She was a Teenager, sheltered and didn’t have a lot of life experience when they hooked up (she was 19 and this man was 29). I don’t know this fact for 100 percent, but I think he was her 1st “real boyfriend”, 1st everything, and he took advantage. Her whole grown woman life and experiences are with this man, who mistreated her by cheating, lying and God knows for years. Solange was tired of watching the blatant in their face disrespect.
