding difficult and relevant topics in order not to upset people while still continuing to use the title "The Real". Not to mention the Show profits mainly from minorities while never addressing minority issues that have nothing to do with dating and gossip.

I actually enjoyed the fluff conversations they used to have. I’d get my drink on with them and have a virtual girls night, that’s just something I enjoyed and I think most fans did. Whereas Amanda made it more serious, almost like watching the news. At some point you stop watching the news because it’s so depressing. It iss refreshing to have a lighthearted show. Maybe she needs her own show that people can decide to watch when they’re in the mood for the more serious racial issues. No hate it just didn’t seem like the right fit
I totally share your opinion.....I watch the show for its light hearted topics and conversations! It's truly a break from the seriousness of the news. The dynamics of the show before Amanda worked just fine to me. I can truly see Amanda with her own segment on CNN or MSNBC. Perhaps she'll get an offer to do this soon......I wish her all the best 🙏🙏🙏

Hollywood. Hollywood loves to take a person and market them. They couldn't market her. She's to untamed and she is constantly her authentic self. They couldn't get her to dial down, they damn sure tried to silence her because any of her "real" moments were often not shared. She'd share the full clip on her channel more often than not. It also says alot about America. It's not ready to hear a strong, intelligent black woman. It was in the comment sections on the Real pages and profiles, as well as Amandas. Producers knew. They followed the majority. It wasn't her platform. I'm not sure Hollywood is. That's not to her discredit, it speaks to her integrity. She's not going to sell out even a little bit for a brand. That's respectable.

As a white woman, I feel like Amanda did a phenomenal job educating me on what it’s like to be black in America. If she made people feel ‘uncomfortable’ about the subject, it’s because they need to take a look inside of themselves. I’m very sad to see her leave, but I completely understand. I know we will be hearing more from her and I truly look forward to it.

Speaking about these atrocities, social injustices and racial issues is her whole brand. I’ve said this before, I loved the real before Amanda came on, it was like a little feel good escape from reality sometimes. But I love and respect the fact that Amanda Seales speaks her opinion and talks about REAL shit. She was abrasive sometimes but she did keep it real despite all the backlash and I appreciate her so much for it. But she was never a good fit for the show. Doesn’t mean she’s a bad person or she should be hated for it, it just means she didn’t fit the vibe. It’d be awesome to get a show like the real with Amanda on where they talk about REAL IMPORTANT issues, I’d watch it!

That's pretty much always been my point. The purpose for her joining the show isn't what the show is intended for. There are different shows for diff purposes. No one turns on Dateline to watch stories about ppl living happily ever after, & no one watches American Idol to see ppl be quiet. Each show is created for a purpose, and the real wasn't created to be The Real- An Hr Long Discussion of Everything Wrong In The Black Community. What she has to say is legit, but she joined the wrong show If that's all she wanted to discuss. It would be like McDonald's cancelling burgers and switch to only selling spaghetti. Then getting annoyed when ppl complain about that. If you want to serve spaghetti, you need to apply for the Olive Garden, not a burger restaurant

She’s a force to be reckoned with and definitely a voice that needs to be heard. Not everyone carries the same burdens to speak on strong topics like she does therefore her platform needs to be one where she’s the main focus. The REAL was not the platform for her and I knew it from the start that it wasn’t going to work out for her. She is a little rough and abrasive and that’s very necessary when it comes to talking about black issues in our communities but she needs to create her own platform. She’s got enough character to be able to stand alone.
I honestly don't even know why she went on the show. Did she really think she'd be able to go on a show that's mostly about shopping, makeup, games, and ppl asking for advice on things like dealing with in laws and stuff and think she'd be able to change the whole climate of the show to things about race?? It wasn't the right platform. And she did talk down to ppl. Amara was on the show and she called her a hypocrite along with other celebrities.

I’m going to miss Amanda on the show, I really appreciated the light she shed on topics that are so relevant to society as we know it, and speaking up about social injustices instead of pretending like they don’t exist anymore! Silence will never get us closer to change, but speaking up about the issue has to! Especially with the many lives lost to the senseless violence brought against them, Amanda brings a different type of awareness to these types of things really happening, and that it has to stop, I respect her! I do think her talent and intelligence is better suited with a show that will allow her to show all she’s got to offer. I hope to see her appearance on one soon!
I respect her stance on the issues that our community faces. Daytime tv is just not for her. She seems to be the type of person to find negativity in any situation. That’s what I don’t like about her. I have heard her speak on various platforms and she’s always very negative. I can say that I appreciate her for not being afraid to discuss the issues in our community.

I actually really loved her on the show because she was so honest and outspoken. I’m a mother of a mixed race child, and honestly it was nice to hear from her and get that perspective. Sometimes I don’t know how to handle certain situations/questions he asks, so she really helped me in a lot of ways. Sad to see her go.
